He really should go to Canada and prove himself there

Easy solution - poll the major tribes - let them decide if it is offensive. If it is, then change it.
-
Let's trade a 27 year old with 3 1000 yard seasons, on an average starter's contract for a 4th f'in rounder.
Sammy is better but it basically cost us 2 1st round picks to upgrade to a better WR. I would rather have two stud players + Stevie than Sammy

I'm 100% for this. This guy might have been the top QB selected if he came out last year. Competition for 2nd QB spot
-
Mack - trading for Cleveland's #4 or Oak #5. Cleveland wants a QB but can't justify it at #4 - similar to the Bills with EJ last year. We can't get a guy to fall, but we can certainly try to hype up the guys around him - which is what we've been doing all week...

Another great (IMO) article from MMQB: How The Schedule Was Made
Appears to be 4 guys who make the schedule. They HAVE to be football fans. I wonder who their favorite teams are - has anyone looked into this?
-
Just watch the full tape of this years Orange Bowl vs Ohio State. That might have been the most individually dominant game of anyone in FBS this season. He was unstoppable... I think that answers the questions on size. They KNEW he was getting the ball and couldn't stop him.

We're picking Ha-Ha Clinton Dix. That's our backup plan. Searcy/Duke Williams/Meeks aren't starting players. Aaron Williams should stay at SS, not move to FS
-
We have no receivers

Starting to dust off my Takeo Spikes jersey....

This is a total garbage signing...
I watch a lot of Giants football here in NYC. Rivers is injury prone, invisible in games and rarely ever will make a standout play. Nobody here cares that he's gone.
If people here don't like negativity around scrap heap signings, the Bills need to stop with the scrap heap signings. This one is a classic. Hope its for depth.
I don't disagree with you - I just think their threshold with this one is "is he equal to or better than Moats" and I think the answer is yes. They clearly aren't "going for it" with these signings. These just keep us in the 5-8 win range.

Byrd was leaving no matter what. He stated that he went to NO because of the "winning culture". Got tired of losing in B'Lo. He was a good player, but he will be easily replaced. No FS is worth what he got in NO.
You say no FS is worth that $ but it means we now must move Aaron Williams who was excellent at SS to FS and now force Searcy/Meeks/Williams/new draft pick into that SS role. None of those guys deserve to start. We might have to make a draft pick to secure a strong safety.
-
Know why we didn't tag him? We offered 7.5. Tag was 7.8. We didn't think he was WORTH the tag #.
I would have preferred we just kept Hopkins over Carpenter and spent that extra $ on Byrd to get to the $9m. We would have had similar if not the same results on the kicking and could have kept Byrd.
-
We are getting roasted on this one. I sure hope all the experts are wrong on this one but I doubt it. It's like the Rams signing Colin Brown to a 4 year guaranteed deal
-
I think we 1 step better with dumping the Toronto series and EJs 2nd season, but 1-2 steps worse (so far) with the losses of Pettine / Byrd / other net free agent losses we will incur. I'm thinking 5-6 wins unless something changes on the FA side. Either way, no jump to the next level of 8-10 wins.
-
I still dont understand why the Bills wouldn't tag Byrd this year.
Why let him walk for nothing?
CBF
The only reason you don't tag/trade him is because you don't plan to sign anyone. Meaning the compensation pick is equal to or greater than what we could yield in a trade. It sounds like we're not going to make a push this year in FA.

Move down 1 notch - Branch, Bradham and Urbick.
Move up 1 notch - Mario Williams, Eric Wood, Aaron Williams.
Other than that - pretty accurate
The team gets better with Byrd, Chandler and Carrington
Agree with their needs, but I would add WR, Guard and LB to the mix

I'd have to go with Yahoo. Popular in early 90's but not as relevant today (still around, just not a major player). Yours?

You are clearly not paying attention... research Alibaba

F the browns - I'm getting sick of them this offseason

Your little numbers scheme does not account for Fitz's innate ability to turn the ball over in close games. Repeatedly. Saying, "we would have won if Fitz were our QB in those games" is impossible to defend, no matter how you choose to twist the numbers.
Ok - I didn't say what you quoted, but just for the sake of argument, would we have won the KC and CLE games if Tuel wasn't the QB? If it was, in fact, Fitz?
-
You can't quote WR stats when we had at 3 different QB's play during the season (granted, Tuel was just half the Cleveland game). I mean you can, but it's just silly.
If AJ Green has another 6+ seasons like his first 3 he is in the NFL Hall of Fame. If Dareus has another 6+ seasons like his first 3 he is a marginal candidate (and probably on the outside looking in) for the Bills Wall of Fame. Big difference
-
No way. Dareus still has upside. Keep in mind this was a new system.
AJ Green - 98 rec., 1,426 yards, 11 TDs
Top 4 Bills receivers:
Chandler - 53 rec, 655 yds, 2 TD
Stevie - 52 rec, 597 yds, 3 TD
Woods - 40 rec, 587 yds, 3 TD,
Freddie - 47, 387 yds, 1 TD
Combined: 192 rec, 2,226, 9 TDs
AJ Green might have added 2-3 wins based on his redzone production alone in close games. I don't think Dareus added that much to the team. He's a good player but he's not a top 10 NFL player, which Green is.

(Cue Mora voice) Playoffs? Playoffs?C'mon, man!!! Fitzpatrick will NEVER lead any team to the playoffs. Your statement to the contrary is unfounded and is not remotely based in fact. Sure, Fitz will catch lightning in a bottle and win a few games, but the playoffs? Where has Fitz EVER been a winner?
Tuel straight up cost us the Browns and Chiefs games. 2 wins and we are 8-8. Those are gimmes if you just had a QB with a 60-70 rating.
EJ and Lewis were at best slightly below average, QB ratings off 77.7 and 81 respectively. Fitz had a 82 QB rating, which is about his long-term average as a starter with the Bills. With 2 overtime games and other close 4th quarter games that might have been good for another win. I'm not saying I want Fitz to be the long-term starter by any means, just that, if we had Fitz there's a good shot we'd be 9-7 or 8-8 and probably in the playoffs.
-
Fitz had one of his classic seasons - just enough performance to convince the fan base he could win, then rips the rug out from under their feet in clutch moments.
That being said, if he was our QB for all of this last season, we would have made the playoffs
Player to make the leap?

The guys we need to leap is EJ and either Duke Williams/Searcy. The guy I expect to leap is Spiller. He is going to be a top 5 back this year
