I’ll travel to the game in Atlanta.

I can see the stadium on my way to the grocery store. Yes, I’m willing to make that kind of sacrifice.

Been in that stadium, it’s really nice, much better than the Georgia Dome.

I don't have a problem with moving Diggs- unless the plan was to replace him with C Samuel, then that is a terrible plan.

And just because Diggs wasn't good down the stretch doesn't mean you replace them with someone who isn't good.  You try to upgrade.

It may not be easy to get a good veteran WR, but that is Beane's job!  The available WRs are not publicly posted but seems like they would be out there if the offer is right.  That's why I'm thinking post June 1st something happens.

Fair enough, but I think you’re discounting Samuel. He is the most interesting WR signing, the only legitimate QB he ever played with is Newton at the end of his career, others were Kyle Allen, Taylor Heinicke and Sam Howell. He has been on bad teams with bad QBs.

Because the downgrade at such an important position is so large.  WR1 in particular.

You can't seriously tell me you're replacing Diggs with a rookie or an $8M FA Wash WR2/3.  It is such a downgrade, that yes, if significantly affects my entire evaluation of Beane's off-season work.

And I like Beane, I have thought he was one of the best in the business.  The one additional WR keeps him in that realm.  That's why I think it is going to happen.

Diggs was mediocre to downright invisible in multiple games for two seasons, he was a cancer in the locker room. He did the same thing in Minnesota. Diggs had to go. It’s not so easy to go out and get a veteran WR1.

  4. The thing that I don’t understand is, after Corey Stringer died of heat exhaustion the league put in all kinds of rules to protect players. Then they allow the Dolphins to broil their opponents. There should be shade and AC on both sides of that field. I’ve been to games there in November sitting in the sun and thought I was going to pass out and all I’m doing is sitting there.

Early September 🤮Get the IVs ready. At least it’s at night.

It will still be disgustingly hot and humid down here, but it takes shady side vs sunny side out of the equation.

  6. The Bills WRs were mediocre from about the middle of the 2022 season, including Diggs. I’ve said this before, there were games that I wondered out loud if we actually had any WRs. Watching on television makes it impossible to see what is going on down field, WRs seemed to disappear. That group needed to be blown up. Now there are some young guys, some vets, some guys that were in bad situations on bad teams. Who knows who might become available over the summer. Let’s relax and see what happens.

I'm glad to hear they brought Eason in.  He has a big arm and is a big dude. Might be one of the few that could come close to Josh's arm strength.

He was a big time high school prospect.

His father is Tony Eason, no, not that one, the other Tony Eason.

This is the part of Diggs' game we'll miss the most. Diggs is an elite route runner and that's one reason Beane brought him in from the Vikings. Route running is probably the thing that Diggs does best, out of all aspects of his game.  My point is, don't expect Coleman to have this skill, at least not to start with.  I think the Bills will be using numbers to try to get at least one of their receivers open on every play, instead of expecting someone (i.e. Diggs) to be open on almost every play.

“The thing that Diggs does best”, the verb is wrong, it should be did not does. Diggs route running starting in about he middle of 2022 seasons became very suspect.

I don’t know, from everything I know Diggs was a great teammate and hard worker. He just didn’t want to play for the Bills anymore.

Gabe Davis and Shakir looked up to him and both developed great work habits. I don’t think Diggs would’ve been a bad influence.

I know this thread is not about this, but Diggs has now forced a trade by two teams. Why did he want out of both Minnesota and Buffalo? Whatever the answer to that question is, it does not make Diggs a good teammate.

  10. It became evident towards the end of 2022 season that something was wrong with the offense. A lot of people blamed Dorsey, he deserves some blame, but not all. There were times, watching games that I thought we had no WRs. It’s why they felt he need to bring back Beasley and Brown. The defense under Frazier only played well with a lead, no lead, no defense. They looked bad against Bengals twice. This team needed change. Other than that stretch at the end they were not good last season. They lost to the Patriots, who were bad. I’m looking forward to this season, they needed retooling.

Allen has already QB'd offenses where Cole Beasley, John Brown, Stefon Diggs, and Robert Foster (separately) had career years. Of course Gabe Davis had career games, but never really a top flight season. I think the QB can obviously work with a variety of skillsets. Imagine him with improved talent like he has in 2024? (That's right, the overall talent with Coleman, Samuel, Shakir, Kincaid, Knox, Hollins, and Shorter is an actual improvement to past years.)

Why is Shakir having to elevate to #2 when the Bills also signed Samuel? And why are those WR #s so important, but also so impossible to define?

Curtis Samuel is almost the same exact size as Stefon Diggs (but thicker), definitely faster, less productive down the field but more productive in the short and intermediate zones where Brady seems to want to operate, higher draft pick/higher perceived pedigree initially but at a lower tier of production to date, and is 4 years younger...so why isn't he a great idea for this offense? Like a MUCH cheaper but not super substantively-lesser replacement.

People keep discounting Samuel, here are the QBs he has played with, Cam Newton at the end of his career, Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, Taylor Heinicke and Sam Howell. Do you think he might be better playing with Josh Allen?

Cmon man. Shakir replaces Diggs??? Diggs had the four best WR years in Bills history.  There is nothing to suggest Shakir even comes close to that.

For the last two seasons both Diggs and Davis were invisible for long stretches. Maybe you can blame some of that on Dorsey, but not all. By the second half of last season two top receivers were Shakir and Kincaid. Shakir had 39 receptions for 611 yards, Diggs had 107 receptions for 1,183 yards. Shakir caught 39 out of 45 targets, catch percentage was 86.7% highest in the league and yes I went to Wikipedia, that’s what it’s for. Throw the ball to Shakir over 100 times and see how he does.

We are just over 24 hours away from one of my favorite times of the year and what looks to be a fairly exciting draft.

What's everyone's draft environment, food, etc preference?  Also, anyone planning on just living here in the shoutbox?

For me, I get wings, pizza logs, YouTubeTV picture in picture for both NFL Network and ESPN coverage, and laptop open to research picks and complain about who the Bills take.

    What's on your agenda?

You forgot the side of angioplasty. I have dinner, I don’t care what, because I’m too nervous. I just want to watch in peace. I will not accept invitations to do anything, and I will not give an explanation for said declinations. I will be in constant communication with family (other devout Bills fans).
