And he’s thrown an INT on that same play a bunch of times. Remember Peppers in the NE game saying how he did it? This time, the DB took a half step back to bait Josh to throw to the low guy and then jumped the route. The book is out.

One of Josh's weakness is that he really doesn't read defenses all that well. It gets overlooked by his athletic play, but good DCs know it and it's a repeated problem.

If you really think about it, the offense gave the team the game-winning go ahead score twice! The defense just had to make one stop and they couldn’t do it.

Instead they give up nearly 40 points.

I said when Milano went down it was a devastating loss, and when you add White and the other injuries into the mix it's a miracle the defense isn't giving up 40 points every game.

Exactly this. That was a damn good football game between two really great teams. But because the Bills lost to the Pats, Jets and Broncos it ended their season. Oh well. I could get angry, but what good does that do?

Yeah, as bad as this loss was, the losses to the Jets and the Pats are the games keeping the Bills out of the playoffs. They were inexcusable losses. With that said, I guess curses are curses for a reason, and the Bills certainly are cursed.

Because of the risk of interception and field position.

20 seconds isn't a thing.  It's hysterical to make it one.

And if it is intercepted then this thread has a different title and the coach is called a moron.

You don't force anything, but if you get a couple of 20 yd plays a FG might win it. It was a cowardly move when OT is at best a crapshoot.

hard to believe since he is the winningest coach in franchise history, but if you say so.

Looking back at history, the McDermott era is starting to resemble the 2nd Lou Saban era and the Chuck Knox era. They both got the Bills respectable after being horrible, made the playoffs but didn't get to the Super Bowl and then after a few years the goodness faded away. The Bills are 5-5 in the easy part of their schedule. At the very worst they should have been 7-3 in these 10 games and more likely 8-2. Now, a 6 or 7 win season is likely.

Cook fumbles...3 points Denver...difference in the game.

Gabe Davis lets a ball go through his hands for an INT deep in Denver territory...3 or 7 points...difference in the game.

Josh Allen throws a stupid pass before the half ends. Denver scores 3....difference in the game.

Josh can't hand the ball off to Cook and drops it when the Bills seem to  be gaining momentum....possible points off the board. possible difference in the game.

Taron Johnson doesn't turn around....difference in the game.

Bills have for some damned unknown reason (coaching) 12 men on the field and Denver misses a FG and we should have won...difference in the game.

The first 5 have nothing to do with coaching. They are all on the players. I'm pretty sure Dorsey didn't call Josh's sucky throw at the end of the first half, or his missed handoff to Cook, or his other bad throws. Cook didn't fumble at Dorsey's direction, and Davis hasn't been coached not to catch a ball. As bad as the coaches may be (and it is a very mediocre staff), a huge part of the blame falls on the players, particularly on the offense, including Allen, who without a doubt has regressed.

  7. Lots of teams get tough schedules every year, some of which is dictated by the team's results from the prior year, so the Bills getting a tough schedule this year isn't surprising. However, it appears the Bills got an extra dose of difficult. Their most difficult non-divisional games are on the road (Dallas being the exception), a game overseas with the Bills being the guinea pig of Goodell's London scheduling "experiment," and a late bye. The one bright spot was the early season Miami game being in Buffalo rather than Miami like last year. I don't know how much human input there is in the schedule making, but it seems the Bills got the short end of the stick this year.

  8. Given the Bills' somewhat uneven performance so far this season, every game seems extremely important, but this week seems especially so. Still facing road games at KC, Philly, LAC and Miami, with 3 losses already on the board, the Bills' margin of error has narrowed heading into Game 8. Plus, it's a conference game and the Bills have already dug themselves a hole with 3 conference losses. I just hope the 10 days between games allows the Bills to be as healthy as possible and afforded the coaching staff sufficient time to dial down on how to beat the Bengals. Hopefully last year's drubbing by the Bengals really incentivizes the Bills and they avoid their recent 1 quarter blues.

I don't think that tweet lowered the bar.  It just stated where the bar is.

The NFL season is a long one.  I tend to make comparisons to the Patriots dynasty - but even that team, one of the top in history, had swoons, bad games against bad teams, and sub-par performances.

Unfortunately in a week to week league the Bills have 3 losses already, more than the other teams mentioned. You dig yourself a deep enough hole and the week to week league becomes a week to week walk to no playoffs land.
