  1. Interesting how some around here dismissed the concerns of many of us when the OBD folks ignored the QB and OL situation this offseason. They were in a state of denial and appear to still be. Weird.
  2. Great idea! While we are at it, let's eliminate the offensive line as well! LOL. Good grief, to think it is so bad that some of our fans would actually serve this up as an option. How depressing.
  3. I agree with all you say above except the part about Fitz. He may be better than Edwards, but that ain't saying much. He certainly wouldn't start with any other team. It was madness to do nothing about the QB and OL.
  4. Glad your delighted with the status quo, i.e. losing. I'm not. We looked as crappy as any team who doesn't have a QB or OL. After all these years of losing, you'd think we would have at least lucked into getting a few stars. Unreal. Well one thing is for sure, "one of us guys" couldn't do much worse that what we've seen over the past decade or so. Disagreeing with my fellow Bills' nation compadres is hardly "bashing". I make no apologies to my passion and frustration with our "culture of losing". Oh, and I've seen enough to know that the decisions at OBD certainly are not working. Again, the jury is still out on Gailey. He hasn't been a headcoach for a long, long time and was fired from his last gig. He was a risky choice, which I'm okay with. However, he will not get an indefinite free pass if we do not start seeing some sort of improvement. Unfortunately, without a QB and an offensive line, his chances of success will be a challenge. Let's hope he can "coach up" our roster of midling players. Sigh.
  5. Read my headline again guy - ignoring our two biggest glaring weaknesses - the QB position AND the offensive line doomed us. Sure we have other issues, but for pete's sake if you don't have a QB and an OL you are not going to win squat. I will never cheer for the Bills to lose. Regardless of the situation. Never.
  6. I disagree. You do play the win. That means you get the best players, best coaches and build a winning philosphy. You never lay down on the field. Never. Having actually played the game (college level)trust me that Lombardi's words will always ring true - "winning isn't everything, it's the only thing". Laying down in December just for a high draft pick is not an option. The day that happens is the day our fan base should abandon this team. You play to win.
  7. If allegations are proven to be true, then the guy will be looking at and deserving of hard time in the clink. What a dummy.
  8. LOL. Nice spin. Trust me pal, I've been living through our years upon years of supposed "rebuilding" ever since Jim Kelly retired. Your patience with the braintrust at OBD is admirable, but misguided. Shrugging your shoulders year after year and saying "oh well it's a rebuilding year" may work for a few of you. The rest of us say enough already. LOL. Great point. The OBD guys can't even screw up getting the first round pick right. LOL.
  9. You may be right and you may be wrong. We were stupid to pass on Clausen. I'm not convinced he is the real deal and like Bradford better. I am convinced he would have more upside then our middling trio of QBs who probably we would be no better than 3rd string on any other team. How can a legitimate NFL organization pass of fixing the two biggest gaping holes on their roster? Unbelievable. Yeah, that's just fricken great. The braintrust at OBD must strategize every year on how best to bungle things up so we have the best possible future draft picks.
  10. Your damn right I would have made some bold moves to have acquired Sam Bradford. Great post. Comforting that their our some fellow lifelong Bills fans like myself, who see the forest through all those trees. LOL.
  11. +1 Now maybe some around here can quit saying "I'm glad we hired Gailey over Shanahan". LOL. Fools.
  12. What I wouldn't have done is ignored the OL and QB positions which is what we did. Bold thinking gets us out of the NFL celler, not the status quo. Unlike some of you, I find it unacceptable to do nothing. Trade a pick or two for some proven vets. Short term fix? Not hardly. We need more players, a mix of proven vets and youngsters - Trent Edwards would be hard pressed to be 3rd string on any other team, the same goes for most all of our OLinemen. Are you even old enough to remember when the Bills had their Super Bowl runs? Continued patience approach is a recipe for continued dissapointment.
  13. The thought of only winning a couple of games this season makes me fit the puke. I'm sick of us standing shoulder to shoulder with the celler dwellers of the NFL.
  14. Sorry guys, I remain hopping mad that we ignored the QB and OL this past offseason. I have said it will cost us dearly, and it is turning out I am correct. I'm hard pressed to find any team we can beat at this juncture. I'm hard pressed to find any other team that would even start our mediocre QBs. The stinkin' fins threw our guys around like rag dolls. Pathetic. Now I know some of you guys will howl, "but Merle, there was nobody available so we were smart to pass on a QB and OLmen." To this I say hogwash. We could have traded a pick or two for some talented vets that certainly would be better than wha twe have now. As for Gailey, the jury is still out. To say the team looked "rusty" is an understatement. He was a risky selection, let's hope he pays off. Rest assured I will not continue to give him a free pass if we look as gawd awful as we did last week.
  15. Again Billy - What's the alternative? To stick our collective heads in the sand while the Ralph crumbles around us and keep telling ourselves the Ralph "is perfect"? Sorry in my mind the status quo is unacceptable. Thus I will not "just stop". You always have the option to not join the discussion, but then again, that would take all the fun out of your stalking tactics and looney theories. LOL. Throw back another round guy. Anyhows, let's agree on this one: Let's go Bills! I'm pumped.
  16. Instead of some of you howling why it "will never work", I'd like to hear some more ideas on how to get it built as close the falls, on the American side, as possible. The best I've heard thus far is to level the Days Inn and build it in that area. Great location, with a view. Imagine the roar of our home crowd, coupled with the roar of the might falls. Any football fan or player would want to play and watch games in this venue, which means hello Super Bowl hosting opportunities, hello College Bowl games, hello final 4, hello attracting the best players to come up our way, hello to great head coaches who see a region and their ownernewship committed to always upgrading their team. Build it with state of art techonology, with plenty of glass to take advantage of the views. Build it so it fits well into the surroundings. Just build it for pete's sake and watch them flock to it. The alternative? Stick our collective heads in the sand while the Ralph crumbles around us and keep telling ourselves the Ralph "is perfect".
  17. Moats will be special. I've been singing his praises since the day he was drafted as well as followed his impressive stint at James Madison University (who just happen to whoop up on one Va Tech today. LOL).
  18. My point exactly. Great post. Amazing others seem to think Gailey is "just as good". Gaiely has been passed over for years. Shanahan has won everywhere he's been. Shanny is clearly better in all categories. It is not even close. Get a clue.
  19. Apparently the knuckleheads who think it would be an eyesore must think downtown Niagara USA looks just swell as is. LOL. Sheesh. Depending on the design of the stadium it would not be an eyesore, but a marvel. Fact.
  20. Somebody needs to have the cajones to sweep the garbage out of downtown Niagara so the place can climb out of the third world nation like rut it is currently stuck in. To have such a crappy town next to one of the seven wonders is an embarassment. Sweep out the garbage, bulldoze the Day's Inn and some of the scuzzy joints nearby and build the damn thing. It will instantly spark revitalization. Being timid and saying "it will never work" is not bold...it is cowardly.
  21. Your logic that just because one of the other seven wonders does not have a stadium next to it somehow means it shouldn't be built in downtow Niagara is so stupid it does not deserve a response. Where do you live guy? Are you even old enough to vote? LOL. Not a bad thought Senator. However, I'm sticking with the Niagara option. Go grand or go home. LOL.
  22. Good post. I too wonder why Gailey was passed over for so many years if he is so "great". Again, nothing against Gailey, but I'd take Shanny over him in a NY minute.
  23. Then why do some of you keep voiting these clowns back into office???? They are not appointed for life people, you do have the power to toss them out to the curb. Wake up.
  24. Thanks again my friend. Comforting to converse with one who can see the forest through all those trees. LOL.
