It's an accurate one for who he was at OSU. Thankfully, I think some of his issues are things that are coachable.
Wait. Isn't one of the biggest gripes around here that the Bills coaches, particularly of defense, flat out suck?

Luck wasn't really playing at an elite level prior to his injury last year. The Colts did invest in the OL in the draft. It will be interesting to see him return to the form/trend of a couple seasons ago. If he does, the Colts should be considered a Super Bowl contending team.

What are the odds?

Yea you are right.
Still I cringed at the pick of CJ with our already crowded backfield. It was a Donte Whitneresque pick.
Whitner was drafted after the Bills created a void in their secondary prior to the draft.

Fans should make a buzzing sound at the Ralph whenever he makes a catch.
Like a mosquito?

one had to move to wide out, one is still there and when he finishes he also will have to move to wide out, and then there is jones
Well, there once was the idea of moving Aaron Maybin to TE.

He was worth a shot, they just picked the wrong year to have to draft a QB.
The Bills have drafted how many QBs in the 1st round in their history? Seems like there is an argument to be made that they were doing more than taking a shot. Although some arguments have it that Kevin Kontinuous Konkussion Kolb was The Man.
It was a bad year to draft a QB. But some would argue that doesn't excuse a lack of foresight, or painting themselves into a corner with Fitzpatrick, and failing to develop depth at the position from day one when Chan Gailey walked through the door.

His best bet is to negotiate an extension outside of option.
What, do you mean with the Bills?

Actually I see the Jones pick as solidifying EJ's presence as #2 for 2016. Unless a vet QB is acquired that comes in and pushes EJ off that's the QB roster. I'm a Buckeye alum and watch pretty much every OSU game (stomps of very low level competition sometimes excepted). Jones was a good pick and has a ton of raw talent, but he's years (plural) away from anyone even considering putting him on the field in a meaningful NFL game. No way do I consider him a #2 in 2016.
I agree with the last line though and I think that point is going to be right away - especially where WR and OL are concerned.
Multiple years seems to be a common take.
Well, there is a chance CJ won't get years. TT didn't get his extension. It would be a surprise if EJM received or wanted a 2nd contract from Buffalo. So, there is this chance the Bills will get Broncoed at QB. That would leave them with a long-term project, a blank slate, a big lump of clay, as their option (singular) perhaps.
If one looks at this pick under that scenario, it does raise some strategic questions.

It's a bit premature to say he's going to be the next Ray Lewis. But Rex's defensive system needs studs at LB, and RR has the talent to be that type of player.

Tyrod is a mountain of a man.
In Lilliput, yes.
-
I wonder if he is a capable KR/PR....I believe the Bills could use an upgrade there.
I thought they upgraded when the door whacked Leodis.

It's easy to have great eyes and awareness when your line is blowing open holes that big.
CJ Spiller?

You got your wish.

Because he sucks. They wouldn't have taken Hack in the 2nd if they thought Petty was worth anything.
The slow-twitch neurons are holding him back. Not really his fault.

World class 100.

Do you think a guy who won the Big 10 championship game, a playoff game against Alabama and the BCS National Championship is more raw than a guy who played two seasons of 1-AA ball?
Well, Whaley did say he was a blank canvas. That sounds like raw. Or maybe it is more like a bag of flour and unbroken eggs on the counter—not even dough yet.
-
Whaley has gone full retard now.
-
Sorry, I should have said "Whaley"
Actually, Rex Ryan is a known proponent of the idea that you break ties between players with similar draft grades by taking the bigger player. Jones is bigger than Prescott, so ...

They can't save any money on EJ by cutting him.
They can save a roster spot, however.
-
Is he any good? some sites are blasting Denver for the pick.
Makes sense. Elway doesn't seem to have a clue.
-
Going zero to one deep across your roster isn't a proven strategy.

Hmm. It's not like Preston Brown is great in coverage.
