  1. Yes and no. It all depends on the plan. If the decision is the Bills/Bengals game is replayed in week 19 then suddenly everyone else has a bye. If the decision is to expand the playoffs to 8 teams per conference (believe that was the COVID plan), then additional teams may now be in the hunt. It does not seem to me (and I’m no expert by any means) that any scenario does not have larger reaching implications. Hence why I think the NFL has to announce how they plan to handle this by Saturday.
  2. Someone said it earlier and they’re right - the health of Hamlin is biggest concern. I do not know what the league will opt to do regarding rescheduling the game or playoff seeding. There seem to be very few good choices, and no matter what is decided some teams will feel the decision unfairly impacts them and their playoff odds. What I do believe is that the league MUST announce how they plan to handle the currently postponed Bills/Bengals game and playoff seeding prior to Saturday. If they do not then seemingly half the AFC would be unsure if their games mattered or not. I believe the NFL will wait either as long as possible or until there is some POSITIVE news regarding Hamlin’s health status to announce anything. They don’t want to appear callous.
  3. Hutch’s is one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at. First time post, but it had to be shared.
  4. Tell him the quarterback is made out of crunchy nougats... If he's that good, then I don't have a problem with it - just takes proper motivation.
  5. Good point. I suppose it's all relative when you look at it that way. I think there needs to be some regard paid to the gamble that the Bills took on Peters. We took a chance on a hefty TE and turned him into a quality LT. 31 competing firms took a pass on him the first time around, when he was unproven talent. If my firm hired me at minimal wages when I thought I was an IT person, and then sculpted me into a top class sales person, I'd have to owe some of my success to my firm taking a chance on me. I'd hope that'd make me want to show up and keep performing each day, which would make them want to pay me what a top class sales person makes in turn (possibly after I establish some consistency as well). Something of a drawn out analogy, but the moral of the story stays the same - show up and perform, and you'll get rewarded for it.
  6. Pace's deal shouldn't affect Peter's negotiations - they're at totally different points in their careers. Peter's should have learned something from last year anyway. He is a talented player, but he whined about his contract and held out, and because of that had a sub-par season. Which, by the way, doesn't really lend itself any leverage to the argument that he should be making huge money as an elite LT. Peter's should be learning something from Lee Evans, a very talented WR who showed up for camp, showed up every week, did not have a stellar season, but was rewarded with a handsome contract extension. The Bills brass likes players who show up, perform, and are consistent leaders. Lee could have held out and demanded more money because he's a top caliber WR, but instead he showed up every week and was rewarded with a contract extension. Maybe if Mr. Peter's payed some attention, he'd learn that showing up and performing might earn him some dollars as well? Just my opinion. And hey, it's just one good season. I once closed a big deal at work - I didn't immediately demand a raise thinking I'm one of the best damn salesman out there.
  7. ...and I just got a SCREAMING deal on this Willis McGahee jersey too...any thoughts?
  8. That was easily one of the most hilarious/awesome moments of Buffalo Bills footage in the last decade. Thanks for reminding me of that! He looked like he was ready to collapse when he got into the end zone.
  9. ...yup, wake up still smiling on Tuesday with a big ol' "We just handed the Pat's butts to them on a national stage" smile on my face. Which is something I think I've experienced exactly once in the last 8 years...and it was a Monday when I woke up, which actually subtracts from the feeling. It's a nice thought though, isn't it?
  10. I can deal with his mental deficiencies given his physical toughness, which is something that I think TE lacks. I know he's trying to bulk up and make his body stronger, but he's also shown that he's slightly prone to injuries (it doesn't help when our O-Line doesn't pick up blitzing safeties). He is a proven NFL QB, something we haven't had since the statue...errr, Bledsoe, and I think he could add a lot to our team. He has an attitude, but I'd wager it's a lesser one than TO has. For that matter, in the 90's we had our share of players with attitudes as well. I guess I'd just hate to see our team rule him out completely. A lot of people have said he's an idiot for whining, teams are supposed to entertain trades if they're for the best of the organization, and I think that's what the Bills should be evaluating here - is this in the best interest of the Buffalo Bills organization? What does a Pro Bowl caliber QB add that we're lacking currently?
  11. At 25 years old, even with a whiny attitude, Cutler is a beast. I'd take him in a heartbeat. As one previous poster mentioned, Cutler is 13-1 when his defense actually shows up (which is rare in Denver). You'd have to imagine that he could continue putting up numbers like that with a decent defense (I'd say ours is an upgrade over Denver's D). Also, the implications that he could have for Lynch/Jackson are crazy to think about. Our running game is already good, and we're thought of as a run first team. Cutler (along with the changes in the WR corps) makes us an instant pass first team. Imagine what ML/FJ could do when defenses are forced not to stack players in the box and respect our passing game slightly more. That being said, I somehow doubt we'll pay the asking price for Cutler or we'll be able to compete with some of the bids other franchises will offer. Hopefully he just doesn't end up playing for the Jets.
  12. Shares of the Buffalo Bills - now trading at $0.04 per share. Wall street is enough fun as is with publicly owned/traded companies - are the Bills a sound investment? That being said, yes I'd buy shares - it'd be worth losing money to keep the team here.
  13. There's a good point - maybe it's because none of them were really great QBs? Bledsoe was good early in his career before he developed the need to ponder what receiver to throw to for 4 to 8 minutes prior to releasing the ball. Flutie could have been a beast...if he were about 6 inches taller.
  14. I'd be stoked if we went for either one. They're both huge upgrades over what we have now at TE or the lottery that is the draft (unproven talent, anyone?). That being said, something tells me that the Bills have made their big moves for the time being and won't be doing anything until after draft day. If I had my choice - Gonzo. Look at the contract we signed TO to...I think that Schef has a longer shelf life (pun...get it?) but I also think that if we're going to go, we should go BIG. After next year our receiving corps may be back to looking for a real 1-2 WR tandem as is.
