  1. idk if you are the one who created the video or are friends with him but yeah its not too engaging or insightful lol.

Made it to 0:57 before calling it a day. His thoughts on Leonard Floyd?: "Mmm, he's a good dude". Could've said it better myself lol

Something like: Floyd's been 1 of the more consistent pass rushers in the game. One has to wonder how much of his success was attributed to playing alongside Donald & Von. But he's incredibly durable, not missing a game in what 5 seasons? And he's versatile & quick enough to move him around the line & drop him back into coverage. Could be the most impactful signing this offseason which is what we need him to be.

  2. i know its a long offseason, but reading a 6 page Tyrod thread in 2023 is not anything im prepared to do lol.

Tentative Tyrod added some level of consistency to the QB spot, and we all know he's a nice guy, but what else should he be "revered" for? lol

Its Jim Kelly, Fitz & Josh, with Josh potentially being the best of all of them. Tyrod i guess would be the best of the worst after them?  If thats me showing reverence for Tyrod than so be it lol

  3. dont see the need for these extensions right now. Just like i didnt see the need for Dawson Knox's or Ed Oliver's at the time either.

There can be benefits to waiting to make these extensions, many discussed in this thread previously.

But so much for Sean being on the "hot seat" calling defensive plays this year tho. Looks like we've given him some longer leash to play with.

Superbowl or bust but with no option to pivot, really is bust i guess. It doesnt seem we're on an upward ascent, seems we've regressed but with reasons right? lol.

If the team takes a step back this year, God's help us. Superbowl or bust.

  4. Cant help but think: this is how teams SB windows close sooner than they should.

Beanes choice of extensions & the timing & amount for certain players seems to me at least to be a net negative.

I still dont know why we extended Dawson Knox when we didnt have to & the same with Ed. What are we even paying Ed for? To guarantee we at least have a body?

Its so stupid, everyone else here has covered it. Best hope i had for Ed this year was him being hungry for that next contract lol. But lets just pay top 11 money to a guy whose been a disappointment so far? Superbowl bound LETS GO!

What do i know tho? Ed probably looks like a terror in shorts, showing off that speed that made Beane draft him so high in the 1st place. But can he do it in pads? haha

  5. From the varied responses in this thread from people who know the area, you can see its not an easy decision & every place has pros & cons.
I would probably pick some hotel downtown, close to restaurants & you dont really have to worry about rifraff as police are everywhere in the "Entertainment District".

You could probably take a shuttle to the stadium or meet up with someone or some tailgating group as well.

The alternative idea would be to get like an Air BNB in some quaint village home in East Aurora or Hamburg, Orchard Park & avoid the city of Buffalo altogether.

You'll be fine with either choice i imagine & as long as you get to the game & have a good time, you'll be good to go regardless.

Its too bad its such a difficult choice tho. And unfortunate our new stadium after decades of a community discussing it, with billions designated for a new stadium, we made next to no attempt to make a more attractive game day experience for fans like yourself. But so go the limits of small town thinking i guess lol. Good luck with ur decision & hope u have fun!

  6. Imagine 4 NFL quality rb's on this team, only to not run the ball this year. Sign me up!

If Murray wants to come here for veteran minimum than come join the party i guess. But he's not going to give us much of anything we dont already have. For a team that doesnt even run much, getting Murray wont move that needle at all. Would it hurt? No not really. Could it help? Sure. Remains to be seen if we can run the ball at all... or if we'll even try.

PS: i dont mean this to sound negative, just one of those days lol

  7. this theory might make sense if we were getting production from sources other than Diggs now but we're not. Thats essentially the crux of the problem.

Poor production from wr2, wr3, etc. Diggs is our only truly dependable option & if we got rid of him & added more Gabe Davis's instead, we'd just be dropping the ball... very much like he does.

If anything this situation calls for another Diggs to be added to the team (if that were possible). Perhaps theres a solid wr we can add to our team instead?

  8. i never quite understood why we paid Knox the money we did, when we did, when there wasn't a pressing need to.

Its not like there were a bunch of teams chomping at the bit to get Dawson Knox. And its not like he was becoming disgruntled & needed an extension. The timing was just surprising, including the amount.

But the way you optimize Knox is by utilizing him. Design plays for him. Do the chip & go like Kelce does. It seems a lot of how we use Knox is on plays that take longer to develop. Its what has plagued a lot of this offense at times as well. Take the easy underneath stuff that the defense gives you. 1 on 1, Knox on a LB or safety, box it out like basketball, Knox & Allen should win most the times. You just gotta take it. And its something we just havent been willing to do.

  9. Josh has been getting better at it but maybe he wouldn't need to slide so much if we by year 6 had some resemblance of a running attack. You'd think by now we would've unlocked the mystical foundation to being able to run the ball.

But its unsustainable having your QB running for his life as soon as the ball is snapped.

Its unsustainable that this team chokes in big moments or that it makes grave coaching decisions at pivotal moments. If we could fix those too, that'd be great Coach.

  10. thanks for the post OP. Fwiw: I took it as the BILLS didnt make much of an effort to get Lavonte period & Lavonte is confirming this by saying: perhaps it wouldve been different had Von (who by extension is the BILLS) had reached out too. He's not saying he wasn't interested because Von didn't reach out, he's just saying we didnt make much of an effort, with Von not making any.

