  1. everything we do looks and feels like its at a "J.V." level to the rest of the league. I would love to be a glass half full guy at this point but I would have to seriously delude myself into thinking that this offseason was a home run...let alone BARELY a step in the right direction.

So as I am certain, the faithful watchdogs that rationalize every move the Bills make/do not make (while killing every other team for taking more direct steps to better their teams).....will flame me for this post, it is what it is. THere's not too many people that cover this league, that work in the league, are fans of other teams or just casual observers of the NFL...that look at the Buffalo Bills franchise and get excited or inspired. We field a team, thats what we do. You can watch it in the behavior of those who cover the league on TV, they can't say it but they are thinking it: we're a joke. They only talk about us because the have to and do not wase an extra second doing so. Our moves are always so questionable and off-key. As if we are looking at a different set of circumstances for ourselves that nobody else sees. If it had amounted to ANY success in a decade, then we could say there's real insight and knowledge there. But it never does.

I love the fans here, we truly love this team. Up there with the cheese heads as the top tier. The downside of that is that it blinds many of us. We take everything we do or do not do and act like theres a secret set of motives that are so genius, so we should wait as the best is coming. Jerry Jones once praised Chan Gailey! Hey that 2nd round rech for 3rd round talent was brilliant, youll see. We DID need a RB with the #9 pick BECAUSE we ARE keeping Lynch. A 5th round OT IS something to build a line around for the future. Dont even get me started on the Brohm worship that goes on here...a practice squad castoff is now the great white hope! for this franchise enough to pass on Jimmy Claussen in the 2nd round. Faneca will go to a team that makes moves and takes chances and we will say how old and done he is on this board.

I would bet Buddy and Chan got a full dose of why the chin and shanny never wanted to get near this franchise....the old man prob still pulls the strings on draft day. Even so, we're in the process of getting cheated out of a real competitive NFL franchise for another year but will take the lumps when the financial support of the bad product declines. I wish it were different but we do not behave on par with the rest of the league....and this offseason has been quite painful. Flame away guys. Go Bills.

    Do you have season tickets?

  2. Selvish Capers or Kyle Calloway in some way in the 6th round as an OT.

Really, Edward Wang! Everything I read (4 draft magazines, online articles, scouting reports) says he will be a quality backup and is not a great finisher.

Really? This is the guy competing with Bell and Green?

I've figured out the Bills offense. Gailey thinks he is coaching players in a 7 on 7 (with 10 alligators) intramural football at Georgia Tech.

Well, if this is true, then Edwards, Spiller, Lynch, Jackson, Evans, Hardy, and Easley would be a decent team.

Otherwise, Gailey thinks this is the mid 90's Lions he is coaching. Spiller (is Barry Sanders), and Sanders got the Lions in and out of the playoffs a few times without a line, a defensive front, or a top-notch quarterback.

Screaming is for women and children.

  3. As of right now, Kelsay and Maybin are the Bills primary pass rushers and it doesn't look like Schobel is coming back. The Bills had a few shots now at some very good pass rushers and we take a RB when we have 2 good ones and now a NT when they said that KW was playing there?

I'm calling it right now, the Bills will be in the bottom of the league in sacks. But they will lead the league in "excitement"!!!!!!!!

I know that you've been hurt before. But you can't be afraid to love again. Have courage my friend.

  4. I'm just thinking out loud here trying to rationalize why we would take Spiller in the first round with Fred and Marshawn on the team and (supposedly) not being interested in trading Marshawn.

What if Gailey's thinking about some wildcat-like scheme where, on a chunk of the plays (not all, obviously), they go with Fred under center with Spiller in the backfield? Fred's done it before and had more TD passes than Brohm last year (1). Marshawn acts as backup or you could convert him to FB. It could explain the desire to have three RBs.

Of course, it could also be that Ralphie is really calling the shots (which I believe) which have become seemingly more random over the years...

If you need to think about so much you might be better served thinking about something else.

  5. while Oline is extremely important, to say that it's more important than QB and Dline or even secondary in this day and age is a bit ignorant. Look at the colts oline. Look at the saints oline. Look at the chargers oline, look at the packers oline. Look at the cardinals oline. Look at the steelers oline.

Mike Gandy was the starting LT for the NFC champs 2 years ago. Did you see the starting LT in last years SB?

A team with as many as we have can only fill them one pick at a time. Now, out run defense is finally solidified. Just because you've never heard of the guys we drafted doesn't mean they aren't good picks. Our team was pathetic last year, with our run defense being just as pathetic as our oline. The regime said they want guys that can come in here and play right now, as opposed to guys that will come in and watch. Seems to me they weren't that high on the oline candidates this year.

Good point about Gandy. It was funny watching him stink in those games, but hey, the Cardinals did alot of damage in the playoffs anyways.

