Why not consider Omaha instead? It’s about the same distance & might be a little closer.

Hope you and others can make it. Certainly a bunch of machinations to travel & get tix. I am a STH in central VA so familiar with exploring alternatives with travel. Expensive getting last minute flights so already booked our Big Easy travel before flight pricing becomes nuts. Can always cancel but hoping I don’t have to.

Omaha is definitely closer to KC than St Louis is.  We made the drive to KC a lot when we lived in Omaha.  Also Omaha is an easy airport in and out, and if you need to spend a night somewhere there's a lot to do there.

I agree on the $18 beer. I wonder if it will be more expensive at the new stadium.

Wouldn't it be great if CBS shows this as part of its pregame show.  I know Chiefs fans who think their tailgating is the best so it would be interesting to show this Ravens fan's impression compared to people walking around outside the Chiefs stadium before the game.

I think there were two reasons the new stadium is just across the street, and not downtown.  First, cost.  Hardly any new infrastructure needed.  Second, that tailgating madness.  Would there be room for enormous open parking lots around a downtown stadium?  That would seem like a foolish waste of downtown space for something that's use a dozen times a year.

    Go Bill!

I suspect KC will try to do what Baltimore did to us in the 2nd half yesterday.   I hope we see a more aggressive offense.

Baltimore didn't do that to Buffalo, Buffalo did that to Buffalo.  For whatever reason they had, the Bills coaches went ultra conservative.

For the KC game, I think Brady will be opening up the last six chapters of the playbook, the part none of us have seen yet.

  4. Hollins is a throwback to the days when football was much nastier and tougher.  The rules to protect the players have had the effect of increasing safety which of course is great, but they've also led to a different mentality.  Hollins would have fit right in on the 85 Bears team, and that's meant as high praise.

Well, I don't totally agree but there's some truth to the medias opinion.   Our offense was getting get punched in the gut in the 2nd half and Baltimore only stopped themselves.   If we'd lost we'd be pissed at McD for not being more aggressive on offense.  But we won, so he was right.

Now do we go with the same game plan against KC?  My guess is no but who knows?

No reason not to use the same game plan (with updates) from when the Bills beat the Chiefs earlier.  And now Milano is back.

NOT a good through by Lamont.  He's making $55 million do NOT make a bad throw.

Lamar at his post game press conference said that on that throw he just threw a second too early and didn't have time to check where the safety was.  Yep.  And the reason he didn't have that second was because Milano was blitzing him and closing in.  That INT was due to Milano. So glad he's back!

All 4 winners combined had 1 turnover total.

    Gotcha.

I agree the Ravens lost that game. Not saying Allen couldn't have won it but he didn't need to.

The point is, he DID win it.  Nothing close to an INT or a fumble. Few penalties.

Napoleon said the best action when your opponent is making a mistake is not to interfere.  When your opponent is turning it over and dropping passes, you just keep on keeping on, and let the other guys realize they're not the better team.

  8. I did nothing unusual except try to relax during the second half.  I kept thinking about the fact that the Bills were ahead, and that Josh and the rest of the offense was taking pristine care of the ball.  Ultimately it worked.  No screaming, no special clothes, just being one with the moment and being willing to trust what came would suffice.

And THAT was what I did to make the team win.  From Cool Hand Luke, "Sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand."

    You're welcome.

    - I wore my new Bills socks (2-0 in playoffs wearing them)

    - I stayed home; sat on the floor in the middle of my livingroom so my wife and daughters could watch on the couch. 6-0 when watching at home on the Living Room TV.

    - I pulled a Tom Grossi tactic and “peed for the D” (peeing before your defense takes the field). I went 3/5 with an INT and 2 fumbles. I will be doing this the next 2 games as well.

    - I played Mr Bridghtside

Drink a lot of water. Or something.

  10. Has anyone noticed the similarity between Bass missing a tying FG at the end of last season's playoff loss to the Chiefs, and the Ravens missing a tying 2 pt conversion last night?

In both cases, the team that could have scored to tie, left the other team's very potent offense time to take the kickoff and go down and score before the end of regulation.  The miss ended hopes for the losing team but would NOT have ended the game.

And if I'm not mistaken both plays occurred at the same end of the field.

Now the Ravens get to spend an offseason gnashing teeth, just like we did.

  11. I pointed out on the game thread that there have been other calls this year, not all involving the Bills, where an O lineman swats down the hands of the defender, and gets called for holding.  As I posted, the league should have made sure its part-time employees all got the memo that this isn't a penalty.

But maybe it is supposed to be a penalty, and all fans and all announcers and all players simply don't understand the rule.

Time to pull out Occam's Razor and see what makes the most sense.

He played more than Kincaid last week and I have thought for sometime he is the better overall guy who is a true te.    Kincaid has just been ok, not what his draft status was …yet. He is the guy the pitchforks should be pointed at.

I do NOT want the Bills to have a single primary receiver.  Kincaid has the talent to be a primary receiver but if we get so there's a The Guy then the defense can take that away.  When the Bills have half a dozen guys all working to get open, they're much more effective as long as it's a great QB looking over the field and spotting the open guy.

  13. When the Ravens got their last TD, there was 1:33 left in the fourth quarter.  That would have been plenty of time for the Bills offense to get into FG position.  Certainly the failed 2 pt try just about ended things, but there was every chance the Bills could have won the game with a late score.
