Gives us B's and an A- for the other picks, but had an interesting take on the Oliver pick:

    Ed Oliver, DT, Houston

    Andy Benoit's grade: C

"Most likely, the Bills saw this as a value pick. And after signing Star Lotulelei for big money in free agency last year, to pair with 2018 third-rounder Harrison Phillips and gifted (though mercurial) ex-Dolphin Jordan Phillips, they didn’t have a glaring need at defensive tackle. But outside, they badly need an edge rusher, as 2016 first-rounder Shaq Lawson is not that guy and Jerry Hughes could be in his last year with the club. That said, you can make room for a dynamic gap penetrator. Oliver relies on quickness and elusiveness within confined areas, which is a unique style of play. But considering his having had an up-and-down 2018 season and Buffalo not badly needing a defensive tackle, overall this is a high-risk, high-reward pick for a team looking to add talent in multiple places."

Never, EVER, trust a single word out of Benoit's mouth.  His hot takes are just that.  Clueless hack!!

  2. Lack of maturity and work ethic has to be part of it, meaning not taking your craft as serious in the NFL, as it is not college.  Not studying the playbook, spending all of your money and getting involved in the lifestyle that fame brings .  Everyone in the NFL is the best of the best.

I know many of you will say Gentry who? But please do hear me out.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanner_Gentry

Gentry was Josh Allen's go to guy at Wyoming in the 2016 season. He had 1326 yards that season likely obliterating the school record. With him in the roster, Allen threw for 3200 yards. Without him (and a couple of others), Allen threw for 1812 yards in 2017.  Clearly he had a connection with Allen.

With respect to his NFL career, he was an UDFA who latched on to the Bears. He was on their practice squad most of the time before being signed to a reserve / future contract in January 2019.

Given we were so starved for receivers last season (and pretty much till March 13 this off-season), I am wondering why Beane did not consider signing Gentry. I believe it would have Allen's transition so much easier.

    Go pay your bills

.....In 1989, Jimmy Johnson, having just drafted Troy Aikman, 1/1, used what ended up being his 1990 first round draft pick in the 1989 Supplemental draft on QB Steve Walsh from the U.  Some of you may remember Walsh was a big time college QB at the time.  Johnson, when asked why he had done this said that QB was too important to get wrong.  He needed to make sure he had one.  No one really remembers much about it because Aikman won that competition, went on to win 3 Super Bowls...and Walsh was traded to the Saints for draft picks.  ....keep that in mind....

As much as many of you have cherry picked the stats to pieces and conjured up every possible scenario to hide the blight of Josh Allens horrendous 52% completion PCT....the fact is, as exciting and athlietic as he is...Josh Allen is still a major question mark to everyone outside western New York (yes Bills fans...where you see a an ascending future MVP QB, the rest of the country sees a gifted athlete who isn't a good thrower)

Rosen is cheap.  He can be had for a 2nd round draft pick.

While the Bills certainly still have plenty of spots to fill and could use that 2nd to do that....what if you had Rosen on hand in case Josh Allen can't get that Comp % up above 55?  What if you had the next blue chip prospect already on your roster and under contract if it turns out you've rebuilt the roster, have all this young talent ready to go, and your QB turns out to be a bust?  You wouldn't need to rebuild again...you'd have Rosen ready to go.

You might argure making such a move would damage Allens confidence.  Maybe it would...but Aikman handled Johnson drafting Walsh, manned up and won that battle.  If Allen has the fortitude he's said to posses around here...he'd compete.

If Allen did turn out to be what you all are hoping for, Rosen would remain something of an unknown blue chip prospect that had value and could be traded for something useful next year.

If the object of having a pro football team is to WIN...then getting QB right is worth making this kind of move.  That's why Jimmy did it.  Just something to think about....these kind of situations don't come around often.

If by unpopular, you mean stupid, then yes.

This.  He is a nice player, but you are better off trying to hit a home run in the draft.  I think Gore is about leadership and that type of stuff.  It seems pretty obvious they either really believe in their young guys or plan to draft someone.

Gore is that plus your 3rd down running back who can actually help protect Allen
