  1. Maybe go out on the deck and scream "Let's go Buffalo!!!! WOOOOOO!!!"

But otherwise, I'd act like I've been there before.

The great thing about this would be that we can act like we haven't been there. I am always one who has said that all they need to do is win just one. I live in Pittsburgh and I never want to be a fan who believes I'm entitled to win a SB every year. While that kind of consistency would be nice, I always felt like winning a title should have a special place in a fan's heart, not a "ho-hum, we got another one" kind of feeling. Let's see if I feel the same after the Bills win a few...

That being said, I would celebrate with my Bills loving family that night, and spend a few days in Buffalo embracing random Bills fans at a victory parade shedding many tears of joy, and anything they ever do after that will be icing on the cake.

  2. I wouldn't say that Berman sucks. That's a bit harsh. Too crude to be true. He needs to polish up his schtick, but I like him.

Methinks that if you want a group that really sucks, you should look no further than the abomination that CBS puts on the air every Sunday during football season. "Boomer" the wimp Esiason, Dan crybaby Marino (can this guy let his hatred of the Bills go already?), "The Chin" Cowher, and the worst violator, the mouth from the south, the one who I'm surprised doesn't need a bib for how much he slobbers when he talks...none other than Shannon Sharpe. With most Bills games being on CBS, I turn on FOX or ESPN to AVOID these baffoons. I don't know what James Brown was thinking, but the CBS pregame show has ALWAYS sucked, he's the only class on CBS. But it is horrible with Marino, Esiason, Cowher, and Sharpe. A complete group of unwatchable morons that laugh at each others unfunny jokes.

The ESPN pregame show is my favorite, and I think that Berman, Ditka, and Tom Jackson (LOVE this guy!) rule. Keyshawn is OK, and Cris Carter always annoys me for some reason- he strikes me as arrogant- otherwise they are bang up. Insightful, nice graphics, interviews, etc.

FOX is 2nd to me, and they have a great group (except for the guy expected to fill in for the great James Brown). Howie Long is one cool hombre, IMO, Strahan is engaging and entertaining, Bradshaw is biased but fun, and as much as I hate Jimmy Johnson I respect the man and can listen to his knowledge and experience much more than I can get over my disdain for anything Marino.

My second football broadcasting peeve: why can't any of the networks hire a smokin' hot girl to do reporting? One that's actually watchable? The ones they have now are either too old, too heavy, or just plain boring. And all of the networks are guilty. Lesley Visser? The one on FOX? The old, blonde one on CBS? Suze Kolber is cute and likeable, but cute is not HOT!

Jenn Sterger is smokin', but she reeks of total dirt-bag after the Favre fiasco.

Jillian Reynolds/ Barberie is extremely easy on the eyes...but she seems like she'd get annoying after listening to her talk for too long.

Give me Jenn Sterger without the desperate cry for career grab and I'm sold!

I quit reading after seeing "Methinks."

  3. Pittsburgh, PA. And I cringe at the number of fools who have changed their team to the Steelers once they moved here. There was a guy at my gym who noticed my Bills hat and said he was originally from Buffalo. Said it was great to have a fellow Bills fan around and he said he was now a Squealer fan. He has since moved to DC, so I'm guessing he just bought himself an RG3 jersey. I am originally from Erie, PA, and will bleed Bills until I die. I'm also a Spurs and Braves fan, but I gotta tell you, the feeling I will have when the Bills win the big one will dwarf any excitement I felt when they won titles.

    GO BILLS!!

  4. Ask Trent Dilfer or Brad Johnson !!!!!!!! Or ask Jim Kelly if being a Elite NFL QB is all you ned to be to win a super bowl !!!!!!

That could be why it's a TEAM sport !!!!! YA THINK ??

Dilfer and Johnson are in the minority here...and look at those defenses that they played with. Look at the studs even in the last 20 years that have won SBs...Aikman, Favre, Elway, Warner, Brady, Manning(s), Rodgers, Brees, Young, Roethlisberger. All of these guys are HOFers or at the least borderline HOFers.

Hostetler, Dilfer, Johnson are on a very short list of non-elite QBs who have won SBs. If I'm a betting man, I like my chances with a stud rather than a dud. Even Rypien's SB season was spectacular, although his success was short-lived (think he was a 2 time pro bowler).

It is very much a team sport, one in which you need a great leader directing the team.

  5. My son is a Steelers fan. He tries to make me feel better by telling me he roots for the Bills when they are not playing each other. He wants me to do the same, but I just can't.

The good thing, however, is that he also hates the Patriots.

I live in Pittsburgh with my family and aside from perhaps her being kidnapped or suffering a traumatic or deadly injury or disease, my daughter becoming a Squealer fan is one of my biggest worries.

  6. Pretty sure that is Vince Wilfork's wife. They had some segment on him and his family prior to the game and I'm pretty sure that was her.

It is Wilfork's wife. Apparently he Wilfork just about anything. Sorry, I had to go there... :w00t:

What's even funnier, in that story about Wilfork, when he was explaining how they met he said something along the lines of "I got to get me some of dat!"...it was pretty hilarious. Who says the NFL has a no humor policy?