  6. Sounds like maybe he doesn't even know we need one? Are things ever going to change around here? I am not comparaing the players or the injury, but the Spiller pick reminds me of picking McGahee, drafting where we don't need and avoiding gapping holes.

Besides being RBs and picked in the 1st rnd, what else does Spiller and McGahee have in common?

  7. There are still some interesting players left (Norwood, Everson Griffen, Mardy Gilyard, Snead..) but I hope to God they end up taking Bruce Campbell if he is still there. He was thought of as a potential top 10 pick going into the draft. Not sure why he has fallen so far but he would still be incredible value in round 4 at a position of dire need. Then in round 5 possibly pick up Jevan Snead or Tony Pike if they are there and try and develop one of them over the course of the next year. Mardy Gilyard is another one I would love to see the Bills nab somehow. Kind of surprised he is still around too. Should be interesting.

I don't understand, Campbell was supposed to be our guy in the second. We were idiots for not taking him in the 2nd. Kiper will never be the same now. Just kidding by the way, this guy would be a project similar to Bell in many respects, why waste a pick if he can't play either. I think that some of you don't care who is picked at LT just as long as we get a body in there. Who has REALLY seen this guy play anyways?

  8. I am fine with Troup, fills a huge hole...but 2nd round? I would love to see some sort of evidence that he would not have been there in the 3rd or 4th round.

Now he has pressure on him to not be a bust since he is a 2nd round pick. IMO he has to be like Vince Wilfork type player or this was a wasted pick.

I would love to see some sort of evidence that he would have been there in the 3rd or 4th. Vince Wilfork was a 1st round pick and it's obvious that the Bills are staying true to their board. Let me guess, Kiper and Mayock thinks it was a reach, therefore you think it's a reach. How come those guys aren't GMs themselves?

  9. Three of the worst teams in the NFL have had a great 3 rounds so far, much better with both selecting the best player available as well as filling needs than the Bills have. Looking like the league is going to leave us and the Raiders fighting for the top pick this time next year. Our draft has been one big mystery and head shaker. We came into the draft with 3 huge holes, and have attempted to fill one of them, the NT, with a DE? The other two have been ignored. Any quarterback that had a chance of being a franchise QB is gone now. Not looking good. With this team, we will have to keep handing it off, even if we are down by 4 touchdowns, with no QB and no OL. Hopefully Buddy is watching Holmgren and Pete Carroll to watch how it is supposed to be done.

Sounds like you need your diaper changed.

  10. Blah! Same ole/Same ole blah! blah, blah, blah, ....QB's take time to develop so you need to find your franchise QB pretty quick in this leaugue. It takes time for them to adjust to the speed of the NFL and understand the playbook. If we don't get

a potential Franchise QB this year which QB's of caliber are getting very thin in this draft it's a bad sign for the future!

QB- We had our chances to pick our flavor and passed !!! But we did get a DE for the 3rd year in a row who is mediocre..

not bad, but not a lock at being a starter anytime soon!

First it was Chris Ellis, who we retain, but he rarely plays!

Last year it was the undersized Aaron Maybing....who was a

    non-impact player and barely played.

Now, what does it say about our confidence in those two players

if we are drafting another DE within the first 3 rounds for the

3rd year in a row?? Solution should've been: Orakapo last yr!

OT- We had our chances to pick Brian Bulaga or other

well documented OT's !!! Instead we selected a RB who although is potentially great....

that fishpond was already well stocked with Fred Jackson, and

    M. Lych. If you denounce Lynch's talent and think he should be

gone then it's also apparent that the Bills feel differently and

want to keep him! So, why a position of strength when you have

so many holes. If they get a 4th or lesser draft pick for Lynch

then that just further proves the ineptness of this organization

    to draft well!

DT-We really needed one and selected I had him as the 10th best DT in the draft and I think the Bills

one that was projected pretty low depending could've got better value at that point in the draft. Remember

on the source. Bruce Campbell OT is still on the board and some had him as

a low first or early second rounder.

SO WHAT'S THE OVERVIEW HERE?? We passed on quality OT's and quality QB's and that is one of many reasons

why this organization will continue to be mediocre at best !! At least the teams that didn't pick too many players high in

draft like New England realize that they better stockpile some picks as we well know not every pick makes it in this leaugue. So you can draft like New England and stockpile and find some gems, or RECOGNIZE talent like Polian does and

draft specific players like Indy does, or you can be like the Bills and surprise everyone including your fans by purposely

addressing key positions that need to be addressed and playing cutsie when it comes to reaching for players because

the Bills draft board is quite a bit different than what the other teams have the players projected at. When it comes

down to it we'll probably pick some barely marginal QB like J. Skelton who will barely offer any competition to Edwards, Fitzpatrick, and Brohm in the Pre-season QB competition during training QB. Some organizations have a committment

to excellence and we have a committment to being a bad joke and poorly run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I applaud your commitment to complaining.
