I honestly feel sorry for the Ravens. For years now they've been a strong competitor for the Bills so we sort of hoped they wouldn't do all that well, but what's going on with all these injuries is really devastating. They had the best roster in the league at the start of the season, and for 50 minutes in their first game they looked unstoppable. But they do have a tendency to let the brass ring slip away from them. Are they chokers? Let's just say they aren't great finishers. Lamar is a great QB but compared to Josh Allen he's just a yards machine, not a great leader. The Bills wouldn't be 4-0 right now if it weren't for Allen putting the game on his back and going and getting the win. Lamar Jackson would do that too if he could but clearly he can't, because he hasn't. This is why Allen and not Jackson is correctly the MVP.
Anyway it's really hard to keep a strong roster together year after year, like the Bills and Chiefs have done. Are the Ravens going to hit a brick wall the way the Bills did after the Music City disaster, cutting Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith and Andre Reed because they couldn't afford them plus the good young players they had. Can they keep Derrick Henry and AJ Brown and Lamar Jackson and their defensive stars, year after year? This might have been the Ravens' best year and best chance at a SB, and now they're 1-3 with most of their good D players out.
