for gods sake marcellus wiley was 215lbs his freshman year by the time he was 25 he was a 275lb monster. wiley did absolutley nothing his first year. give maybin some time.
a top pass rusher makes more of an impact then olineman and 4-3 lbs.... parcells has even said this.
if u have olando pace , takeo spikes and bruce smith, u take the pass rusher !
something like kerry collins for 2 years
and a draft like this
trade down get extra 2nd
1 bryan bulagua ot
2 brandon graham de
2 tony pike qb
3 vince oghobaase dt
4 jermain cunningham de
5 olb
6 ilb
7 de
pass rushers make more of an impact them olineman or lbs... thats why they picked maybin.
if maybin turns into jason taylor, i highly doubt u would trade him for michael oher or brian cushing....
the kid actually has the talent, that was seen on his sack against detroit in the preseason, he needs to get bigger, stronger, tougher. in 3 years maybin will be a tremendous player. he was drafted as a project. this is no surprise...
Not to mention we have a decent core of veterans
mcgee
mitchell
ellison
stroud
kelsay
denney
schobel
butler
what this team needs is a few star players, especially a qb!
the quickest way to be relevant again would to draft on both lines and a young qb to groom
also bring in a veteran qb like kerry collins or chad pennington
something similar to what the dolphins did
people do seem to not realize we do have a young core at all levels
