  1. This one comes from the NBS Sports PFT site. Read the second sentence. "Al" should be "All."

I did an image capture as they will (or, at least should) fix it.

This, coupled with the other "Fitzgerald" post today, is really bad. These people are professionals; c'mon man!

I don't think this is an error, I believe the author was referring to the lone "Al" on the six teams he was talking about. Kind of funky grammar though.

  2. I love all those stats.

The one about the running backs and Spiller is a bit misleading. Spiller IMO is not doing the job when needed.

I disagree, and I think the given stat backs me up. How can Spiller not be doing his job when his rushing avg. is over 6 ypc? Now if you said that Fred is doing the job BETTER (which results in him getting the majority of carries), I would agree, but to say Spiller is not doing his job? Every run can't be a 50 yard romp to the endzone...

...I know, I know, he doesn't have any 50 yard romps to the endzone. But that's not the point.

  3. What do you amend it to?

My challenge is instead of throwing a fit, propose a better rule that actually makes more sense in the model of how officials are supposed to judge. In other words - govern what happened, not what you think the player wants to happen. Maybe if the tip of the ball is pointing down when it comes out? Arm past a certain spot (ala check swings)? What defines a pump fake from a pass until the ball either comes out or returns to the body? Remember this covers a variety of throwing motions, deep balls and short low screens, all release points.... If it were obvious, I think they'd define it differently.

I don't love it, but I understand it.

When the QB has clearly finished his throwing motion and is returning the ball to his chest, it is obviously he is not trying to pass, any reservations on whether or not it was an attempted pass should be gone. That is when Dalton dropped the ball. This should have been a fumble. Also, I don't recall the direction of travel of the ball after the fumble, but if the tuck rule considers the fumble an incomplete pass, the ball should be traveling forward. I believe the "pass" by Dalton should have been considered a lateral instead of an attempted forward pass, therefore it should have been a fumble anyway.

  4. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/total/sort/netTotalYards/position/defense

I don't feel as bad after the game on Sunday, considering who we played. Our big offense met their big defense and we lost by 3 on the road. I'm good.

I'm good also. Although the Bills are much better than they were last year, I didn't think they were top 5 as many power rankings had them. I think this game showed that both the Bills and Bengals are middle of the pack teams, with the Bills probably a bit better overall as long as they don't face the Bengals defense every week. Further, Buffalo had a bad week and the Bengals played great and took advantage of the fact.

  5. I don't get all this Tasker hate with all the other buffoons on air. Other than Collinsworth, is there any colour guy who actually has consistently good insight?

I agree. Collinsworth is a great colour guy and other than that, most the rest are horrible. I like Tasker since he doesn't fellate any one player, like most colour guys do with say Brady, Manning, and *gasp* Bruschi. I also like Tasker since it seems like he genuinely knows what he is talking about, at least more so than 95% of the rest of them.

  6. Cant you just buy a really cheap ticket and enjoy it in person? Some TVs/Computers hook up with HDMI some require a DVI cable (i think thats what it is called..) you can get them at Best Buy or Frys if there is one in the area. I think Target and Walmart carry them also

Fair Warning: If you do go to a store to buy a cable, find the cheapest one they have. Upper-echelon cables for use in digital data transmission (HDMI/DVI) will not give you any better performance than that of the bargain basement brand.

  7. What scares the crap out of me is that the 2007 Patriots started 3-0 finished 16-0 and then lost the Super Bowl. I can't take another Super Bowl loss, let's make sure that doesn't happen and hope they don't win this week so the comparisons to that NE team will stop.

Better than not making the playoffs for another year...

  8. Strategically, it was a better long term choice for Brady to let the TD go. Losing one game is not as bad as losing Brady for the season.

I'm entertaining the idea that its quite possible that Belichick has told him not to make an effort in such situations. If I was a coach and had a player on my team as important as Brady is, I wouldn't be to keen on letting him play defense.

  9. This bimbo is just down right stupid. That was a condesending slap in the face article to all Bills nation. Hope she gets canned.

I just read the article and it reads to me that she is either a Pats or Jets fan that is using her job as a means to trash talk opposing fans. Insanely improper and childish and she should be canned for it. I would be offended even if I wasn't a Bills fan if that was in my paper. Thankfully, even though I do live very near to Albany, I don't bother picking up copies of the Times Union, and now I never will. Heck, I might just block their website.

  10. 4-0 is possible but dial back the enthusiasm a little. We have to beat Oakland first. Beating NE will be a monumental challenge and the first true measure of this team. Cinci did not look that bad either yesterday.

Pfft, after what I saw yesterday, I'm with the Senator on this one, 19 and 0 Baby!!!!! :nana:
