  1.

I posted this same thing several pages ago, and that view still holds. Wet field = advantage offense....now luckily, we run a lot of zone (although lots of man last week) so it makes it a LITTLE easier getting to WRs out of breaks, but it's still no bueno

Hopefully it plays to our offenses advantage as well, with our shifty guys (Shady and TT)

why is it sad that WNY'ers didn't want to waste their time and money supporting an absolutely putrid college "football" team (even while they had Mack)? I am an alum and wouldn't go to those games. There are many of us who wish UB would do away with the football team altogether.

Because of the track, the fans are way too far away from the action.

  2. I haven't seen the all 22, but Tyrod still missed some wide open recievers. One in particular was a deep pass to Thompson. While he completed the pass, their was a reciever (Holmes maybe?) that had his man beaten and would've probably been a td. I'm good with Tyrod for now, but again he's missing big plays

With the 2-3 seconds a QB has, they all miss open receivers more often than we think.

  3. The way I understand it, Tyrod has a history with Thompson and just maybe he had more confidence in completing the pass to him than Holmes.

I don't want to hijack the thread but had a question & didn't want to start a thread for it. On the 44 yd pass to DT, he was the recipient of an illegal hit. What would be the call if, as a result of the illegal hit, DT then lost control going to the ground. Is it still a catch & a penalty? Or is it an incomplete pass & just the 15 yd penalty?

A similar situation happens when a DE jumps the snap & is zooming in on the QB & the OL holds him to protect the QB. This is called off setting penalties. It seems to me that the hold should be waved off as it was the direct result of the DL leaving early with a bead on the QB.

What do you guys think ?

  4. What really had me worried was the yackety sax series of laterals to end the game. Jesus, it felt like it went on for 5-10 minutes.

    40 seconds. unbelievable.

Bills do have a different feel for me this year, after those fortuitous calls versus Atlanta, it seems like Kharma/attitude is positive this year. I thought we could come back because the offense was effective and the D most of the year has been able to make huge plays.

Your avatar is a bit juvenile.

  5. For whatever reason some people can't look at Tyrod the same way they do other QBs. Just as an example, Wentz had a chance to put the game away on 3rd down yesterday. This was the play:

    DL_QyQ3VQAI5WJH.jpg

The circled slot receiver is wide open for a 1st down. Literally uncovered. The receiver on Wentz's left is open on the slant. Wentz instead threw to his covered TE, inaccurately, and it fell incomplete. The Eagles punted to Carolina who had all the momentum. If Cam wasn't wildly inaccurate on that last drive they could have won.

Then what would the narrative on Wentz have been? He had 1 good drive, and 2 TDs on drives that started at the Carolina 10. He failed to put the game away with an easy completion and let Carolina stay in the game with too many missed passes. But because Cam Newton played even worse these points are seen as nitpicking. Meanwhile posters like you nitpick Tyrod that a deep ball wasn't thrown with 100% accuracy and therefore Zay Jones didn't have a chance.

I don't know how often you could find pictures like that for other QBs that missed open receivers because no one tracks that sort of thing (how could you?), but the way some posters talk you'd think Tyrod is the only QB who has wide open receivers running all over the field that he doesn't see. It's ludicrous.

Was that hyperacute enough for you?

I remember seeing this play live last night & thinking the WR was completely uncovered/ forgotten. It was a TD waiting to happen yet Wentz didn't see it.

  6. Perhaps make sense of it before you post crap.

Google Malcolm Jenkins. What is the overwhelming story line? What are most teams trying to avoid? What is the best position on the Bills as of now? S?

Unless you're going to let us all in on where this gem came from and lend some sort of explanation then it should be deleted.

Relax, guy. No reason to be nasty.

  7. Some of you guys crack me up. Sammy is elite. Whether you like his personality or not is irrelevant. He was way underutilized in Buffalo because of the ground n pound philosophy along with a mediocre risk adverse qb. Now the Rams braintrust are making the same mistakes. Mark my words Sammy will land somewhere where he's featured.

