  1. I disagree, I wouldn't call him a bum at all. Primadonna receiver yes. Acts like a little kid when the ball isn't being thrown his way? Sure.

But how many times has he had his defender beaten by SEVERAL steps only to have the ball grossly underthrown? To a certain extent, I can't blame him for his lackluster body language. Don't get me wrong, he certainly should've tried to break up a ball or two, but I wouldn't go as far as to call him a bum. To be as old as he is, the guy is in remarkable shape, and I believe wherever he goes when he leaves Buffalo, he's still got a couple good years left in him.

Unfortunately, we just weren't able to utilize him....

i totally agree, he's still a great target to throw to. He still has some good years left in him. Maybe, just maybe if he played for a team that was worth a crap he would give some effort. I'm sorry but if i was him, with one more game under my contract and a losing team that has nothing left to play for, what does he have to play for? he's a hall of fame WR, pretty much the opposite of a bum. If we had a qb who was worth anything, and i mean anything we could have used him. It's not like he is far removed from a successful season just last year, he still has it. Hell people say he hasn't done much this year but he's going to catch 800 yards this season on a very sub-par team with no qb and no o-line. C'mon now.

  2. Graham Harrell would be a nice addition to bring into camp and try out and I really can't understand why he ended up going to the CFL. The guys got real good mechanics, extremely intelligent and constantly made plays in the face of defenders bearing down on him. He also looks like Brady's younger brother, poster boy II, what more could you ask for, geesh

Graham Harrell has NFL Superstar written all over him in my opinion if he could just get into the NFL.(so does Mike Leach)

why not bring in Harrell as a tryout? the guy is probably sitting at home waiting for someone to give him a shot...He was a great college qb who can at least be given the shot to fight it out with some younger guys (if we are wanting a younger guy in the organization, not just an old free agent qb i.e. collins, or garcia.) just IMHO we need something now...but who's saying one of them can't be it? Green bay because they wanted to let go of Brohm? or Jerry Glanville because he let Brett Farve go after throwing 2 picks in his first 4 passes for the Falcons...we'll never know. There's never no telling how successul QB will be unless you give him a shot.

  3. He could play with instinct and just be an animal! Seems like his natural possition he weighs around 340 lbs I believe. Just a thought.

just thought about this when we aquired him via STL...hey, if he talked crap like the guys from "The Program," than we'd be all good about our DL for next year. But seriously? no. Even as an OL for this team he's gone after these last 2 games.

BTW...anyone ever have Schlafly beer from STL?...amazing i tell you.

  4. Fitz got replaced (for a series only as it turned out) because he simply wasn't making a single play of his own. Save for the opening drive, of which was on the ground, our offense was literally quite offensive. His best plays and throws were after he had his ankle tweeked (hummm....maybe we're on the something here).

well prior to be taken out Dierdork mentioned how he was actually 12-16 for 101 yds.

  5. I didn't get to watch the game but saw some highlight clips on NFL.com.

    1. Fitzpatrick's block on Lynch's run was pretty cool. Yeah, he's not very good, but he plays hard. Style points are just style points, I know, but I liked it.

    Fitz's block

    2. On TO's TD, he leveled the linebacker on the crossing pattern, essentially running his own pick pattern. Was the play designed to free Evans? Anyway, TO showed his strength there.

    TO TD

    kj

Thought the same thing about Fitz' block. He actually outran lynch after the handed the ball off to make the block. Good stuff. Also. I love the guys ability to scramble...he may not be a good qb at all, but he can do that well, something a lot of qb's in the league don't have the ability to do.

  6. There has been a lot of talk about concussions in the NFL. There have been a lot of proposed solutions on how to limit the number of concussions. I heard a simple solution for the issue Switch back to a grass playing surface for all outdoor stadiums. And for all new domed stadiums have a way to have a retractable field (I think one of the NFL Europe teams had one of those) or roof to grow grass.

Grass slows down players which limits the impact of the hits. Another idea was limiting the size of spikes on cleats to on slow down the players and limit hits. To me grass is the superior surface and makes sense to play on. I think that its a solution that has to be explored.

Cleats have already been done years back from 3/4 to 1/2..if you make them any smaller, you might as well wear turf cleats all the time.

  7. The quarterback controversey (like there ever was one) is OVER!!!

Well after the 1st game Fitzpatrick won, I was unimpressed, but happy we won. Then he won a 2nd. And like many Bills fans, I started to wonder is it was possible for him (Fitz) to maybe be the starter.

And then, there was the Texans game. After watching that, it is painfully obvious to me that Fitzpatrick is just a back-up and NOTHING MORE

However, I do love his pocket pressence, he seems to be harder to sack than Trent. Fitz also has quick descision making ability, which Trent lacks. Other than that, Fitz showed me why he was/and always will be a BACK UP

So, lets get Trent healthy and see if there is any chance is hell that he can still be our future. I doubt it, but would LOVE TO BE WRONG.

    GO BILLS!!!!!

IMO, they both showed why they are backups.

  8. The first pass Fitz threw to him was right on target and he drops it.

One pass he caught was in traffic ,double teamed and caught it.

To me T.O. still has it, but we have an below average O-line and weak QB's.

So looks like he made a poor choice in coming here, maybe it was the only option he had.

But he did his job, which was to sell tickets. anything on top of that is gravy.

Even though this post is short, it's a good analysis. Remember he made that HUGE leaping catch yesterday? He does still have it. I believe he is still fully capable of producing those 1000 yd seasons, for God's sake he just did it last year. i really think we just had too big of expectations for him coming in here, hoping for another 1000 yd season and maybe 8+ TD's. We don't have the people to help him out (QB's, O-line)

  9. I was crticized heavily for not being on board with the TO signing...it has nothing to do with his personality. He was clearly losing his game last season, with the Cowboys, a team, with, arguably better talent... he was bound to have a bad season with the Bills. Personally, since the Bills aren't any better with him, I would prefer to see what guys like Hardy and Johnson

can do. TO is bound to have a few good games this year, but, it is becoming more and more obvious each week, he is a possession receiver...and I am not convinced that Josh Reed isn't better in that role.

he didn't have an "off" year last year. Don't know if you seen his stats or not, but over 1000 yds and 10 TD's says that he was a pretty decent reciever last year.

  10. I don't know that I would call him the coach of the week, but it is hard to criticize any of his gameday decisions yesterday -- so at least that is a step in the right direction.

i agree, for once i saw Dicky J make good coaching decisions yesterday, But when can we ever play solid/and have a well coached game?

  11. So that Browns loss was all Edwards fault? Was that him that muffed a punt that he never should have been near that gave the Browns instant field goal territory? Edwards didn't play that great at all, neither did anyone else on the team, especially the Special Teams. Please get a clue.

No, leading your team to an terrible three points in an NFL football game is unexcusable. We can't put our team in a position in a game to where it even comes down to muffed punt. We were VERY weak that day yeah but you can't sit here and say if we had Peyton Manning or a better caliber QB we wouldn't have scored more points. Don't blame Roscoe for a botched punt, we shouldn't have games that come down to that anyways..oh wait...we're the Bills.

  12. What lack of protection? The pass protection was pretty good most of the day with the RT and LT usually on an island.

wondering if you were watching the Bills/Panters game at all...

His protection broke down SEVERAL times. There was a reason why Fitz had 7 undesigned QB carries in that game. Hell, im sure of his 11 completions, he only seen 2 or 3 of them caught because he was laying on his back most of the time.
