I'd respect Mahomes "tantrum" more if it was directed at his guy for screwing the pooch NOT the referees.

One of the morning talk show guys made that point today, I think it was Richard Sherman. Like, his complete disbelief that hissy fit wasn’t directed at Toney for committing such an egregious foul in the first place.

He also made the point, as defensive guys do, that the offense has every advantage given to them as far as penalties in today’s game. So now you want a warning served up to you on a silver platter when you’re lined up on the wrong side of the ball? F outta here with that noise.

The question is, would they have won so much if they hadn't gotten so many calls in the past?

Who knows. All I know is Mahomes’ star fell for a LOT of people last night, and I’m not even talking about in WNY. He’s certainly had an easy go of it in the league so far, but how people handle adversity tells you a lot about them.

  3. I was thinking the same thing this morning. It’s getting less fun getting to games, especially with young kids/school nights driving from Rochester, all the prime time games, etc. Now the team is floundering and we’re going to have to pay 2x-3x for the experience soon, PLUS PSLs?

I first bought season tickets during the frickin Chan Gailey era, and thought that made me pretty hardcore, but it may now be a bridge too far.

He played like 14 games.  Also, 4th down slide against Denver with the playoffs on the line.  He gets as much love as he deserves.

I was at that game in Denver. We were so f’ing pissed at that move. Flew halfway across the country to see the kittiest play that ever kittied. F that guy.

edit: The Denver Bills Backers did throw the best Saturday night pre-party I’ve ever been to. I’m still recovering from the hangover. That altitude, hoo boy….

  5. I’m not an X’s and O’s guy, but I’m a sports guy, and while I can’t diagnose and break things down with expertise, I can pay attention and get the overall vibe of what’s happening.

What I saw yesterday was two very strong offenses start out going tit for tat, straight to a 14-14 score. It had the potential to be a long day, track meet, shootout, whatever you want to call it.

But I also knew if the D eventually clamped down as they tend to do, and Josh executed smartly and efficiently, there was no reason we couldn’t come out on top. And boy, is that ever what happened.

We will see the Fish again, everyone knows that, but I think we learned that as long as the D keeps everything in front of them (no small feat with the burners Miami has) and takes away Tua’s quick strike first read, they aren’t 70-point world beaters anymore.

What a game. Once we were up 2-3 scores, it was the best sustained energy I’ve felt in the stadium in a long time.

edit: I’ll also say I LOVE how the Bills/Fish rivalry finally has some real spice to it again. It’s been a while.

the guy seems to get old rather quickly from buying a Nordwood jersey to being a granddad of an approximately 8 year old.

But I don't think she is dead, as @jimmy10 pointed out, the Grandfather is the commercial's theme of passing down fandum.

Or, hear me out, EVERYone is dead. He and the granddaughter are the only survivors of a zombie apocalypse, and the most heartwarming part is that kid can walk the earth free from being made fun of for wearing a Norwood jersey.

Am I alone in lacking the energy and excitement of the last few seasons? Don’t get me wrong, I think that the Bills will be really good. Last year, I was sure that they were winning the Super Bowl. Maybe I just haven’t “recovered” from how last year ended but I’m not feeling that same energy as last year.

Right there with you. This thread is therapeutic. Dizzying expectations last season and then disappointment, bad luck, tragedy, literal life and death stuff. I still care deeply but my energy level is no where near where it was the same time last year, the day of the Rams game.