Sammy is a good receiver. He is not a great receiver. You may think that he is elite because he was drafted 4th overall, but he is not. He is over rated. There is absolutely no evidence that he is elite, just your opinion. Having a few excellent games & a few great catches doesn't make a WR elite. Day in & day out production would bolster your argument . Maybe someday. We shall see. Again, he is good but must produce in order to be elite.

  8. He did alittle more then usual last week but still far from what id like to see out of my QB. You can gush about his QB rating all you want, when you dont turn over the ball because of a safe throw mentality its always gonna be relatively high. When he starts involving our WRs into our offense on a more regular basis, lets see what happens.... Nice win though. He did what needed to be done.

    What WR's ?

  9. It's a shame Folk blew so many kicks last night. It would have been great to see the "almighty" Patriots at 2-3. The Patriots were very lucky last night, but one thing is for sure, they are the most vulnerable they've been in many years (I'd say since they last went 7-9 in 2002).

It looked like 2 average teams playing last night. All in all, I couldn't help feeling that our "tough schedule" is not looking as daunting as we all thought. Mia, Jets, NE, TB, SD and NO all look winnable as does the Oak game , possibly without their QB. The only team that looks better than I thought is NO. Of course, we won't win them all but I no longer have any games on our schedule labeled as a sure loss. KC & NE, both on the road, will be our toughest games. Our ascent, accompanied by the regression of some of our foes, presents at least a little rosier picture. Go Bills.

  10. Depending on the side of the body the injury is on I would be more inclined to put him at RT. In todays NFL there is no true LT or RT. Defense and good defensive minds look for matchups. There is not a speed guy that only lines of over the LT and the strong run stuffer over the RT. Too many shifts and sub packages for that to be the case. If Dawkins plays well on the Left I would try Glenn on the right.

Does anyone know exactly what is the problem with his foot.

  11. That is an embrassing comment- think about it. We played disciplined football, something all of us have been dying to see in a long time. The NFL is full of parity- more times than not the more disciplined, better coached teams win. That is todays NFL and why Rex will never coach again.

    methinks it was sarcasm.

  12.

How are people trying to "enforce their standards" on others?

There are no laws being proposed to take away people's ability to protest. There are no laws being proposed to force people to stand for the anthem.

Yes, the president wanted the NFL owners to take a stand, and not allow these kinds of protests during games. Personally, I think the league/owners should have that right.. IF they want to make that kind of rule (I would get fired for making political protests at my job). But the NFL is not taking that stance, so it's really irrelevant.

By Colin Kaepernick's own words (and don't forget, he was the origin of this protesting), the whole purpose was because he "refused to show pride" in this country, because of what he perceived as injustice. So it's funny that NFL players around the league are now saying this protest has NOTHING to do with lack of pride, lack of patriotism or disrespect for the country. That's a crock of bull. If Kaepernick would have protested on his own time, or found a way to do it without knocking the flag or America - this would have never gotten out of hand.

The only reason that this "got out of hand" is because of the guy with the orange hair.

The NFL has no leverage to order the players to stand. If they don't, then what ? Are they all fired?

  13. He played better than he has and did what they asked of him. Let's not get too crazy though. He only had 200 yards passing. Brady had half that on the final drive of the game alone. We will see next week that we still need a QB to keep up with teams that have one

Did anyone notice how many QB's threw for 300 plus yards & lost? And, how many threw for under 300 & won.

Taylor has played well all year. Even in the Carolina game when our O line couldn't handle the D, he did as well as possible in the second half, with just a little too much on the last pass to Jones. If Jones makes that catch the Bills are 3-0.

It could be he's in a scheme that works for him, finally. No QB thrives in the wrong scheme.

Yesterday he was really good. His decision making is much better than previously. He's throwing over the middle of the field, and he's throwing receivers open.

He missed one pass yesterday, to a wide open Jones, when running to his left. That makes it a tougher throw but no excuses, that was a terrible pass. But other than that he played really well, when the running game was shut down and he had to rely on receivers with no speed.

I think everyone has forgotten that he threw a TD pass to Tolbert which he dropped.
