  1. The off-season is a time of hope. There are fans and media from every team, Lions and Saints alike, who are talking about the potential of their draft picks, the development of their young players, better luck with injuries, tweaks to improve their offense/defense, etc. For this reason, the off-season hype is focused around the players with more upside. Per your own statement, Brohm and Edwards appear to have more upside. Is it a reasonable idea that Fitzpatrick starts? Yes. The problem is that a focus on Fitz being the starter will ruin the hype of maximizing on our potential. Officially, the QB competition is still open, and he's still sharing reps. There's no need to burst the optimism bubble when we haven't even made it to preseason.
  2. I just spent 5 minutes trying to justify what Mason said, and it didn't work. ... I want to elaborate on that, but it just ... doesn't make sense. I feel dumber now.
  3. For what its worth, he did play QB in high school. http://hurricanesports.cstv.com/sports/m-f...h_roscoe00.html
  4. This. Many bad things can be said about our front office of recent years, but the criticism should stop short of not drafting another Bruce Smith.
  5. Thanks. Long time reader, first (well.. second) time poster.
  6. TE puts together a successful drive, runs a bootleg right from the 5 yard line, and dives head-first for a TD in an effort to rally the players and be a leader. He is injured on the play, leading to questions about his durability and skill drop-off after the injury. This fans the flames of a quarterback controversy that continues for the rest of the season. I figure I'm always wrong, so if I guess my worst-case scenario it can't possibly come true.
