As a former prosecutor, and Bills fan, I've been considering the phenomenon you reference a lot and I believe it is more like battered wife syndrome. The husband (Ralph) comes home and wails on his wife (us) we call the cops tell our friends we're leaving that bastard, and say we want him dead. But a day later we're at his side begging for him to stay (in Buffalo) and saying maybe this time it will be better and we should give him another chance.

I'm going to stick by the Bills, but have campagne in the fridge for when Ralph kicks and the team gets an owner who isn't bent on becoming the Raiders East. In the mean time I'll be downing whisky till the draft.
