  1. Granted, for the past decade our Front Office has been stank enough to choke a donkey, there is so much parity in the league the difference is largely in preparation and focus.

Post examples via youtube, or draft your own recollection. Here are two.

In 2009, after thumping the Pats throughout the game, the Bills were on the verge of rearranging the Pscyhe of the AFC east, and possibly the NFL. An moment of EPIC proportions. All they needed was a knee, instead, this happened:

In 2008, this happened. Thanks JP and JP (great block!).

  2. I definitely agree we COULD make the playoffs this year.

Every year we are 2 or 3 games out.

But we lose at least 3 games per year out of pure stupidity.

    Solution: stop being stupid.

eh hem Mr. McKelvin. and Don't call a JP "I'm the biggest liability on the field" rollout when you are trying to run the clock out on the Jets.

Keep the ball away from morons in critical situations. Its that simple.

  3. Haha Ok Mel Kiper, now we know your Screen name on here. And to bad this regime wasnt around for any of that? Except for Modrak, and for gods sake he's just a scout.

Nope, this regime wasn't here for that, but it strayed from the common thought process shared by analysts the same way the old regime did. How has that worked out for us in the past bud? I guess you liked the whitner pick.

  4. Thanks for signing up to post this. We didn't have enough people complaining that we didn't pick people that Mel Kiper likes.

BTW that "part time" running back played for over 600 snaps in college. If C.J. Spiller doesn't make you say wow, no-one will.

Go back and look at Mel Kiper's likes over the past 4-6 seasons versus the garbage we drafted.

We would be better off just taking Kiper's picks.

In our attempts to outsmart everyone else over the past decade, we've really only outsmarted ourselves.

  5. I'm just sayin.

If we start this season with a 3-4 and no nose tackle we will be just as stupid as starting it without any Tackles last season. (Which, we are apparently doing again).

The Spiller pick will be genius IF we are trading Martian and then trading back into the second round to get a Tackle and Cody.

I would consider this an awesome draft ... but we need a stud DT.

  6. I'm calling my shot right now. Marshawn will be gone tonight en-route to Seattle for their 2nd or 3rd round pick. I think this will be a smart move on the Bills part. I know I've been hard on the Bills for not being active enough in free-agency, but I honestly think they will be THE most active team tonight on through Saturday. Put it this way...THEY HAVE TO!

I mean, think about it, Russ and company haven't hit the "big aquisition" this offseason in free agency. I think the following may happen:

    1. Lynch to Seattle for 2nd and/or 3rd.

    2. Buffalo picks an O-Lineman (either Trent Williams or Brian Bulaga) with #9 OR:

    3. Trades the #9 to Pittsburgh for Roethlisberger. OR:

    4. Trades the 3rd, 4th, or 5th for Jason Campbell.

    5. If they do have a 2nd, 3rd or 4th, select Tebow, LeFevour, or Pike.

Trust me, Buffalo can not expect to sell tickets with the moves (or lack there of) they've made so far. You can not expect to sell a team to the fans after watching Edwards the last couple of years or with Ryan Fitzpatrick leading the way. Chan Gailey wants to make his own mark on this team, just like any other new head coach. This team has Dick Jauron and Marv Levy written all over it! Gailey and Nix WILL make moves tonight! And if not, that will suck and they're we're even dumber than we thought!

    fixed.

  7. For what its worth (which is absolutely nothing)

I drafted Terrence Cody (in the fourth round lol hahahah) after importing him from the '09 NCAA draft class.

Dude is a beast, his power allows him to always take the double team...or if they don't you just bust through.

What is better... is how our defense looks out there with Stroud at DE, and a fat DT. We are heavy and strong, and quick at the corners with Maybin.... our secondary is pick central waiting to happen because of bird....

Cody busts through the middle even when we are in zone forcing bad throws into our ball hawks.

Frankly, I'd rather not play against us.

    (Then again... its madden. )

  8. I guess the reason I started this thread is the following:

Edwards went from a promising rookie to a watered down deer in the headlights afraid to make a mistake. He hadn't spoke to the media since November, and now with the house cleaning that just happened at OBD, I was hoping for a refreshed take from the guy. Unfortunately, to me, it seemed like the same type of answers/attitude we saw last year.

