  1. Except it's not pristine and it's "wilderness" only in the sense that nothing can live there about 10 months a year.

There won't be a single species wiped out by drilling in ANWR. That's the ridiculous fear mongering that put us in this hole in the first place.

I'm as "environmental" as all but the hippies out there but not drilling ANWR ain't based on environmental fact. It kills me that people think it's smarter to drill offshore in "asssmashistan" or in the rain forests then bring oil across the ocean from places that don't have a single enviromental control in place rather than drill in the most controlled oil producing country in the history of the world.

    Very enlightened.

    Oil bad. America bad.

The Polar Bear for one is losing it's habitat and most likely will become extinct in the next 100 years. That is not a direct result of ANWR- but a direct result of global warming (or whatever you would like to call to permafrost and glaciers melting)

I like the idea of preserving Alaska. Teddy Roosevelt would approve. And the oil reserves would be saved for a worst case scenario.

Who is saying it is smarter to drill offshore? Certainly not I. I want us to get off oil. I would like to see a Manhattan Type project and solve this crisis. Problem is big business runs this country and too many corporations have too much to lose if we find an alternative.

American's are wasteful. I read one theory that if everyone on the planet ate like an American, we would need 2.5 earths just to grow food to feed the world. We need to stop pissing away the world's resources. Mother Earth would be in much better condition if everyone did their part and tried to leave a smaller ecological footprint.

    SUV's bad, America good.

    And NASA

  2. James is a nice depth addition for our defense, but he has never and will never be a #1 corner.

If you do not believe James was #1 on the Giants, who was #1 over James?

Disclaimer- I live in CT and watch a lot of Giants and Jets games.

  3. Why do people keep saying James can match up with Moss because of his size? Have they forgotten that there's no way in hell James can stay with Moss? Just because James is tall, doesn't mean he can cover the best receiver in the game. In red zone situations, maybe. But I guarantee if James is our number 1 option to cover Moss all over the field we will get burned. Height only matters when you can stay with the guy and are jumping for a ball.

James was a very solid #1 CB for the Giants for a few years and went up against the best. I am sure he covered TO and he probably has covered Moss. The problem with James the past couple years is he has had a hard time staying healthy. If healthy and fully recovered James is a very nice addition to our secondary. As far as Randy Moss goes- he has had one very good year in the past 4. If you keep hitting Moss he hears footsteps. I want to see our secondary very physical- like the Giants secondary last year. That will stop Moss more then anything IMO

  4. Good post and I agree. I could also see Poz having a great year and making the Probowl. He has the ability and the players around him to succeed. Hopefully he can stay healthy. Poz is just the type of player the NFL would love to see do well. He is very marketable and has a good head on his shoulders. I expect big things from Poz!

  5. The soldier thing didn't bother me AT ALL! It was everything else.

Taunting an injured player, calling himself "The Chosen One, complaining because he was drafted later than he expected, cheapshot hits on his own team mates, calling out veterans at training camp, holding out because he wanted to be paid as though he were the first pick of the draft, doing a whole buncha "the lord blessed me" antics, injuring himself doing tricks on a motorcycle then lying about the circumstances of the accident, wanting more money after one good season, and also walking around with a look on his face that says "I'm a complete a**hole".

I know he can play, but as I said, he could ruin a locker room. He has been a continuous pain (just like the old man), from high school to college to the pros, and I am certain the Bills know better than to introduce a guy like that into the locker room.

If the Browns do indeed want to unload him, why do you think that is, especially after all they have invested in him already with only one season to show for it?

    Amen

  6. This money wouldn't be better spent drilling some !@#$ing oil out of Alaska????

For !@#$ sake, and no offense Darin, but who gives a sh-- about the pristine condition of that !@#$ing state? If it saves me from having to hear one more person B word about gas prices, its worth every dead baby seal.

No it would not be better spent drilling the sh-- out of Alaska. Perhaps the energy crisis will be solved by NASA. Money spent towards research and development benefits mankind infinitely more then myopically drilling pristine habitat and !@#$ing up our environment even more. Necessity is the mother of invention- or used to be. Now Americans are instant gratification driven- instead of being pragmatic and being more utilitarian. The cure for everything is in nature. We need to stop wiping out species. People need to stop being so selfish, and we need to work together

  7. Life is Beautiful

one of my all time favorite films- there are some hilarious scenes despite the heavy subject matter

    Foul Play

    Father of the Bride

Showgirls- you mean that wasn't a comedy?

Most underrated comedy TV show ever- Police Squad

I will come up with more later, I need more coffee

  8. Actually I don't think it rips on any of them. The fall-over-nunchuck guys takes out some ninja's. Cris Crock (leave britany alone guy) gets a hug. The chocolate rain guy gets a duet with Rivers. spelling be girl gets to uses a blender to destroy a map (ala "will it blend"). I think the concept of the video is to resolve the problems that the stars of each video have.

man they covered a *lot* of videos. anyone else catch the reference to charlie the unicorn in there. def one of my fav's

that spoof of the hottie who wears bright socks and talks about sex - thats definitely my favorite!

  9. My first Bills game that I can recall vividly was September 23, 1979- the game Jerry Butler caught 4 TDs and had 255 receiving yards. That stadium was rocking! Jerry Butler was on his way to a great career before he got hurt. He was excellent! I would love to watch that game again. If anyone has the tape, could you throw it up on Youtube please?

September 23, 1979 -- BUTLER HAS 4 TDS AND 255 RECEIVING YARDS IN WIN

Joe Ferguson set a team record with five TD passes and threw for a career-high 367 yards while Jerry Butler caught 10 passes and set team records for yards (255) and TDs (four) as the Bills routed the Jets, 46-31, at Rich Stadium. NBC broadcaster John Brodie said of Butler: "That was the best single-game performance I've ever seen from a wide receiver. I played 16 years, but I've never seen anything like that."

  10. From what I gather... Things and CHANGE catch on rather slowly... The space program (yes, expensive) has been a catalyst for change in the way people think of a product...

    IMO.

Technologies makes it way to the military and space programs first, then medical, then down the road to the general public. An example would be the latest camera technology. Digital imagining has been used by the military and hospitals much longer then they became available to general public.
