Playing for a FG? Seriously?
-
BS call on the penalty for tackling Mahomes. He was a runner. Any runner in that situation should expect to be tackled.

Ugh bad time for Brown to get beat, hasn't happened this year
Actually that was the second time someone got by him. All year. Out of over 300 plays. And it was Josh's fault for not protecting the ball, and taking too long in the pocket.
-
That was Brown's guy who caused the fumble, but that was a long time for him to hold his block.
-
I would say the Chiefs have looked at every tape, and know what we're going to do.
-
Give Josh a break on that one. He had a free play and tried to score.
-
The Bills are lucky to be down only 4 at the end of the quarter. They have a much better team than they've showed so far. I have hope.

Rousseau gives up contain AGAIN.
-
Question -- what was the shortest gain for the Chiefs on that drive? Probably Mahomes just getting four to pick up a first down, on second down.
Good Lord.
-
This feels like the playoff loss to the Bengals. For some reason the Bills just don't show up.
-
Ummmmm....fellas, the game has started...
-
Rousseau gave up contain and let Mahomes out to the right.

Wtf is Allen doing????
He had Hollins open on the 2d down and just missed high. By a lot.
The defense looks like they need to settle down.

Josh looks shaky. Not the best version of our guy.

Getting us Jerry Hughes was a great move by the Bills. Sheppard was not exactly a bust but he was not playing well, and the Colts would have said the same thing about Hughes. Sheppard played only one year for the Colts and was released. Hughes was a mainstay of the Bills for several years.

That is all a complete lie
The '90s bills were called the million dollar bills.. we had some of the highest payrolls in the NFL
Ralph also made OJ Simpson the first million dollar player.. made Jim Kelly the highest paid player in the league. Bruce Smith was the highest paid defensive player
And the bills had a higher payroll than the cowboys and Jerry Jones in the SB in 93
Ralph was never afraid to spend money. He made derrrek dockery the highest paid guard NFL history
He said money on the wrong people
We all saw it, that Ralph would not spend to the cap. He was advised by an accountant instead of his team's GM and coach.

Last year, he was a hot HC candidate. Now he's out of a job. Life comes at ya fast in the National Football League.
This is correct, and it's why Brady, if he gets a HC offer, will take it. Sell your stock when it's high. Not many OCs have it work out so well as Ben Johnson who had Detroit's offense humming for two years in a row.

The Bills had a lead at halftime and I think they just tried out the slower offense to see whether the Ravens could respond by taking the lead. The defense made some drive-stopping plays and the Ravens never got the lead. If the Ravens had been ore successful, I think the Bills would have gone back to the first half plan.
I'm actually all in favor of the Bills crossing up the opponent by changing tactics. Most teams show you what they're going to do, and stick with it. The Bills had a Plan 1B and the Ravens weren't able to come up with a response on the fly.
-
We put up with decades of mistakes because of a cheapskate owner, or rather an owner who listened to his bean counter instead of spending money he could afford to win more than 25% of the time. Ralph was a good soul but the biggest reason the early 90s Bills didn't win the last two Super Bowls is that they got completely outspent by Jerry Jones.
So I feel sorry for the Cincinnati fans, who have some really good players but not the rest of the story. That is, I feel sorry for them if the Bengals aren't in the playoffs.

He at least had a good QB tho...
Yeah, the most important thing. And even with Goff, the Lions still pretty much stunk under Campbell too, initially. The turnaround that followed was amazing, and probably not duplicatable.

People keep picking Rousseau or Bernard or (MILLER???) as the impact defense player. Get a grip. It's MILANO. I said that before the Ravens game and I believe it now. Having him back and playing at maybe 90% of his pre-injury level is what's making the difference. It was Milano who broke up the Ravens first 2 pt try, when the receiver was wide open. It was Milano's spying that limited Jackson's runs. It's Milano crashing the line or dropping into coverage. The guy just has an amazing football IQ, and the physical skills to take advantage of what he sees.

A lot of people thought the sky was falling when Daboll left. And in truth Daboll did have a lot to do with Josh developing so well and so fast. But, the Bills kept on winning after Daboll left, and they'll keep on winning after Brady leaves, whenever that is, hopefully not for a while.
Teams work hard to figure out why a particular opponent is successful, and they scheme up ways to counter what the successful team is doing. Some DC is going to figure out a weak spot or two of Brady, and the rest of the league will copy it, and either he'll stick with what he's been doing and slip down a notch, or he'll keep on creating new stuff to maintain his edge. Sooner or later even the most creative OCs run out of new stuff, or their good players get old/paid/injured/traded. No one keeps it up forever. Brady has the great good fortune to be the OC when the Bills finally put together a strong O line. In a couple years, maybe Dawkins has lost it or Brown's back acts up or someone else leaves as a FA. This stuff happens, and when it does, the O line won't be as good, and suddenly the OC won't seem so smart. Or, God forbid, Josh gets injured and loses his ability to run past or through defenders.
Brady deserves all the praise he's getting, and if he gets a HC chance out of this year, I think he'll take it. A year from now is a very long time, and his stock could take a huge tumble -- but probably won't get any higher than it is now.
3 hours ago, Dan Darragh said:Best way to keep Brady is to win on Sunday and keep him fully occupied until Feb. 9
The flip side of that is that Spags would be free to take the Saints job. The sooner that guy is off the Chiefs, the better. He's just a great DC and he's done a better job than anyone of slowing down Josh.
3 hours ago, Big Turk said:Well hopefully Saints ownership doesn't feel the same as their writers do...3 of the 5 want Brady as their next HC...
I just find it hard to believe he would go there to take over a bad roster and no real QB with tons of cap issues. Makes no sense to take a job where you are set up to fail.
Every coach thinks they can be like Dan Campbell, walking into a sewage pond and coming out with a mansion. Usually they just ruin their shoes.

My thought too. He literally bounced up in the air off his head. It’s amazing the trauma the skeleton can take. Welldesigned.
I saw an interview with Beebe years later, and he said there was no permanent injury, but it hurt like hell when it happened.

KC timeout seems good for the Bills. They were getting a little sloppy and they need to get their focus back.
