  1. its almost like it was photoshopped
  2. Hi Thanks for the note. My sincerest apologies that the intent of my article was missed. I love Buffalo; one of my best friends is from there, and I spent a perfectly enjoyable weekend there a few years back. It was meant as a satire of those who think of your city - and mine - as out-of-the-way dumps in need of some Ivy League sophistication. If the intent was missed, it's because I probably shouldn't make attempts at satire. Anyway, thanks for reading, even if I only enraged you. Can we call it even after what your Bills did to my Chiefs in Week 1? Reeves Dude, Could you have spent less time on your blip about Fitz? You just couldn't resist blasting Buffalo with the same old crappy cut and paste ****. Cold winters declining population...blah, blah, blah, Did you use Google to write that or did you visit here and come up with these grand insights on your own? New York's winter's equally suck.
  3. Here is the way I kind of see it. You can win with a top rated offense and or defense that grinds out statistics - maybe say like old Bill Parsells teams or the Jets. Grind it out, let your statistically superior team have its results regress to the mean. You can get beat once in a while but after 16 games....you have won 10 to 12 of them. The other way to do is skip the stats and MAKE PLAYS. The Pats have been living on this for the last 8 years. Bills are statistically almost equal to the Pats - and in the same way have a 4-1 winning record - why? Because both teams MAKE BIG important plays. The Bills have been making plays on both sides of the ball all year long - big offensive and big defensive plays that leap frog the stats. I do beleive that the league has changed since the Parcells days and the factor of winning has changed from grinding out stats - to that of having a team that makes plays. The question the thread starter posited - is this 4-1 record a statistic anomoly? I don't think so - I think our coaching staff and other staffs (New England) have teams and game plans that enables the team to MAKE PLAYS. Unsustainable? Good question - after 16 games we will know!
  4. The refs did blow it with the clock at the end - should have been at 1:53 instead of 1:43....home cookin?
  5. Made the same comment to my wife last night
  6. Big Cat....Do I know you? Know anyone named marto? danno?
  7. Next up......"When did you start hating your country?"
  8. Well - There is hating him because he is on a rival - and that can be expected - but to add jealousy fueled analysis just diminishes your opinion. Brady is one of the all time great QB's - that is a fact - doesn't mean you can't hate him.
  9. I always love - er I me loathe it - when some fan, local radio personality....starts with "I want to see...or I need to see....". What are you guys....on the coaching staff? Owners...? Jerry Sullivan? What are you going to do if you don't see what you are looking for....start a thread.....?
  10. Here is my Bledsoe story - I am golfing at a local cc and Bledsoe and a local tv talent personality car rep are in front of me (who I know - hey it is East Aurora - its like high school here) - we catch them - it is the day after a preseason saturday game - West Herr introduces me to drew - I say hi, welcome, and crack a joke - "Aren't you 'sposed to be breaking down films from last nights game?" Hey looks at me and says he has been playing FB for 26 years and doesn't need to look at film anymore. He and West Herr can hit the ball a mile BTW
  11. But they just had "Match Game!!!" Absolutely hysterical - I had to pull over - couldn't stop laughing!!! Sabretooth...........
  12. The whole la stadium thing is very interesting - as a business model - it is the same a Gerry Stadium in Dallas - by requiring private funding now for these stadiums - essentially what you now have is owning a stadium that you need to fill to make a return for the private investors - the NFL team simply becomes one element to making the stadium pay for itself....and that won't happen simply with 10 sundays a year. The business model includes all sorts of other attractions to fill and pay off the investors. What you have is a stadium owner using a football team......instead of a football team owner using the city/county/state supplied stadium. Also interesting because public funding for stadiums is gone for the future - prolly good for our bills as LA is the only location left in the US where a privately funded stadium could make sense Of course there is Toronto.......
  13. Seriously - have you heard those guys on Howard Stern......it is almost painful to listen to as they humiliate the host.....you have to get a bunch of people to do it - calling in from different numbers....I assume that Dope would simply not do any calls - maybe a long term plan of consistant needling would be good
  14. I always thought it would be great to organize a call in assault on Dope and his Lapdog similar to what the two guys on the Stern show do - I think its Sal and Richard - where they just do call in after call in of staged calls to humiliate/antagonize Radio Talk shows....I think we could get Dope to actually blow a fuse....
  15. Hey - Steve Johnson - wait till you get into the endzone before celebrating....have a little patience before making yourself look like TO/Ochocinco....
  16. Use one of your buttons for AM 590 out of Toronto - their topics may not always be relevant - but often they are - they have real guests and real topics and they talk like adults....its almost like - sort of - sports talk for say ....smart people....
  17. Actually - I agree....if we are not sold on Gabbert - Peterson seems like the most sure fire pick - and at this point we need a guy who plays like a #3 pick.
  18. Since i started this thread...... I used to be All Cam.....but not so sure any more..... If Blaine Gabbert is the real thing - I would take him - if not all the better as we get a top D player Either way it is probably good
  19. http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/273150-panthers-more-likely-to-hold-pick-take-newton?xid=cnnbin&hpt=Sbin
  20. So if we get NEwton and he becomes good - does that mean you will continue not to watch?
  21. I can only relate my story - I went to Michigan State way back when - (all pro linebacker - Super Bowl - for the Giants played across LT) Carl Banks lived in my dorm and the head RA went down to break up some goofing around - Banks punched him and broke his jaw. Nothing happened to banks - BTW he was probably the meanest looking dude I have ever seen. On a lighter note - when Playboy did "Girls of the Big Ten" the MSU girl lived in my dorm too!!
  22. It's like the Chapelle Show (greatest 2 season show in history) when he goes in slow motion. http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index.jhtml?title=better-in-slow-motion&videoId=219355
  23. Well - among the talking heads of course.....Banks, Schefter, dude from Gr55 who is at the combine......plus it seems to make sense to me. Both the Bills and Panthers need a franchise qb, a franchise qb means more to a football team X2 than any other position, and there appears to be 2 franchise QB's that are there - ergo 1.Newton 2. someone else 3. Gabbert - or other way around. i am not advocating the pick - I just think that arrangement seems to make sense.
  24. I work at home - or travel - so I always have the radio on. Seems like the smoke is clearing among the talking heads....the Panthers and the Bills are going to take QB's - so its either going to be CN or BG. I am good with either one.