In part I agree, he could have said something a little more interesting.

I think he was being diplomatic, and rightly so. He could have pointed to all of the complete BS, unjustifiably stupid moves the front office made right before the start of the season that really didn't do much for this kid.

A lesser man would be really really openly pissed about what the Front Office did to this guy's career last year.

You are right, he was a promising rookie, and we screwed him out of any promise he may have had by releasing our entire OL, and getting our RB suspended and signing the most un-quarterback-friendly WR in the league

All just days before the opener.

That, my friends, was some BS, and expecting this guy to be remorseful is just more BS.

As for his attitude, I'd say its about as positive as can be expected given the complete and royal screwing we gave him.

  9. I agree.

Apparently the Bills would rather have no one at a bargain despite the fact that the QB's got killed.

Did anyone notice how another former Bills head coach (Jauron) has landed back where they belong as an assistant.

    Remember the Peter Principle?

People will rise to their level of incompetence.

Yes, yes. Some people here get it. So happy, I am not alone.

I will call it the "what's your next best alternative" principle.

When your next best alternative is Langston Walker...(who you will release because you think he is incompetent)...you don't make the trade...because the alternative sucks... as you yourself adjudged in releasing said alternative.

  10. DUDE GET A CLUE, we did not release jason peters. Do some research or something, And yes we are better without a player like that

Two mistakes in my original post (neither of which are really substantive)

    1. Peters was traded, not released

    2. Peters was not a late round pick, he was undrafted.

As for getting a clue...well...if you have the ability to seperate yourself emotionally from the issue there is no single GM in this league who thinks we are better off with who we started last year, or who we will start this year. But hey, maybe you know something they don't.

  11. Peters DID NOT WANT TO BE HERE. Why don't people get this? Yes, he was certainly better than anything we had last year or going into this year, but the guy didn't want to play for Buffalo and it showed on the field.

Frankly, I don't know of any pro bowl LT who would want to be here for what they were paying him. Anyone?

The reason he probably didn't want to be here is that we screwed him in '07 when he held out.

He was a top tackle in '06, and wanted to be paid like it. Sounds reasonable enough right? Screw that. Not in Ralph's house. In Ralph's house you take a $4mm year pay cut, under what you can get on the open market, and you go be happy about it.

I don't think I would have wanted to stick around either.

  12. Would you rather overpay a decent LT or have noone at a bargain?

THAT'S IT! RIGHT THERE! THAT'S THE QUESTION!

...still trying to figure out why no one asked it in our Front Office last year. The answer is obvious.

There is not another GM in this league who would have traded a competent Left Tackle for what was (at the time) an unkown pickup in the First round on the O-Line.

Who would trade proven competence for a crapshoot.

  13. I'm still salty...so a year after...I have to say it.

THIS year's draft was why you didn't release Jason Peters.

We have too many holes to fill, not the least of which is Left Tackle, and we only have one first round pick.

A lot of people hated him, including me. He was fat and lazy, and took plays off. He wanted to be paid more than he was worth. He was a late round turd we polished into something competent whose head got too big for his own good.

But was he better than the alternative?

Any monkey with two neurons to rub together would have to say yes.

  14. I think if Jimmy Clausen is taken by Seattle or Washington, we need to trade down into the late first round and try to pick up a 2d.

I really think T. Cody is going to be one of the studs of this draft. The film does not lie.

I also know we need a QB, and no one else is really going to be worth a pick at #9.

Why take the 3rd or 4th best tackle in the draft at #9?

  15. I love kyle williams. He is a force in the tampa 2. Too small to play NT, and not fast enough to play DE. I think the Colts could realy use him and were willing to part with a 4th (?) for McCargo back in '08. This would be a very important piece of the defensive puzzle for the Colts and a fair trade if we swap a few latter round picks. Williams, our 3rd and a 6th for Colts 1st and third. Colts get a great player for their system, and we get an excellent draft pick to use on a NT or maybe LB.

It always puzzles me when people (and teams) are willing to trade proven, competent players for unknown late round scrubs. I just don't get it.
