Samuel 920 yards
Kincaid 880 yards
Shakir 650 yards
Coleman 550 yards
Cook 475 yards
800-900 yards from everyone else.
Allen 4,300 to 4,400 hundred yards. Hopefully about 5-7 more passing TD's, less rushing TD's as Cook, Davis, and other backs get more, and 5 less INT's.

It's a futile obsession.
I want a #1 offense - not a #1 receiver. We have 2 position units that have complimentary players to give even the best DC's nightmares - Tight End and Running Back. And we have a solid O-line, and a very CAPABLE receiver corps, that has speed, good hands and versatility. And we still have a top 2 QB in the league.
This offense will be top 3-4 in the league. I'm tired of the hand-wringing about the WR position, and not having a "true #1." We almost beat the SB champs with our "true #1" barely showing up & dropping a game-changing pass.
Kincaid is very promising. Cook made a great leap in year #2. They are good. I hope I will be proven wrong, but they do not yet create nightmares for any DC. They could become that.
The only #1 is Allen right now.
Outside of Buffalo and sport stat fanatics, Cook and Kincaid do not register on the "scary good or elite" scale.
Kelce does. Mahomes does. Jones on their Defense does. Coach Reid does.
The reason why Bills want a #1 WR is that the margin of error is so small when you have only one (1) match up nightmare and the best teams have 2+.

A #1 receiver/TE is someone that consistently makes big plays and can have a 100 yards or a TD fairly regularly.
They can beat you with production, a big play, or a high pressure situation because they've done it before and everyone knows the QB is looking for them.
Their presence forces a defense to account for them often creating easier opportunities for others.
Diggs had the numbers of a #1, he had the right QB, but there was very little around him so the offense was usually a one-trick pony. Moulds or Evans could have been but did not have the QB. Reed, Lofton, and Thurman Thomas made a 3 headed monster were all 3 could individually or collectively serve as a #1 in various games and matches with a QB.
There are few #1 WR's or TE's in the NFL, probably no more than 10-12 at a time.
#1's cause nightmares. Kelce always gets the first down. Hill can get a 50 yard TD anytime and get a 100+ any gain. Guys like Jefferson can make a good QB look like a 1st ballot HOFer.
Harrison Jr, Nabers, and Odunze all have the potential to be a #1. Brock Bowers if he gets a QB.
Brian Thomas looks like a possible #1 with the right coaching, work ethic, and an environment. Keon Coleman looks like a #1, really is a #3 right now, who with the right environment may become a solid #2 at his peak.

I think your view on Coleman is better-stated than mine. There were 3 receivers who I think fit better and have more potential.
I would have preferred (if available) a receiver at #60, however, I think the size speed, and versatility of Bishop was good value. Was the Bishop dislike because of McDermott obsession with DB's or more of concerns about Bishop's ability or character?
Thanks!

Thoughts on the overall picks in the draft? This can be as a result of other players available, value, position, or preference
Like: Cole Bishop, Sedrick Van Pran, and Javon Solomon
Ok: Tylan Grable, Daquean Hardy, Ray Davis
Hate: Keon Coleman, DeWayne Carter, and then all the other picks.
Draft Grade By Positions Needed: C
By Talent/Value: D
-
WR Franklin, Rice, Baker, Walker, Flourney
OL McCormick,G Van Pran, C, and Bortolini, C and Limmer, C, C. Jones, OT
RB's Guerredo, Allen, Estime, Gore Jr
QB Backup Options: Milton or Rattler
DE/DT Davis, DT, Jefferson, DT, Boyd, DT, Booker, DE, M. Kamara, DE, Solomon, DE
LB Eichenberg, Spreights
CB Jackson, Devonshire Stiggers
S Hicks, Oladapo, Mustapha, Carlies, Taylor
P...some competition (Taylor, Rekrow)

Good player...good pick...and a need.
Now, maybe we can get Franklin by trading up early in 3rd with our 3rd and maybe some of our day 3 picks?
I don't know.

No...no...no!
Terrible...3 receivers better than him!

If he didn't have the injury history, I would be down. He is fluid and an elite route runner with great hands. But he can't stay on the field.
I know everything that every kid in America knows about Franklin, but I recently learned that he f-ed every woman that he could get his hands on even after he was married. I mean, given the fact that he's been dead for over 200 years I guess that doesn't matter, but it is a data point.
And, he had a skullet!

Please...no...no...no!
Too expensive...too injury prone, too old, too much draft capital, and too much a replication (albeit it a better version) of Shakir and Cook.
Need a bigger receiver

Best part about Mock Drafts is no matter how much we get invested, how much we read, hear opinions, or follow mock drafts, we may get 4-5 players with the team and pick we thought they would go, no matter how hard we try in the first round to make predictions.

