  1. This thread is epic... It MUST be a conspiracy to play the same team in a game that doesn't matter every year. It just has to. It is not only a conspiracy, despite the fact that it has been that way just shy of forever, it is indicative of how bad the Bills are.

To whine and cry about this shows that there is nothing that certain Bills "fans" will not cry about.

    A new low...congratulations.

Special kudos go to those that point out that other fans that weren't outraged by this weren't smart enough to "get" it. This is the equivalent of nothing. It would mean nothing if we stopped doing this, or if we did this for the rest of time. Zero.

I am a homer, and an eternal optimist about our team's chances, and I hate losing to New England all of the time. I will not go so far to lend credence the idea that we lose to them because they have extra time to prepare. We lose to them because they are an extremely efficient high functioning program, and we have been anything but that. I do think we are turning things around, and the upper hand will soon be on the other foot...regardless of the positioning of the bye week.

  2. If Clayton said the Bills were going to the Super Bowl, I'd still have the same opinion of him -- pencil-necked geek who doesn't have a clue and only regurgitates what he has been told by his "insiders."

    Exactly.

    I don't give a flying !@#$ what Baby-Carrot Dick Clayton says.

The Senator nailed it with Fitz will have a better season than Brady.

It's that time of year...I think we'll surprise a few people this year, and by that time, they'll all be saying they "knew the potential was there," and they'll be riding Fitzy's nuts because he went to Harvard, and we can tell them all to go !@#$ themselves.

I wish that these guys would acknowledge the **** that is said about them. Maybe not call out everybody, like BCDC, by name, but at least acknowledge they are getting slammed. It would be great when the players were interviewed if there were copies of articles saying how bad they are hanging in lockers etc. Use this **** as fodder to rally the troops. I would like nothing more than to see BCDC eat ****. The media wouldn't know what to do if they had to cover the Bills, and stop sucking off Rex and BB.

  3. What a joke!! Bills fans have justification to do whatever they want to, don't you know? We haven't been to the playoffs since 2000!!!!!!!!

Of course I am being sarcastic, and I believe that people should conduct themselves with consideration of their affect on others. That is, apparently, absurd notion. I go to games because I want to. If I were anywhere near as miserable as many people here, I would have quit a long time ago. It just isn't worth it. It becomes increasingly scary that although it was stated in plain English that Flanagan was deeply hurt by the feeling that he let down Baltimore, people will argue differently to justify being an !@#$.

If you want to be a dick, at least own it. At least take responsibility for your actions. If you are unable to be compassionate and put yourself in somebody else's shoes for a minute, don't be a complete douche and place the blame of the consequences of your actions on the victim of your misplaced aggression.

I am sure that is moral grandstanding, or too kitty, or whatever...and that's fine. I am not perfect, and I don't pretend to be, but I do try to do the right thing. If you have an inordinate amount of hate for a sports figure, I am willing to bet it really has nothing to do with them, but rather your pent up frustration with other aspects of your life. After all IT IS A !@#$ING GAME. If you think that the fact that you have a small dick, or your dog pushes you around, or that your boss **** in your lunchbox makes it acceptable for you to transfer your frustration to others and then justify the consequences of your failure to deal with the real issues in your life...we'll have to agree to disagree.

Defense of taking your frustrations out on sports players, who train hard and compete at levels your can't even dream of, because they "let your down" is pathetic. I don't care if you pay to see them or whatever other poor excuse gets served up. A rose is a rose, and an !@#$ is an !@#$, try to justify all you like, but you are still an !@#$.

Be careful tonight is the third preseason game. It still doesn't count, and it's kid's night, but that doesn't mean that the Bills can't ruin your life!!!

  4. If we only had the offensive line we had last year...

Our defense got stronger. If our D was better last year, we could have been a .500 team. The D was everybody's problem, but now that they have addressed the defense, considerably, everybody has a new reason we'll e 0-16.

Every year there are surprise teams. Buffalo is that team this year. I wonder if any of the fans would appreciate it?

