Agree with this WEO. I don’t see why this is supposed to be that big of deal. Trash Talk has ALWAYS been in sports. The difference is the coverage of the game. Athletes misbehaved off the field back in the day. But there was no TV coverage in Babe Ruth’s day. In Mickey Mantle’s day the writers chose not to include his personal life into their pieces, the same as they did for many politicians.

 

Trash talk and bad behavior is not new. Just how much attention is paid has changed.

 

And BTW, Richard Sherman is far from a thug. He’s playing a violent game; an emotional game; against an arch-rival; against a specific player, Crabtree, he has a beef with; and here comes a camera thirty seconds after the game ends. TV got what they wanted. Sherman knows what they feed on. Nobody should act like they are surprised. Could he calm down a bit? Yeah, he could. But the guy didn’t kill anyone or rob anyone. No bar room brawls he’s in the middle of.

 

Sherman is very intelligent and will wind up laughing all the way to the bank of endorsements, while some continue to mischaracterize him as a thug. If Richard Sherman is accused by some on this board of being a thug, that person does not truly know what a thug is in today’s age.

Gee Wiz… Some of you guys must have a boring life… Its just trash talking he didn't harm or kill anybody and its part of being competitive. Do you honestly think SF wasn't talking trash? Do you honestly think nobody in the NFL but Sherman talks trash? I hope not… Plus what bad timing (or was it good timing?) to put a mic in front of a guys face after he makes a play to send his team to the dance. Thats raw emotion which I enjoy more rather than the robotic PR bs that has to be read/said. Sherman is not an idiot by any means he went to Stanford and graduated in communications. If you notice how well he actually articulated that rant by looking directly into the camera and not using vulgar language. How well did he get his point across? I'd say he passed that test with flying colors... I will always side with real over fake but thats just me.

I'll go with the touchdown graph. EJ 2 Kolb 0 Tuel 1 (Tuel doesn't really count he threw it against Insurance Salesmen). So Kolb has 2 qtrs to throw 2 if he gets one its still 50-50.

Apart of me doesn't think Rogers gets it yet I mean look at Dez Bryant and Justin Blackmon. It took Dez 2 years to understand what he meant to that team he gets it now and in his 4th season he's the man there. Justin Blackmon seems to be going that route like Dez did. I think Da'Rick could be the same he has the same talent level as them IMO so it'll just take a while. There is no way he gets cut but it sure makes the decision tough. Hogan is on, Easley looks good and Brad Smith is Mr. Whatever You Need. Not sure how this plays out....

I'm with you. I don't care If Goodwin catches a single ball (which I think he might have the most TDs of all the rookies). If he has success on STs he can be the next Devin Hester of the NFL. He has Olympic speed and from what I saw today, really good vision. Hopefully he can catch too.

 

I said the same thing I think Goodwin could be the next Devin Hester or at the minimum the next Daunte Hall... X-Factor anyone????

I'm already pumped to see the Bills play this weekend. In particular, I'm interested in seeing EJ Manual play. I think I already know what we have in Kolb so seeing him play a quarter of the game doesn't hold a lot of revelations. EJ is a black box at this point to me.

 

I figure Tuel will get more reps than anyone given it's the first game. He probably plays the entire second half. Given Kolb's injury, I'm hoping EJ plays more than a quarter and starts the game against the limited time the Colts will play any first team defensive players. Let Kolb wrap up the 2nd quarter and play a couple of series.

Not sure who is the better QB. EJ seems to have more potential. But just from listening to and watching these two young men:

 

1. Geno is most likely to become a more of a head case than he already appears, especially in the NY Media circus. He looked immature and like someone that quits as soon as the going gets tough as his name wasn't picked in the early rounds. Remember the hang dog look from Joe Ferguson. Wait till NY jumps on this dude. The Jets are going from one cry baby to another. Geno won't last in that town.

 

2. EJ carried himself like an adult.

 

3. EJ spoke like an adult, even addressed some media schmuck as SIr. Everyone can understand what he is saying.

 

4. Geno sounded straight from the hood. Could not transfer his thoughts into words.

 

I believe that the real reason Geno did not get drafted in round one is all in Geno's head or rather the lack of things in his head. I don't care if Geno is better, I do not want to listen to a dufus like Geno for the next ten years.