I would choose coaching as I find joy and fun in giving back. Though, the only thing I would be probably qualified to help teach would be stretching on the athletic side and financial planning and principles as a workshop at those rookie symposiums.

If contention means a playoff spot, then "Yes." If it means that we will be at least playing in the conference championship, then "No."
We take a small step back and then with more draft capital and a better cap situation, the team puts itself into a legitimate contender again going forward

This is really one of the worst posts ever. Sometimes the best post is the one you never start.

If he is the 2nd receiver, we draft, I am okay with McConkey. He is well-rounded and should be a good player. I just believe based off of tape and physical measurables that Allen can get these guys to a higher level: Thomas, Mitchell, or Legette.
And, as others have said, McConkey seems to be a repetition of what we already have as far as targets for a slot receiver (Shakir) and more of a slot type TE in Kincaid.

I think of Mike Tyson's voice being married to a female horse. 🤔

Am I in the wrong place? Testing...testing...testing. I could have sworn this was a Bills forum.

With MHJ, Nabers, and Odunze off the board, the Bills move to draft Bowers TE.
What does this look like? Catch and run mismatch TEs on the field all the time. R2, get a WR.
There is no question that the Bills hit WR HEAVY. They have no choice at all. The best ball player right now is Cook,,, then..? Shakir? Kincaid? Talk about unknowns considering this is a contender team, with a super young and inexperienced OC, and a defensive minded HC who is a liability to the offensive entity.
What in the world would defenses do with Allen/Cook/Bowers/Kincaid/Legette/Samuel/

The only problem with this idea is that Brock Bowers will not go lower than #15. I doubt Bills will trade away that many picks for a TE which would then make it even more unlikely that they will have their second rounder to get Leggette.
Bowers is a great prospect. Unfortunately, picking at #28 does not help. Nice thought though.

Troy Franklin. Not worth it at 28. Give me Mitchell.
I like Franklin in that 37-60 range.
Good pick if we end up trading back to early 40s and get more draft capital. If Bills want to double-dip at receiver then I would strongly consider trading up for him at Philly's 2nd second round pick at #53 if Leggette is not available. If there are 3-4 prospects at several positions a few picks before #60 and Franklin goes before #53, then BPA on their draft board that fits a need at DE/DT/S/C/OT.

Josh Allen is the only one.

Salary cap is going to continue to go up. Still, up to $30 million on a linebacker/DE hybrid is quite an investment with so many other positions unsettled.
He'll play well barring injury, but methinks Jacksonville will be stuck at that level slightly above mediocrity over the life of this contract. I expect a 7-11 win team with maybe one playoff victory during the time.

So we’ve already been eliminated? Interesting.
For winning the Super Bowl next season, yes.

Mitchell at 28.
If we are into Legette, Franklin, or McKonkey at it's about pick #45, then call.
Trading all or most of our draft capital next year seems foolish.
I mean no disrespect, but the Bills will not win the Super Bowl next year. Get some young receivers and some good depth/developmental pieces and grow the young talent.
If a top 5-7 DE, DT, OT, CB, or Safety that is between 24-30 years old becomes available next offseason in free agency or trade, then you strike with maybe our #1 or one of our #2's.
Otherwise, bulls through the draft.
Kansas Ciry had 3 Stars on their team: Mahimes, Kelce, and Jones. They are good everywhere else.
We have Allen. Let's get better with the draft. If a star is available, strike in 2025 or 2026 if that is the missing or key piece needed.

The top 3 (Jefferson, Lamb, and Chase)will resign or go to place with biggest offer.
Higgins or Aiyuk work if they recognize they are in the receiver 10-20 range and should cost about 5-7 million less a year than the top 3-5 guys.
Diggs is in for a rude awakening. He will have a solid year with Texans. He just voided roughly $75 million after this season. If he resigns, it should be no more than $75 million wherever he goes.
As for me, give me Adonai Mitchell (trade up in 2nd to get one of Leggette, Franklin, or McConkey) or stay put and get the receiver they brought in on a top 30 visit from North Carolina.
Those two with Samuels, Shakir, and Kincaid ought to be enough. If not, then grab your FA WR needed with the cap room in 2025.
For those that don’t like the Coleman pick

These are all true statements. With that said, other than a handful of people in the world that know where Kutztown University is, keep in mind that that their were less teams, more rounds, and maybe one grainy video or two to dissect Andre Reed's game.
Bills had a good GM at that time. Reed was great. He was the 2nd option for Kelly behind Thomas and occasionally Lofton.
In summary, Reed in 85-86 versus Coleman in 2024-2025 as far as analysis is a lot like comparing CGI capabilities in movies 🎬 from 85 till today as it relates to player evaluation.
Keon Coleman may have a good career but there is a million times more information, analysis, video, and resources to make it more likely that Coleman will be at his peak a #2 whose skillset and production scream a #3.
