  1. I have been reading up on Marquis de Lafayette and he is the unsung hero of the revolution. He had an amazing interesting life and is just as much a factor in the US winning as Washington. Lafayette believed in liberty for all and foresaw the potential greatness of the USA. He helped start the French revolution, and when he returned to USA from France he had probably the greatest reception anyone has ever had in this country. Rock stars have nothing on Lafayette. When Washington died, Lafayette took some soil from the site, and took it back with him to France. So Lafayette is buried in American soil in France.

You see Lafayette's name all over- towns, roads, colleges. But few know his story. If you are not familiar I highly recommend you read up on this great American hero

Lafayette was a fervent believer of freedom for all. And slavery abhorred him. He truly recognized what this country is supposed to be premised on

  2. Moats & Merriman have 8 games between them as major parts of the Bills defense, all coming in Moats rookie season.

Exactly. I like Moats and think he might be a solid player for us. But our linebackers were abysmal last year and there are no guarantees Merriman and Moats are the answer. That is putting a lot of faith that Merriman can overcome a severe injury. And how much of his performance was steroid based? He was great 4 years ago. It has been awhile since I have seen Merriman show that kind of ability. And it is quite the assumption to think Moats will be the pass rusher we are desperate for and solve our rush defense problems.

As far as Kelsay- the Bills see something in him I don't see- just like Aaron Maybin, Derek Dockery, Cornell Green etc. We continually let good players walk and overpay for mediocre players. Kelsay is decent depth, but hardly someone I would pay like they are a cornerstone of the franchise.

And like my original post stated- Kyle Williams is the only player on defense that earned his starting position IMO. Every other position can be upgraded and there should be open competition. May the best player win

  3. well how much production have we gotten from Kelsay, Moats and Merriman? In a 3-4 the pressure comes from the outside backers and our pass rush is in desperate need of an upgrade. And they have not exactly done well against the run either. Kyle Williams earned his spot on defense. He is about the only one. Every other position should be up for grabs, may the best player win

  4. I am not sold on us getting the Merriman of a few years ago and would have a plan b in place. If Merriman is healthy my guess is he plays strong side. It would be a spirited camp battle between Miller and Moats. Moats might start at weakside, with Miller coming in on passing if Moats somehow beat out Miller for the job

  5. 1 Von Miller OLB

    2 Jabaal Sheard DE/OLB

    3-Andy Dalton QB

    4-Jason Pinkston, RT

    4b-Kelvin Sheppard ILB

    5-Greg Romeus DE

    6-Byron Stingley T

    7-Patrick Hill FB

with a little luck, we might get lucky that some great value slides down a little. resign Florence, Poz, and Whitner.

    LDE Carrington-Romeus-McCargo

    NT Kyle-Troup

    RDE Sheard-Johnson-Edwards

    SLB Merriman-Kelsay

    MLB-Batten-Torbor-Sheppard

    WLBPoz-Coleman

    JLB-Miller-Moats-Maybin

    LCB- McGee-Corner-Youboty

    RCB-Florence-McKelvin

    FS-Byrd- Wilson

    SS Whitner-Scott

    qb Fitzpatrick-Brown-Dalton

    FB McIntyre-Hill

    WR-Nelson-Jones-Easley

    RB Jackson-Spiller-Ganther

    LT Bell-Wang-Pinkston

    LG-Levitre-Howard

    C- Wood-Hangartner

    RG- Rhinehart-Brown

    RT-Wrotto-Howard-Pears

    TE- Nelson-Martin-Stupar

    WR-Johnson-Parrish-Roosevelt

I would sign a big back for short yardage and keep looking for upgardes at TE, RT, and CB

Version 1.0 not bad and a tad optimistic, but in realm of possibility. This looks like a good football team IMO

  6. My point is Maybin could whoop your @$$

what the hell does that have to with the Bills? Is your assumption kind of like "my daddy could beat up your daddy?". I hope Maybin becomes a football player. But it is a thin line between hope and folly. Maybin has shown me nothing yet. And I am still amazed we wasted a high draft pick on him

I'm 6'4'' 251 and I bench 325. How much $ do you want to put down?

    another internet tough guy

  7. 1 11 Ryan Mallet QB Arkansas (steal out from Minnesota at 12)

    2 34 Jabal Sheard DE/OLB Pittsburgh

2 42 Steven Paea NT Oregon State

3 68 Marcus Gilbert OT Florida

    3 73 Bruce Carter OLB N. Carolina

    4 100 John Moffitt G/C Wisconsin

    4 122 Buster Scrine CB UT-Chattanooga

    5 133 Chris O'Dowd C USC

    6 169 Cedrick Thornton DE/DT Southern Arkansas

7 206 Ryan Whelen WR Stanford

7 245 Nate Williams SS Washington

reaching big time for Mallet and not addressing ILB. I do like it otherwise after the first round

  8. Sheard is an exceptional talent. I've posted about him a few times over the past week and like I said earlier, he's flying under the radar for some reason.

In all the debate about pass rushers, not many people are focusing on the 2nd tier players except for Brooks Reed, Akeem Ayers and Justin Houston (there's also been very little discussion about Aldon Smith who is VERY close to, if not better than Robert Quinn in the first tier).

Sheard is right there with Reed, Ayers and Houston. I doubt very much that he slides into the 3rd round. Sheard could actually be drafted in the first round and I personally like him more than the other three.

Here's a scouting report and video from 3 games.

    http://draftbreakdown.com/scouting-report-jabaal-sheard

Sheard played defensive end and had average anchor ability as a DE. As an oversized linebacker that wouldn't be an issue. Yes he had the incident where he assaulted a man…on the other hand as Dre pointed out, he also received a citation for bravery for saving a woman from a burning house.

Sheard also was elected captain by his teammates and showed toughness in playing through injuries and starting 38 straight games. He might not be a choir boy but he has that toughness and football temperament that scouts and coaches love.

Sold. Good chance he does go in the first. I bet he goes higher then projected and that teams are keeping quiet about Sheard for a reason. Me personally- I would love to see us draft Miller and Sheard and terrorize QB's. And in a perfect world, Maybin learns to bring it too. In my Bills dream they pummel Brady like the Giants did in the Superbowl.

Another great scenerio is the trade down and get Sheard. Our #1 biggest need IMO is a pass rusher. And it don't matter if we get it at pick 3 or late in the 1st. And the more the merrier

  9. This was on Mythbusters. They had subjecs make up a list of random words to yell when in pain "Marshmellow. Puppy Dogs. Grilled Cheese" etc and then had subject submerge their arm in ice water and try and keep it their for 3 minutes.

Then they tried the same experiment, and allowed them to swear. There was a noticeable increase in how long they could withstand the ice water when they were allowed to swear.

    so !@#$ off !@#$ !@#$ !@#$ing !@#$ers
