  1. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/12/07/bill-polian-admits-making-a-mistake-drafting-jerry-hughes/

This is exactly the kind of accountability that has been absent from OBD since, well, since Polian left.

What amazes me is that the fans are, in large part, complicit. Even though the organizational structure and scouting department at OBD have remained constant for years, fans seem eager to blame years of shoddy drafting on previous coaching staffs, as if that's any kind of excuse - if anything, the fact that our coaches have so much say on draft day is a sympton of a larger, persistent problem within this rudderless, reactionary organization.

Seems like from the comments under the article that Colts fans aren't too happy with Polian's drafts of late. And you're right, he's doing the right thing by taking the blame on himself drafting a couple duds  - Something this organization has been lacking lately.

  2. Yeah, I know that argument and it does hold some water, but Mighigan would have been a bottom 25 team without Robinson. He was just as valuable to Mighigan as Newton was to Auburn -- he just did not have the supporting cast. It's time to look at the player and what he accomplished rather than the team and what they accomplished. It's an individual award.

You have not seen him play much, I guess. He thru for over 2300 yards which was alot more than Cam Newton thru for

Take a look at Cam Newton's stats before posting false information

    Rate Yds TDs INT %

    129.6 2589 28 6 67.1

  3. Bills most improved in league, and props to to Levitre and Bell. He also mentions something I posted about the Pitt game--the toughnous of the Bills as they went "toe-to-toe" with one of the toughest teams in the league.

    Brian Baldinger

    Courtesy of rumblings.

He just had a segment of NFL network for about 3-4 minutes about how well the Bills are playing while showing film of WHY they are playing better. He notes that D. Bell had a standout game blocking one of the best rushers in the league, and Levitre had an awesome day too, picking up stunts, and commented on the Steve Johnson drop how well Levitre excuted his kick out block on his pull. Also commented more on Steve Johnson saying he is one of the best in the league running with the ball after the catch. Good watch, just happened about 10 or so minutes ago.

Solomon Wilcots was the only one to pick us to lose

  4. Well, I like their response to the questions asked. I really like this group of guys.

Love how Fitz made it clear Stevie is his number 1 reciever. Wonder how Lee feels about that?

Stevie impressed me with his words in the presser. He's a good kid and he'll bounce back like the rest of the bunch.

Back to work next week, bring on the Vikes.

    GO BILLS!

  5. Great pressure in missing a one legged QB from point blank range.

Ughhhhhhhhh I cant print what I really think of this loser

Pretty sure he had Big Ben wrapped up on that 3rd and 18 yard scramble for a first he got, bad part is he let him go. At least he's half way there?

  6. Guys, come on, I am celebrating the positives of this game. I am proud that we were able to compete. We'll look back on this a little bit differently as some dust settles in a few hours and tomorrow. We are playing pretty good right now.

I'm trying to look over the tons of positives today as well. But I'd rather do it from a winning perspective, not a "well at least we made it close" perspective.

  7. It's time to stop calling him underrated. He is a freaking animal.

Screw a QB in the first. Fitz has the lockerroom and the team believes in him. Get some nasty playmakers and build a great defense around Kyle Williams. Give him a lifetime contract.

And the fact that he looks like Peter Griffin is the cherry on the top.

Sad thing is, even if you play on the Bills these days, and are a beast, you will always be Underrated.

Agree with building around him. Give him front 7 help!

p.s. Props on the Peter Griffin reference. :worthy:

  8. Seriously.

Did anyone get that feeling that McKelvin was going to fumble that punt return? I know i sure did.

Steve Johnson-Way to NOT come through when you have your opportunity to win the game for your team

Mckelvin tripping over Moats on the OT kick return? Did anyone else get the feeling that we were close, but so far?

Fitz played well, and gave us a chance to win- But did anyone see on the Palomalu INT how open David Nelson was?

    A few other things:

-Urbik i thought played really well. When OTA's rolls around next year he should start at RG, and Wood at C

-Freddy had a pretty good day , aside from his fumble

-Lee Evans...Who's that? it seemed like the ball went off his hands when Fitz through to him on that deep pass away from Polomalu.

-David Nelson had a great game, he really needs to see the field ALL the time.

-Kyle Williams is just an unstoppable force. Drew some holding calls and sacked Ben twice and hassled him on tons of others.

-I thought the younger guys on defense played decent for the day too (Coleman,Moats,Carrington,Troup)

Well, that's what i seen, anyone have anything else?

  9. I wish they would use Corey Mcintyre in the run game as a runner sometimes, that 2 extra points handoff would have been a good time for instance. I think we could use a fullback in the traditional sense at times in the run game, instead of throwing short on every 3rd and lees than 4 attempt.

It's also all the OTHER things Mcintyre does really well, like punt coverage/kick coverage. Remember this?

    Jim Leonhard sure does.

  10. Spiller is also a home-run threat catching the ball out of the backfield, so I expect to see him significantly in the mix in the passing game. If he pans out as advertised that may make teams a little less aggressive going after the run.

I would for one would like to see Spiller getting some catches out of the slot position. He's quick enough, has solid hands, and can make people miss after he catches the ball. I'm not saying however we put him on inside routes, but even just little 5 yard outs, or even flying on a seam route i would love to see periodically.

  11. Im sorry but Marshall Faulk is the biggest piece of crap on NFL network. The dude seriously thinks he knows everything and he is the worst analyst on the station and IMO worst analyst ever. He is only on there cuz of his name.

^ What you said. All because Faulk was good at playing football, doesn't mean he knows much about it. He doesn't do his homework.

All that said he probably uses Kiper's grade as his own and copies his analysis as well.

    Garbage.

  12. Too bad, too, because he was very good in College and was considered a steal when N.E. grabbed him in the 2nd.

Injuries played a huge factor in his career up to this point. I hope he can stay healthy and give himself a chance. The talent is there, not sure about the heart/head....

Took the words right out of my mouth. Going to several gator games when he was playing, he used to light people up. He was also a kid at the combine who impressed everyone pretty much...didn't drop a pass on the jugs machine (etc.). Hopefully he can bounce back from these injuries and go back to his former self.