  7. I HATE the Steelers. Way worse than any of the divisional teams. Steeler fans are god-awful, have hated them sunce I started watching football, and it has grown since I live among them here in Pittsburgh. When they lose, all you hear on the radio is the sky is falling. When they win they act like god's gift to mankind. I enjoy Steeler losses a notch less than a Bills win. The primal scream I let out on my front porch after the Packers beat them in the Super Bowl last season left me quite unpopular in the neighborhood, and I love it.

  8. I believe Edwards was interviewed by Jim Rome when he was on a four game winning streak to start the 2008 season. The bills were becoming media darlings then too. The next game was Arizona, which started a four game losing streak and Edward's post-concussion play.

Let's hope the new uniforms shield them from the Jim Rome curse...

I'm not sure about Edwards being interviewed, but I heard Donte Whitner's interview with Rome during that 5-1 start....I remember him talking about a guy at a bar who bought him a $180 shot of some kind of liquor...I sure hope we can keep it going this year, bring on the Patsies*!!!

    GO BILLS!!!!

  9. Pretty sure you can add Bruce to that and maybe holt

Maybe even Orlando Pace. He was ok.

I can easily name 10 NFL greats that belong in the Hall of Fame before Shannon Sharpe. I'm still perplexed as to how he make it in. Oh well, here's hoping Andre Reed gets in within the next few years.

Utterly ridiculous to say he is not HOF worthy. He's Tony Gonzalez with Super Bowl rings. Please don't tell me Gonzalez isn't worthy either, you've embarrassed yourself enough already.

Sharpe is a Hall of Famer. All I want to know is how does Marshall Faulk get in as a first ballot HOF and Thurman Thomas doesn't?

Can't take anything away from Marshall, he was definitely a 1st ballot HOFer, but in my eyes I always thought Thurman should have been, too. ESPN just had a list of guys who could make it next year, about 8 names of first year eligible guys and 8 names of guys who have been passed up...Andre Reed's name nowhere to be found. I really hope he gets in one day.

  10. Too bad Sunday night football is unwatchable. I don't care if Olberman got canned, its unforgiveable that he was ever covering football to begin with. And if Olberman weren't bad enough we get Rodney f'ing Harrison. Combine terrible personalities with the most disjointed pre-game coverage imaginable as they switch back and forth between the six different reporting tandems, toss in a horse trailer for some reason and the 45 minute theme song from Pink, and I'm ready to stab my eyes out with a pointy stick and pour acid in my ears. I despise Sunday night football.

I suggest you do what I do, especially if it resorts to you stabbing out your eyeballs, SKIP the pregame show, halftime show, and postgame show. And if the game commentators lead you to want to commit bodily harm to yourself, listen to your ipod while muting the game. Your Sunday nights just got more enjoyable and catastrophic injury free.

  11. It was an outrageous joke that high draft picks EVER made that money in the first place and how it ever came to happen is completely ridiculous. Imagine if you worked at a company for 15 years and succeeded at what you did, and some fresh graduate came in and made twice as much as you before he even put in a day's work, I have to say you would be outraged. I'm guessing that's the feeling the veterans had. Especially when some of these high picks don't pan out and contribute absolutely nothing for the millions of guaranteed cash they pocketed. This should have been fixed a long time ago.

  12. September 10, 1977.

I went to my 1st game ever the next weekend in a loss to the fish on the 18th.

Wow...13 days before I was born. My 1st game was in '92 when we played the revolving door QB tandem of Tommy Maddox and Shawn Moore vs Broncos. I will never forget the double reverse pitchback to Kelly who hit Beebe for a 65 yard TD and snapped them out of a 2 game offensive funk. GO BILLS!!!!!

  13. residing and working in a location are two different areas. I can have my residence be in timbucktwo, arkansas and live in beverly hills, ca.

besides, what this guy did to "break the law" is unconstitutional and totally against darwin. we should let more idiots carry guns if they're willing to shoot themselves.

The "law he broke" wasn't shooting himself in the leg, it was carrying an unregistered firearm concealed in a public place. I'm all for idiots shooting themselves, in fact when I first heard about this Plax incident I think I laughed rather hysterically.

  14. What does it mean to be a true Buffalo Bills fan?

1.) To be there 6 hours before the game starts

2.) To start drinking 7 hours before the game starts

3.) To be at your seats trying to get on TV to show your Buffalo pride!

4.) To run across the field once in your life!

5.) To be there through the wind, cold, rain, snow and sun!

6.) To cook and tailgate with the best food and fans in the NFL!

7.) Even if our record is crappy, you do not all of a sudden love another team!

8.) When the season is over you still show off your Bills support!

9.) You watch and get just as excited for the Pre-Season games!

10.) You can't sleep the night before opening day!

So you are at the game 6 hours before the game starts, but drinking 7 hours before...that means you're driving when you've been drinking....big no no!

I think this just speaks volumes of how special Andrew Luck is. How many times have you EVER heard of an NFL head coach telling his potential franchise QB to go learn the playbook from a college QB? I can't wait to see what this guy does at the pro level.
