Agree. You can find a stud OT for the right side in the 2nd or 3rd. Maybe even a stud TE. But, you really need to be lucky to find a #1 WR in the 2nd round. Real lucky. For example Alshon Jeffry. EJ and the offense need the best value to fix a couple positions. WR in the 1st is the best chance to do so. We do not have a #1 on our roster, just 3 # 2's. Get a RT in the 2nd, the draft is filled with them. TE in the 3rd, but, we do have, I think, 5 TEs on the roster now. But, I don't think we have a #1 TE on the roster still.

You can have Jerry Rice and Andre Reed and it won't matter if the QB is on his ass. People rush over the RT and backs run on the right side. We have a hole there that needs filling.
  2. This is barring any trade downs and quite honestly I think its gonna be tough to trade down because the draft is so deep.

1st pick - OT Lewan. Yes I know he had the off the field thing but we have also drafted some players that have had some off the field stuff this past draft in Kiko and Duke. In a draft where it is widely considered that the 1st 3 OT's of this draft are better then the top OT's taken in the past draft I think Lewan is a pretty safe pick here for RT. Keep in mind I am saying RIGHT TACKLE.....I am not talking about any of this nonsense of moving Glenn to RT. We need to keep Cordy there and pay the man. I think Lewan comes in and gives us solid bookends for the forseeable future. Lewan plays with nasty which he will need at the next level.

2nd Pick - Jenkins TE. I have been really on the Ebron pick but the people that talk about how he doesnt play on the line have a legit point. Ebron is a H back very large WR type while Jenkins is a legit in line blocking TE that catches everything thrown at him, doesnt go down on first contact like Chandler......and is actually pretty fast for someone of that size.

To me the name of the game is getting mashers on the field for the running game.......and guys with dependable hands for our young QB....I think the Manuel to Jenkins connection would be good and could be good very quick. Jenkins will take a ball away from a defender in the footage I have seen.

I like your thinking. These two picks would help us immensely immediately.
  3. At nine tere will be "blue chip" players at most of the positions mentioned. ot, te, wr. Which one will fill the biggest hole from day one? The offensive tackle. We have good te's and we have good wr's. We have a good fa linebacker and backup running back. OT is the gap and if one of the top three tackles is there, that would be the way to go.

  4. I think next year is the sink or swim year for EJ to show he is the guy. That being the case, and given that we don't seem to be in the bidding yet for a tackle from the better FA's out there I have to think we are going tackle in the draft. That or maybe Ebron if he is available. Actually as early as it may seem I think it may be make or break for Marrone to produce a winning season.

  5. Seven of us snuck through barbed wire and landmines, avoided south Vietnamese patrols and went into the town of Pleiku at night which was crawling wth VC control at the time. Then snuck back through landmines and barbed wire.....In a lifetime of dumb things this really ranks up there...Booze had a lot to do with the planning ad execution of thi adventure.

  6. He may be a good choice to fill a position of need. Never can have too many liemen. I would have expected us to be going after one or more FA to fill a linebacker or even OT position. If we get a quality tackle it opens up our first round pick for someone like EBRON or a starting linebacker (Kahlil?)

  7. I am not sure how I feel about this. In part very concerned that they will draft him. Looking for a silver lining that he could benefit from some better coaching - has all the measurables but something is missing in coverage skills. Amazing athlete.

Whaley was at the pro day on Friday. Not sure who else from the Bills, but Roby said he had dinner with "Bills Personnel" on Friday night.

Someone talk me off the ledge. I know he was put in some very bad spots by the coaches this year and I know he is very talented overall and the secondary was blasted when they lost the starting safety Bryant. But still... I just can't see him trying to cover NFL WRs.

    The #BillsMafia@TheBillsMafia 13h

It's been reported the #Bills met with Ohio State CB Bradley Roby Friday night. #BillsMafia http://instagram.com/p/lTWOQ0kFxU/

Guess they didn't get all hyped up on anyone else at the Pro day and took this guy to dinner. Obviously not a guy you would want in rounds one or two, but may be there in the third and worth a flyer. Although a cornerback with questionable cover skills wouldn't be awfully high on my list.

  8. Why?Why? Whatever upside he had when he got out of prison (and there was some upside at that point) has pretty much dissipated by now. He's been rode hard and put away wet and I don't think he has much left to contribute, even as a backup. I'd look at other and cheaper backups assuming I didn't want to keep Thad Lewis. Use the cap money to get more and better linemen and linebackers.

  9. Look...who was the greatest linebacker of all time? Dick Buttkiss. Now if that isn't a gay name I just don't know what would be. All boils down to this...can the guy do the job, get us to the playoffs, win us a superbowl? If he can contribute there will be no problem. this is a profession and your advancement in the profession depends on what the team can do, and if Sam can make a significant contribution I say draft him and anyone who doesn't like it can find some other line of work.

  10. I think the trading down may be an excellent option but the nine pick is so fluid. As the first five or six teams draft that I would think the Bills may find a couple of players that they would seriously want at that position. The trade down is an option if, say, a hot qb is available and some team is willing to offer a great deal for him.

  11. He's not the first gay player in the NFL, just the first one to openly admit it. I can't help but think the country is far enough along that it won't be a big deal. The question is going to be how well he plays and if he can help his team. I admire his willingness to be so open about it and to take whatever heat might be there. Me...I'm hoping he's very successful and has a terrific NFL career.

  12. I think a TE/ WR that can be a redzone threat and turn fgs into tds could be a huge difference. I like Watkins but I love Ebron for this team.

The only exception I'm seeing to getting an OT is Ebron because I agree with you that he would be a huge difference right off the bat. I'm having a hard time getting around the need for an OT and the presence of three blue chippers right there on the board. I'd go for the OT but I wouldn't be too disappointed if they picked Ebron.

  13. Who is going to help us get into the playoffs NEXT year? I think the OT is the key to opening up the running game and keeping EJ from missing games by providing excellent pass coverage. There are three blue chip OT's in the draft and one of them should fall to us. Whether they "like" the bills or not is irrelevant.
