  1. He's an example for this team any which way. If he takes the humble pie and is productive, he's an example of anyone can change if given the right opportunity and situation. And the Bills are that kind of organization to be the best version of yourself.  If he goes south again, he's an example of what not to do to have a successful NFL career, even if you have the talent. And kudos to the Bills for giving him the opportunity.  Either way, low risk and he's not going to poison our already established and solid locker room.

Torrence had a very good rookie season. I think he'll be a good guard for a lot of years here.

The weirdest thing to me is that after a few seasons of searching for the right o-line combination and of the guards being a liability, the Bills finally stumbled on a great lineup last year. Their guards were finally, at the very least, NOT a liability.

They followed up this season of above average line play by....releasing their veteran center, shifting their left guard to center, and moving a backup to the starting lineup. (Yes, I realize training camp battles may change this, but that's what it's penciled in as at the moment).

So...it's just weird to me. Morse's contract was not THAT cost prohibitive. The deal he signed with the Jags was certainly doable for the Bills. And fixing what ain't broke by moving McGovern to center, which he hasn't played since college...it's just weird.

My biggest hope of the offseason is that Sedrick Van Pran takes the reigns at center and never looks back. That would allow the least upheaval/turnover on our line, with only one position seeing a new starter.

I was fine with moving on from Morse. He was okay for the most part during the regular season but struggled against quality DT's, particularly in a bull rush.  He's a finesse guy in what is shaping up to be a more physical OL.  $8 million was a lot of coin for him.  I'm anxious to see if Van Pran can take over and give us a Torrence like rookie year.

Rousseau hasn't really broken out as a pass rusher yet but he is an underrated player, in general.   The Bills badly need a guy opposite him to just run wild from the blindside and allow Rousseau to do what he does best........which is level up, locate the QB stepping up in the pocket and bring him down.   His GPS for that is elite and that's what made him such a beast in college despite very little experience as a DL.    Give him a late 2010's high pressure rate, low sack rate guy like Jerry Hughes flying around the edge and GR is a 10-15 sack guy.   Bills haven't been able to do that except for that stretch with Von in 2022.   Rousseau is so effective against the run on the strong side that he is a rare case where you might build the edge positions around him even though he needs to be paired with a bendy, fast get-off guy to really flourish.

Agree. He's our new Phil Hansen. A great Bill who set the edge, stopped the run and still finished some sacks when Bruce flushed the pocket.

For his size, he has huge arms.  16 sacks is a lot for 1 college season.

We possibly get a steal?   Situational pass rusher, maybe try him at "OLB" on some looks.

He said Von is his idol basically so that could work out really well

Look at his muscle development......he's like Thor out there

Javon Kearse  + King Solomon  =   DPOY   😂

Jeebus he does look like a Marvel character. Speed, bend and power with that kind of wingspan will translate in the NFL. Move him all over the DLine. Some tutelage from Von could be the secret sauce.

I think that it will be tough for Van Pran-Gran to unseat McGovern.  But if he does...

I don't rule out Van Pran starting. He's played a lot of ball with an elite team in an elite conference.  If Edwards falters at LG, I can see moving McGovern back there if VP is looking decent.

I don’t care what anyone says. This team is MUCH better than the one that took the field and lost to the Chiefs last January.

The Bills are going to be a load this season. Buckle up!

Jesus Beavis, calm down. Lot's of moving parts have to go right.  This year will be a process.  I don't expect they will be "much better" off the jump.

Great! Maybe they’ll sing Glee songs together. So done with this team. We needed 5 more goofy WR’s with catchy names like “Soob Soob Wakadash” or “Se’Se’Se’ Latoonski”. Beane sucks.

Well to be fair, those are pretty cool names.

It's another piece of the puzzle. We don't need to know his 40 time to know that he's slow. Watch the tape how the db is with him step for step on any route longer than 10 yards

Okay, you hate the pick. We get it. I guess the only way to get separation and catch balls is to be sub 4.3 speed like MAYBE MHJ is but won't actually be timed.

Right.  Excellent point.  What's your conclusion from that?

    Mine:

    1) just because a guy has legit sub-4.4 speed doesn't mean he will succeed in the NFL

    2) just because a guy doesn't have sub-4.4 speed, doesn't mean he won't succeed in the NFL

    3) if you want a guy who is the complete package as a draft prospect, figure out how to get to the top of the 1st round

    4) otherwise, pick a guy who has traits you value and gaps you think you can coach up

Obviously Beane didn't want to give up whatever he would have had to give up, to get to the top of the 1st round, so he's going by 4)

Isabella, in particular, indicates the paradox that sub-4.4 speed and college success don't assure NFL competence.  He was drafted in the 2nd round by the Cardinals because of his combination of both elite speed AND quickness with "the feet and the fakes to uncover in a hallway closet".  He has a relative athletic score of 96.  But his scouting report also noted "Restricted escape angles against press could offer challenge.....Can be shoved off the route path by solid contact. Obvious catch-radius limitations due to size. Chronic body catcher. Rolling starts lead to excessive false-start penalties."  Obviously, the Cards hoped they could coach those things up, and 5 years later teams are still hoping.

You can't coach speed (you can train to improve it, obviously), but there are other traits like elite catching skills and physicality which are also apparently hard to coach.

    Mine: Isabella sucks.

I kid, but end of day we're kinda of saying the same thing. Fast doesn't = football player.

Relative Atheletic Score. A way to measure a player's athletic testing to their size as well as historically comparing to others in the bracket. A 10 is the best EVER measured....so his score is awesome

Good explanation but it was wasn't me asking.

We have two.  Samuel and Isabella.  Cook is dang close with a 4.42 40-time, as well.

Now you can say you don't think they're the right guys, or we need different guys or better guys, but that's different from saying we don't have guys.

O receptions for 0 yards. But yes, he's under 4.4.