  5. Relax...you do remember there was a lockout right? Everything out of camp is that he is the real deal...I did not want to draft him personally, but they have said he has been impressive. Judging a rookie QB in his first 3 weeks of preseason is a bit premature normally and completely stupid in a year with no OTA's...

Yeah! The only team that should be in midseason form is the Bills. Ease up on everybody else. Wait...the point is to be as negative as possible about as much as possible? ****!! I missed the memo.

Relax it's just preseason. Now if he was completing 60% that would be proof he's punched his ticket to Canton.

    PTR

Either way the Bills screwed the pooch.

  6. Of course it's not mentioned. It is socially unacceptable to be positive or optimistic. You need to be a negative prick that has it all figured out.

It is the !@#$ing preseason. Unless I missed something in the new CBA; these games count for jack ****.

I see what you're "just sayin'" and I agree. Just be careful not being a "realist."

  7. The problem is that the Bills need a QB...we just gotta have one!!

We need to be careful to get one that can throw the ball well, and make a bunch of rat tag receivers appear as a strength this team. He needs to be smart, and not from some community college in Cambridge, with a 2 on his Wonderlic. It would also help if the guy didn't have a bunch of character issues, and he was the kind of guy that wore his wedding ring on the field...somebody without a serious liquor habit.

I don't know where we are going to find a guy like that, and although Gabbert wasn't good in college, I'm sure he'll figure it out in the pros...no doubt.

We HAVE TO DRAFT A QB!!!!

  8. The one with the actual conviction.

There was a whole end to the story with Ben that you're not bothering to read...but don't cloud this good argument with facts...it's not as juicy then

The other good part about all of the votes for Ben is that if 95% of you were out, and some hot little coed was following you around and wanted you to give it to her...it would be a dream come true. Probably the first time many got !@#$ing laid.

On the bright side...how many of you could drown a dog? Just hold it underwater until it stopped moving? How about electrocuting a dog? I sure as !@#$ couldn't and it would haunt me for the rest of my life to behave like that, as would it a large percentage of the people here.

You just can't wrap your head around the dog thing...it's not real to you. The dude that can pull ass wherever he goes...you've never liked him. Especially the big dude that could kick the !@#$ out of you, and still !@#$ the hottest chick in the bar. Oh yeah, he's a multi-millionaire, too.

  9. A cerebral quarterback who took a no name offensive line and always had them in the correct protections so they were able to give some semblance of decent pass blocking?

A cerebral quarterback who took a bunch of rookie wide receivers and managed to get them all on the same page?

A cerebral quarterback who was able to make his reads quickly and get rid of the ball on time to avoid unnecessary sacks?

    Yeah. I thought so.

Nothing against Vince Young. Certainly teams will be interested when the Titans actually release him. But Fitz did a very good job last year for us and will do so again this year.

    Great Post

  10. I don't know why the people think the concept of the trade down has anything to do with who we are going to take.

We want teams to think that Cincinnati is taking the QB, after the issues with Palmer.

Since we pick in front of Cincy...out pick is the most valuable pick in the draft to those that want the guy they are going to draft.

  11. Oh my, the little cloud that cried.....

Gosh maybe you should start on some Prozac and stay away from sharp objects or things you may hang yourself with. You know, this is easy to fix for you, go root for the Jets! You seem to anyway.

This is awesome...and considering it is 11:20 PM, this is the post of the day, not others need apply.

  12. He knew somebody: his dad is Jack Buck, the longtime broadcaster at KMOX-AM and CBS Radio/TV. Joe cut his teeth broadcasting St. Louis Cardinals baseball games and worked his way onto the national stage. I personally like Joe, maybe it's due to his connection to the Cardinals, even though many people despise him.

People piss and moan about the announcers, regardless of who it is. It is the cool thing to do to be a negative prick about everything. It is easy to just say everything sucked, and sheep like nothing more than a good pile on. The announcers are usually one of the easier targets. They have to talk the entire game, and football announcers are not familiar with the particular teams on the level a baseball/hockey announcer is.

