  1. Lots of speculation if Teddy will be back or Bradford will be the guy going forward. Bridgewater had his career derailed by that gruesome knee injury but may very well be available.

Should the Bills look into the third year player? He's still got a ton of potential, moves very well, may be the perfect fit in Dennison's horizontal offense.

Arm strength with Teddy is questionable, but I think he has an adequate arm.

Would you go after him? Would you give him $12M per in the offseason? (Throwing that estimate out there.)

    no

  2. I'll second that. Please change the title.

    Ill third this.

I will also add that this is utter lunacy. Woods is one of the, if not the most underrated player on the team. Him not getting the ball all to often is no bad reflection on him its on the QB's and scheme. He has excellent hands and to whoever said he wasn't tough (seemed sarcastic but either way) thats fairly laughable.

The dude is a stud and provides stability when we have 2 incredibly talented (but injury prone) guys playing with him.

  3. This was a great read. It sheds a lot of light onto the process.

A quick story about a HC hire when I was in NOLA. When the team was interviewing for a HC (eventually Monty Williams was hired) Avery Johnson was considered a favorite by outsiders. His resume was pretty good, he is from New Orleans and he wanted the job. His interview was an absolute disaster. My old boss said that it was the worst interview that he conducted in his entire career for any position. It was like 30 minutes long (the others were 4+ hours). They asked him , "how do you handle players that are causing problems?" He paused and said, "I get his grandma on the phone and say 'mama, get a pot of gumbo on the stove because your boys been misbehaving.'" He never talked about staff, philosophy, etc...

I guess the moral of the story is he was seen as the ideal fit by many prior to the search and they could have interviewed 400 candidates and he probably would have finished 400 (and I love the story). Whether or not Rex was seen as the ideal candidate prior to the start of the process doesn't matter. After hearing him talk, he seems like the perfect fit. I hope that it works out and Rex is here for a long time.

I like that story, goes to show that even if the fans would be thrilled by something and the team can make it happen it sometimes isn't the right fit. When you think you have it and don't give it preparation how are you going to prepare a team day in and day out.

  4. Per Rotoworld

Coach Rex Ryan had dinner with LSU T/G La'El Collins in Baton Rouge, La. on Monday.

Without a first-round pick over the weekend, the Bills could hit a grand slam by signing Collins. He was viewed as a mid-first-round pick -- the Bills would have picked 19th had they not dealt their pick to the Browns -- before Collins got wrapped up in a murder investigation, even though he isn't viewed as a suspect. If this comes down to recruiting, there may not be a better head coach at it than Ryan. Collins is ready to start day one in the NFL at either tackle or guard.
  5. Just more of a general statement, I just don't understand how people could be saying that we "killed" this draft.

Im not furious about it but from a bystanders standpoint we really didn't do all that well. I haven't found one place that thought it was particularly good and we took people with a lot of character concerns while ignoring some of our most important needs.

I really don't think a C- is that unfair but then again with no 1st its tough to have an A grade draft as well.

Hopefully some of these guys pan out after development and we can keep improving but no need to get pissed at Mel, he ranks his players and based where teams pick them he can praise or criticize. None of our players with the exception of Miller and maybe O'Leary are prove per say.

  6.

Whaley Drafted 2 O-Linemen last year...I don't think that can be overlooked...They were his picks as the GM...And they both looked REAL bad under Marrone...The only thing I can surmise from this is that Rex and Roman have determined Kouandjio and Richardson are going to be WAY better than Bills fans think they will be...

Actually 3: Cyrus, Cyril, and Seantrel

  7. Well we were hoping you wouldn't be that good and we would be picking in the top 10. NOT fair! Hahaha. Just kidding. I am tired of debating who the Browns should take at 19 with Browns fans so thought I'd ask the original owners of the pick who YOU think we should take! I would list our "needs" but we have holes at pretty much every position. Probably the one area we look decent is in the secondary, though I don't have high hopes for Gilbert to take hold of the other CB spot across from Haden and the guy they signed from GB is past his prime. Also, Grimes is gone. RB is OK too.

OK - you are on the clock! Who do you think will be there at 19 that would be BPA for the Browns?

P.S. This is the best NFL fan message board out there. It isn't even close!

P.S. Part 2 If you don't want to talk about the Browns I apologize. In the past, you all have been so knoweldgeable about all teams, not the case on other boards. I thought since it is your pick anyway, you might have ideas.

P.S. part 3 Is there anyone the Browns could pick at 19 this year that would make you regret the trade? I am guessing the answer is "no" but curious.

This would remotely annoy me, were it not for the fact that the promise that the browns most likely saw following last years draft has quickly been replaced with a level of dysfunction that I have truly never seen in my lifetime.

Take whoever the hell you want, they will fall into oblivion soon enough.

  8. Bust: Mariota- He is definitely athletic and a good kid I just don't think he will transition well to the NFL and especially with how high he is going. Oregon runs an incredibly unique offense that is going to have virtually zero similarities to the one he has in the NFL (unless he goes to the Eagles). He will need at least 1-2 years to develop and there is no chance he is getting that.

Sleeper: Tony Lippett- watched this guy a lot the past couple of years and got better every year (and particularly the last 2). He could be a really solid #2 receiver or an even better corner with more seasoning. Just like the versatility and think he has a good attitude to be successful wherever he goes.

Also to the people who are saying Winston (and this is seriously coming from someone who hates the guys guts) have you watched him play? if you took away his personality to me he is the 2nd best college QB I have watched this past decade behind Luck. He's just such a jackass I hope he falls on his face but I really don't think he will because he just has that much natural talent and instinct.

  9. In the continuing saga of far fetched trade deals, I just wonder if the Eagles might be considering trading Sam Bradford to the Bills for EJ Manuel if Chip Kelly can not swing a deal to acquire Marcus Mariotta.

Despite what Chip Kelly says, many doubt that Bradford will ever wear an Eagles' uniform. He just does not fit the Eagles offense. Many think that the only reason Kelly made the trade is because he wants to use Bradford as a chip to acquire Mariotta.... Only time will tell if this works out, but if this deal falls through, perhaps the Eagles and Bills could do a another swap that would include Bradford for Manuel.

I seem to remember EJ saying on his draft day that the Eagles and Bills were among the teams that expressed the most intrest in him. Manuel's mobility would seem to make him a better fit for the Eagles offense... Also, there was plenty written a few weeks back about how the Bills were looking into a trade for Bradford... If true, this never worked out because the Bills didn't have much to offer and the Rams wanted Foles... Maybe the Bills and Eagles talked about such a trade earlier but Kelly was hesitant to pull the trigger because he still covets Mariotta....

This is just a theory, but the way things have gone this year, it wouldn't surprise me...

I am all about hypothetical but this isn't even hypothetical this is just plain fantasy.