If Lavonte didn't clarify this, some might think Von reached out to bring him here & Lavonte turned him down... which as he stated was not the case.

  11. 2025. 2023 will be another lost season, but halfway thru we promote Washington to be DC, 2024 we run it back but with a new DC from outside the organization, & then 2025 is when we move on from McD & bring in a new HC & DC & OC.

That'd be what i hope doesnt happen, but we're not changing course & we're going backwards. Without changing course, in the absence of winning or advancing further in the playoffs the inevitable happens... i dont see what else we can do. Winning would fix all of this but it wont just happen by wanting it.

Something will need to change. The longer this goes on where we can't get over this hump, the more significant changes will need to come.

Hope this is all bs & wrong & that im still alive to see us win the SB one day

Take it a step further, Cincy has a 1A and 1B because they got their QBs knee blown out and they tanked a season. If Buffalo fans want that, then I dont know what to tell them.

i get the sentiment but you dont need to tank to get a talented wr. As evidenced by the wr's available in the past 2 drafts we could've taken where we drafted.

Christian Watson or George Pickens last year. Elijah Moore, Rondale Moore, Amon-Ra St Brown the year prior. Sure its not Jamarr Chase but not many are.

But it takes proper player evaluation & drafting these guys too. Saying its due to us being too good just seems like a misdirection or an excuse, for any position group, because there are & have been talented players out there available for us to choose. You just have to pick the 'right' ones i guess.

The difference is, Atlanta already had a stadium in that location. You got rid of one for another one. The Bills play in no where Orchard Park. Not downtown Buffalo. A city in need of something. A city that is currently growing in some aspects. But at the same time losing population. Creating a stadium downtown with not just the stadium but other attractions like bars, restaurants, a hotel maybe, some shopping maybe. Creating a corridor of things to do in that area would have only been good for the area. Instead you’re building another stadium in the same spot, in the middle of nowhere OP. That’s why there’s no benefits moving forward. They aren’t going to build new hotels in OP, and likely the 5 bars and restaurants in the immediate area will continue to be there and continue to be as small minded as they’ve been for the last 40+ years.

I know here in Buffalo for decades i've heard of the need for a new & larger convention center & the economic boon to the city we'd get if larger conventions could be held here. I'm no engineer or developmental planner but integrating the 2 concepts together could've been a wonderful opportunity. Isn't that what they did with the AT&T Stadium in Dallas? They use it to bring in big events during the off-season which in-turn brings in millions in revenue each year? Not just to the stadium itself, but to all the local hotels & businesses now booked due to the influx of visitors? What a great idea or concept! Wish we would've thought of it.

Its just 1 example of the contrast between smart forward thinking planning & whatever we had.

Yeah, the point is to build a football stadium to play football in. This is useless for some people, I guess.

Not useless but narrow in its focus or in its vision. Banks are collapsing, taxpayer dollars are a valuable commodity.

It'd be nice to try to maximize that investment & benefit to the community at large & not just to a franchise.

Sure we as fans can say we benefit because the team is here, maybe a handful of bars along the way do too. But financially we're the customers buying their BILLS product. So we're using tax payer dollars just for the right to be customers. I think its fair that some people have an opinion on where their money goes & i think many would just have preferred we set the bar a little higher with our plan if we were going to spend this much.

For the cost & after decades of debating alternate stadium locations & their potential impacts to our region, in the end we went with a smaller version of the same thing right next to the old one. Maybe some people just dont understand or care but it just seems like a failure of imagination & a colossal missed opportunity for an area lacking much of either.

It just makes sense you dont spend close to $2 billion on a building you only use 10 times a year... in an area thats not known for its great economy. I mean that makes sense right? I think for many thats what it comes down to.

  15. smart move. He's a very valuable depth piece to our defense. We call on him a lot & he holds his own.

Being curious i looked up his snap counts, 82% last year? Number is more than I would've thought

  16. hey at least they're making a concerted effort to attempt to address the issue. For instance Orlando Brown & Cody Ford > Connor McGovern.

With the oline being so important, you'd like to add at least 1 'good' starter to the line every year. I set the bar pretty low since even 1 has been a hard target for us to reach.

I'll give Beane points for doing his job to find cap room.  Not sure that I'm overly excited by any of the people he signed.  They help and they prevent glaring holes (+), but none are really "wow" players.

Yeah, these are just guys their former teams decided weren't worth holding on to. To us they're new faces & names, but they're just replacing players of ours we're moving on from too.

At this point theres really no reason to be excited at all, other than that a few names & faces have changed. Just like previous offseasons, we all get excited at the new toys... then we see how they play. We just gotta hope these guys replacing the old guys are an upgrade i guess? Because not much has changed.

  18. i'm taken back by his name change. Is he Deonte Harris or Deonte Harty?

And what are the implications of a player who cant even decide on what last name to use?

What hope do we have on the field when he's deciding on which way to run?
    Not a good look lol

i joke around but after seeing Beane attempt to address the slot position MULTIPLE times last year... i hope he's finally found "the one" this time.

I do think a taller wr would be a better match for Josh but lets see how it looks on the field before its an issue.
