  1. You're dreaming.

Who cares. It's all about the player on the field. Not off.

I'm sorry. Character is the most overrated thing in football. As long as they play hard on the field, who cares who's a better "person".

So suspensions from bad character don't matter?

  2. How can you call these solid picks??

Spiller is a great talent but they didn't need to use the 9th pick on a RB.

For the next 2 picks, I'll use the NFL.com rating system.

Troup was given a 5.3. How can you justify taking him when Cody, with a rating of 8.0, who some had as early as the end of the 1st was still there???? There were 5 other DTs with much better grades taken after Troup.

Carrington: how can you take a DE (grade of 7.3) when you need an OT and Campbell with an 8.0 grade is still there. WR is even a bigger need than DE and Dezmon Briscoe, Mike Williams and Mardy Gilyard still havent been taken?

What is the rating on the people that put these ratings out?

  3. Just look at this defense and how much potential it has (4 new players in front 7 and are in bold)

DEs - Stroud, Edwards, Carrington, Kelsay

    DTs - Williams, Troup

LBs - Schobel, Maybin, Davis, Mitchel, Poz

CBs - McGee, Mckelvin, Florence, Corner, Lankster

Ss - Byrd, Whitner, McKelvin, Wilson

I thinks it's heading in the right direction too.

  4. Teams that are completely rebuilding start with a good coach and a quarterback.

    The Bills have neither.

Maybe next year they will start rebuilding. This year they are just content to go 4-12.

How long did it take the Jets to "rebuild"? How long did it take the Falcons? How exactly did they "rebuild"?

4 and 12? I hope you enjoy your new Jason Taylor jersey.

  5. I didn't say the bills did. In fact other people did and picked him earlier. But let's say he was available and the bills felt he was the best player available. Should they pick him? Even if there is a very good OT, QB or NT available?

But he wasn't and they didn't. The men who are accountable made their decision and its almost time for round 2. Observers' what ifs are a waste of time, only the result matters.

  6. Anything is possible at this point. If the Bills can improve their 3rd down blitz pickup alone at the rb position I would be happy. We had some key drives stall last year not because of the o-line on those specific plays but at the rbs avoiding contact when they are supposed to be blocking. I like Jackson game alot, but his blocking makes me ill.

  7. Mark it down right now I think that we will see a trade in the next hour or two right before the draft seeing Lynch going to Seattle for their 3rd round pick. It makes sense for both teams and if I was Seattle I would make the trade.

Lynch is going to be better than anyone Seattle could draft with that pick he is easily early 2nd late 1st round talent who is still very young. Now the reason you are getting Lynch's talent for only a 3rd is because of his character issues. So Seattle takes a bit of a risk but get a RB that's better then anyone they could draft let alone anyone they could draft in the early 3rd round.

Buffalo get a early 3rd round pick for a guy who plays a position in which Buffalo is now stacked after the Spiller pick. Buffalo gets a good asset that they could use to trade up for a LT or an NT. Its a win win Seattle fills a need with a great talent while still having their 2nd round pick to use elsewhere. The Bills get a good pick that helps them build with guys this new front office wants.

I would like a scenario like that too. My guess is that they planned on moving Lynch one way or the other in the draft. Jackson, Spiller and the two larger backs that they already signed is a nice combo going into camp as far as diversity.

  8. I have to disagree with you on this one. The Spiller pick was a lot of things, to include a marketing ploy. Furthermore, if their supposed hardcore interest in Tebow has any shred of truth to it, that to would only refute your claim.

Their is no reason to assume that marketing and smart personnel moves cannot coexist. One does not automaticly discount the other based soley on association.

  9. There is an interview of Chad Gailey re Spiller on BB.com.

After watching that, I am convinced that they are going to use CJ to create a lot of mismatches (similar to the way we did with Thurman, which in my view was the key to the success of the no huddle).

All the haters out there can B word and moan all they want. The Bills picked a dynamic talent that was far and away the best option than the others available at pick 9.

It's funny, some people think that in the draft you have the luxery of getting players that fit nicely in decending order of availibilty based on needs and that you just snatch up like shiny pennies that no one else is trying to get either. What other offensive player available at the time is likely to have CJ's impact, I certainly can't name one.

  10. Do you Spiller-loving idiots not understand that you can't win in today's NFL without a top quarterback?

You can have the best running back in the NFL, but without a good QB you CAN'T EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.

Stop drinking the kool-aid and telling yourself that every move they Bills make is correct.

Look at Chris Johnson in Tenesee, or Adrian Peterson in Minnesota two years ago with Tarvares - even the best RBs in the league can't bring some junk team with no QB to the playoffs.

This pick just proves that the regime is just more of the same. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Be honest, if someone asked you a week ago to list the Bills top need positions, you would NOT have said RB. If you were asked what positions they need the LEAST help at, RB would be near the top of the list.

Terrible pick by a terrible organization that is bound to be a cellar dweller until Ralph finally dies and the team is moved to another city.

Apparently 32 NFL teams doubt that Clausen is a top QB in round one.