I would love to hear one the !@#$s that pisses and moans about he announcers to call a Seahawks/Panthers game, or two teams that they don't necessarily follow. They would be tongue tied and crying in ten minutes.

  13. While he may be just one of those "exception to the rule" players, I think I saw somewhere that Dan Marino got a 15 or 16 on the Wonderlic. That's on par with Leodis McKelvin's score! Apparently, you don't need to be a super genius to be a successful NFL quarterback.

I guess that depends on your definition of success. I would rather have rings that records. Marino went to one SB early on, then was our B word for the rest of his career.

If all you want is big numbers, Bledsoe was a "franchise" QB for us.

  14. This was being discussed in another forum, and I get a kick out of the responses. People that want to draft Newton or Gabbert get very, very angry at this. They act like you made this up. You know, like how Al Gore made up Global Warming, and claimed to create the Interweb.

The results of this test are pretty hard to argue. Is is 100%? No. Does it appear to hit more than it misses. Definitely. Will people always think they can "outsmart" it? Yes. Do I want the Bills to keep trying to go against the grain, especially after reviewing past results? No.

  15. Okay, here's a comment: They're both dullards, their vocal tone is in the same range so there's no contrast (which is tedious on the listener), Buck outright annoys me with his pompous delivery, and neither announcer has an ounce of poetry. Then again, the majority of sports announcers these days are drab non-entities, completely interchangeable cliche-spouting monkeys, Stepford announcers who are unplugged after a game and stored in a closet until the next time they're needed.

But what else should we expect? The whole NFL control and presentation of its "product" has become weirdly plastic, inauthentic and animatronic, a manufactured and staged "production" from top to bottom without heart or soul, all based on market studies and consultant input. One example: A league owned and operated for the benefit of greedy billionaire ego-maniac owners sanctimoniously wrapping itself in faux patriotism with the reading of the Declaration of Independence precisely at a time when it is doing all it can to lower players earnings, increase their work load while ignoring the financial and physical suffering of its many "revered" ex-players. It was as cynical as Al Capone joining the Temperance Union, or the Czar reading the Communist Manifesto.

    How's that?

    That's good.

  16. Where is it written that you must be convicted to be guilty? So you think OJ isn't guilty of double homicide? Jack the Ripper isn't guilty of murder? How much money do you think Ben's two victims got? Notice how silent they are now. Wake up dude. If it smells like a turd it is a turd.

You should have read more than the headline...but that's the American Way!!!

You're on a real roll here, in your fantasy, and I hate to cloud your argument with facts, but did you know that the girl Ben "raped" was given the same test that put Tyson away, and it showed that the sex was consensual? Did you know that she followed him around town all night, to like 5 different bars?

Of course you didn't know that, and you don't care. It removes the sensationalism from your argument, which is all that matters.

It might smell like a turd, but you look like an !@#$.

  17. We are one of the, if not the absolute, worst at drafting players.

You know that the majority of the SB teams were drafted right? An unprecedented, likely once in a lifetime, stretch of great teams, with almost every key player coming via the draft... It could be a lot worse.

I am sorry for clouding your argument with fact. You are free to return to your "whoa is me" life.

This will be Buddy's second draft...again, I know that doesn't mean much when you really, really want to just piss and moan, but if you give it a couple years, I think you could be pleased, if that's what you're into.

  18. As Darth Vader said, "Luke, I'm your father"

This actually is another demonstration that this is the Hall of FAME and not the Hall of Great Stats or the Hall of Good Character.

I have no problem with his winning this popularity contest 1st time out or whenever.

The HOF voting is under no illusion (except for folks who get exercised about the results) that it is about even reasonable character (OJ is still in) or about good stats.

What do you mean? Deion didn't have good stats? All time leader in non-offensive TD's...Pretty good to me. Character? You might not like him, but what were his character issues?

If you don't like it...don't like it. You just can't make **** up to shape a weak argument.

This almost sounded true...hate to cloud your argument with facts.
