Strange things happen in life we cannot explain. I’m not so arrogant as to say I know what they mean, I just find myself wondering. That’s all I can do.
Yes, and I've smelled that pipe tobacco once or twice since then, too.
-
Yes, somewhat. I'm pretty sure it was my father. I was doing some work in the yard. When I was walking toward the tool shed, I saw out my peripheral vision a
man wearing the same style of pants my dad used to wear. When I looked over in that direction, it was gone, but I smelled pipe tobacco. My Dad smoked a pipe
for a few years during my teenage years. There was no one in the yard nor neither my neighbors' yards either.

Almonds, especially in Dove dark chocolates.

Makes sense. Watched some of the 49ers game yesterday. Gilmore was playing like he didn’t want to be there.
Gee, we've seen this before, have'nt we?

I don't live there. But any port in a storm, right?
I grew up in Middleport. I thought you might have been there when you made reference to it in your post.

The largest contingent of people that I tailgate with is from Middleport and they watch the games in one of their garages. Pretty close to the fire hall. You should just go there and watch it and enjoy a Scapelliti sausage or two. Just tell them you know me and show them your most recent covid test. It's the garage with the red shovel leaning against the side cuz they aren't allowed to use the indoor bathroom on gameday.
Ahh Middleport, a fine town. How do you like Mr Ed's?
-
Well, it doesn't exist anymore. Used to be a real popular place in Middleport back in the 70's - 80's. The guy that owned it was nick names "Plowy". When he
died, that was it for that place.

nice, I grew up in Gasport... went to the Roy-Hart school district from kindergarten through 6th grade.
Ahhh the Purple Rams. Do you know of a pub named Plowy's?

Yes, last week a poster got mocked by some for being a bit dramatic about the importance of the 3rd quarter & the weakness of the Bills in that qtr.
Well here we are again! Miami last week almost pulled it out, and now this game! "Houston, we have a coaching problem."! This malady falls on McDermott and
Frazier. And speaking of Houston, last season in that playoff game, the Bills had a 16 point lead mid-way through the 3rd and lost. This has got to stop.
-
Zerovoltz, we'll serve you a side of Buffalo wings with your crow. They tell me it pairs well. Go Bills!

Our 3rd Quarters arent just an Offensive problem. They are a Team problem that goes all the way up to McDermott.
It's the one major problem left in his coaching.
I dont know what they do to fix it since I dont know wtf is going on in the locker room at halftime. But it definitely needs to change.
True. The 3rd quarter, especially the opening minutes thereof is one of the most important parts of the game. That time in the game can be a tone setter, momentum
changer and can shift the whole game in your favor.

Always loved Fitz.. I was hoping he’d have a good game but Buffalo would win with a healthy lead.. sucks he’s in Miami.. 🥺
Better watch it. Some people on this board might start saying the Bills should get Fitz for our backup qb.

God bless her, Bill. She's at peace now.

Marv Levy, he has none of the attributes I admire and all the vices I despise. Go Marv

No respect at all.
Agree. Big city bias is what I say.

What I expect to see this Sunday & all through this season is a more explosive offense than what we've seen in the last 2 yrs. This will take way more
pressure off of our defense and that will enable them to be more rested in the 4th quarter. If the offense can regularly put up say, 28+ points a game, It'll
be really tough for other teams to stay with the Bills. That's my 2 cents. Go Bills!

Because in an era when QBs ran the show, he was one of the best at it. The game he called against the Colts in SBIII is a great example. Not a statistical masterpiece by any stretch, but when you look at how he had one of the defenses in the league on its heels the entire game, it’s easy to see how much of a masterpiece it was and why he was the MVP. He had numerous games like that in his career. HOF voters realized that.
Well put K-9. We who remember the beginning years of the AFL also remember the barbs/insults from the NFL & sports writers. Like him or not being in the Hall,
Namath did a lot to raise the popularity of the league. More people started paying attention to the AFL and their faster paced, more modern style of play. The fact that
he was the qb for the AFL's first SB win didn't hurt his chances of being in the HOF as well as putting the AFL firmly in the minds of all pro football fans across the nation.

T&C, Thanks for posting this. I'm sending a copy of this list to an old Air Force buddy of mine & his wife. Such memories. Arguably the best year ever for production of music
in rock and roll history.

You play who’s in front of you. I don’t concern myself with schedule strength projections and whatnot...we all know the NFL is “any given Sunday” and if you don’t prepare for the opponent in front of you you’ll get your asses kicked. I guarantee you that’s how McDermott sees it too.
Copy that!

It means we were 10-6 and went to the post season, and, wait, we are favored to win the division this season, so we got that going for us...
Yes the O needs to step up, but all of us already knew that... next...
Go Bills!!!
copy that

This one's from the old days, that I've always got a laugh. The guys that bought season tickets at the Rock Pile that included a seat for their 1/4 keg of beer they'd
bring to Bills games. That's classic. For us that remember the Rock Pile days, it's fitting.
FWIW that's my memory.

@B-Man, and anyone else interested in the history of the Freedom Riders...rent or watch this film. I knew so very little about before i watched this.
The courage of these people will leave you awestruck. If you have children, I would highly recommend buying the film and watching with them.
Good on you plenz. When I was teaching Am. Hist, I would be sure to show my students the documentary on these young people. They were gutsy kids that tried
to make a difference in a difficult area of our nation.

His maturation has been great to see since his first season! He reminds me of a young Aaron Rogers.
