I wonder what they thought the odds of re-signing Stevie Johnson were?
That being said, I hope that the Bills DON'T sign big name free agents. They are almost always a waste of $. Better off giving it to your own good players and building through the draft with maybe a few second tier free agents sprinkled in. Just like the Bills current plan.
And this plan has worked so well for us the last 10 or so years.
-
So I doubt that Jackson ends up with the Bears. Unless they want both.
-
He is right. Comparing teams talking to Peyton manning and teams talking to Mario Williams is a stilly comparison on your part.
Even in a sarcastic tone, your post makes no sense.
Clearly NO ONE understands anything.
-
different story. Peyton was released and therefore immediately became a free agent and able to meet with any team(s) he chooses
double wow
-
Manning was released. Teams are free to negotiate with him before free agency starts.
wow.
-
Correct me if I am wrong, and I may very well be wrong, but wouldn't the Bills be in trouble if they truly already arranged a meeting tonight?
Yea they would I guess. Looks like the Cardinals, Broncos, Dolphins, are all in deep sht for meeting with Peyton Manning.
-
No thanks. Next topic please? Maybe about how we won't get Mario Williams?
-
Why don't the front office at OBD open the stadium up when a BIG name FA comes to town.....say Mario Williams or VJax and bring them in while the stadium is rocking and show what it's like to play in Buffalo. I would open up the food and beer and hell they could even make money doing this, free to get in to rock the RALPH but sell beer and food. I think that would sell a lot of FA's if they did this......
Would they honestly care about the beer and food?

Adam Schefter on the Mike & Mike show made no mention of the Bills going after Mario
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7676596/nfl-look-washington-redskins-big-players-free-agency
its the 3rd video clip
Looks like the ONLY teams that will talk to him are the Seahawks and Falcons. NO ONE ELSE in the entire league will be going after him.
Thanks for the info.
-
So of ALL the potential suitors out there, Buffalo was the first place he contacted and wanted to visit? C'mon !!!!
-
If you think we're going after Mario lay down whatever you're smokin.
-
No, I didn't misunderstand him at all. He clearly insinuated it was "thinking small" to only sign one of the two players in the poll.
Noo. You clearly misundestood what he said.
-
+1
I wonder what the general public reaction would be to a Garcon/Robinson + Wimbley pickup. Probably doom and gloom since they're not as familiar as Mario & Vjax, but arguably smarter.
I personally wouldn't mind Garcon but I know there would be TONS of hypocrites who would like Garcon but bash Stevie for having the case of the dropsies. Garcon drops the ball a lot
-
So, signing Mario Williams is "thinking small".
You clearly misunderstood what he said. Read what he wrote again.
-
Too much is being made of his celebrations. Like I said in another thread, only 1 of his celebrations was made in POOR taste. Everything else was just him having fun.
-
In all seriousness, I prey Nix isn't BSing. Many believe with the 600 available free agents out there teams are going to get better via free agency instead of the draft. If you look at every position in the Draft there are better FA's available. This is the year we need to cut the BS and spend.
We'll end up getting a couple mid tier players. DOn't expect anything spectacular. This is the Bills way.
-
They need to and will....with the threat of peyton manning and tom brady in our division....getting to the qb is our only chance at success
Dolphins signed Peyton already? What's his contract look like and for how much money did he sign for? You must have inside info that no one else has.
-
Less talk and more walking Buddy. I'll believe it when I see it.
-
This is a no brainer. If you HAD to choose between the 2 and you choose Jackson over Mario there's something wrong with you. You might as well be brain dead
-
great news!!! i'm of the opinion that this guy is one of the worst starting qbs in the league, if not the worst
I hate Sanchez as much as anyone but he's by far the worst in the league. He accounted for 32 TDs last year. He just needs to cut down his turnovers and he'll be legit.
-
Ive met the guy and had the privilege of talking to him for a good half hour and met his wife. He's mature and anyone who says he's not is ignorant.
-
The words mature and name Stevie Johnson are seldom heard in the same sentence. Could this be the start?
Stevie is mature and if you've never met the guy, you wouldn't know. He has his head on straight and is VERY mature. So he likes to celebrate in the end zone. I've only seen 1 TD celebration that was in poor taste. God forbid he lifts up his jersey and has "Happy New Year" on his t shirt. He's such an azz !!! How dare he say Happy New Year !!! Give me a break
-
Not that I'm interested in Jacobs, but you do know that Jackson is signed through this season right?
You do know that another contract is being worked for Fred Jackson right?
So you're going to give Jacobs the big bucks to be our number 3 RB? Gotcha
-
^I dont disagree, I still have hope for the guy, he is usually in decent position just doesnt have great ball skills. A guy can dream cant he
If he's in decent position then he should take some volleyball lessons and learn to hit the ball if he can't catch it. Unless he's completey inept and doesn't have good hand eye coordination. This guy keeps falling down the depth chart. I wonder why.
