A lot of those INTs were luck. Sure he had to be in the right place at the right time, but a lot of those passes were just poorly thrown balls or tipped balls that happened to drop in his hands.
That's the beauty of actually having a pass rush. The percentage of balls that are poorly thrown or tipped goes up, which allows for the secondary, and specifically, ball hawking safeties (see: ed reed), to take advantage of.
I expect Byrd to have a great season.

The possibilities for an amazing defensive season are endless ... we have a coach with the smarts, we have 3 amazing talents on the DL in Williams, Williams, and Dareus plus when Kelsay puts his hand down he is an above average DE for containing the run and getting to the QB (No, he should not have been playing LB but when you watch the games when he is at DE Kelsay always is doing what he is supposed to be doing (I'll never figure out the naysayers.).).
I figure either Kelsay and/or K-Williams to have a HUGE season this year. Offenses will be preoccupied with trying to contain Mario and Dareus, which will leave K-Williams or Kelsay with single coverage with no help from the backfield. K-Williams hasn't been able to do too much in his years here as he's been the main target of the offense. This changes, and I cannot wait to see the results.

So does this mean I have to start watching the games again in the fall only to be miserably dissappointed by November??
Absolutely. Everyone else does it, why shouldn't you?

Seems Payton manning signed with the titans that's a good sign!

My god that was obvious. Trying to hard guy.

If Weird Al gets the gig and the Bills make the Big Game, we can all party like it's 1699!
youtube.com/watch?v=xo74Dn7W_pA
I bet he could do a great parody of "Are You Ready For Some Football?" (if Hank Williams would let him after losing the Monday Night gig). Or better yet, do one parody of each half time performer of the last few years
If I remember correctly, he doesn't actually need permission from the artist to do it, as it's categorized as parody and isn't subject to copyright law, though I could be wrong. Weird Al is just a good guy and asks permission from the artist beforehand.

Mmmm, but some are, like OP said.
Mmmm, most aren't real funny.

Obviously we should trade Ryan Fitzpatrick for a franchise long snapper!!!!
We can win the Super Bowl with ANYONE under center!!!! The Ravens did it with Trent Dilfer!!!!
Only idiots think having a good quarterback is important!!!!
No way would trading Fitzgerald land us a franchise long snapper, maybe Fitzrichard and 2-3 firsts, at which point adding in Fitzbaldwin is pointless.

Brilliant. Pickup a 36 yr. old QB that's finished (3 neck surgeries in < 2 yrs.... fusion) and sucks up so much salary cap space that the team can't improve.
He will retire.... cuz he can't play no more.
Truth. Even if he can play a year or two, it would just hurt the team more in the long run.

Failed at what?
According to your logic, Tom Brady barely made the grade at #14 And Fitz graded better than 2 playoff QBs. FYI, in week #8 Fitz was ranked 4th.
PTR
They're referring to the season QBR, not individual weeks: 2011 Regular Season QBR
Brady comes in at #3 with a QBR of 74.2

I'd rather have Robert Griffin 3 or Landry Jones. And if that kid in Miami comes out then him over case as well.
We need a sexy QB with crazy talent to get the Ralph filled again.
First stop is to resign Stevie.
NO. They need to win to get the Ralph filled again.

Good for him for speaking his mind. Although it's talk like this that can come back to haunt you.
It will probably come back to haunt him while he is Jets player, but if I were any other team, I would be after this kid as it shows he wants to be a team player.
-
Fitz has not been playing with busted ribs or anything for the last 8 weeks. He may very well have been "damaged" from that hit even though he did not suffer a concussion.
I'm not saying he has been playing hurt, but that was the basis of OP's question, not whether or not his mentality about the game had changed.
-
Would that pass be similar to the one we gave TrINT Edwards after the Adrian Wilson hit?
There's a difference in playing hurt and playing damaged.

"J.Losman sacked in end zone by P.Hunt for a Safety"
Just like old times. I just picked him on my fantasy team, I believe it will be worth it.

Is there a Stupid Thread of the Year award on TBD? We could call it the STOYS. I would nominate this thread. Unless, of course, there's a Queer Eye for the Straight Guy section and this was just misplaced.
Good luck sorting through the nominees. If the award existed, there'd be 20+ entries a day.

My argument:
It takes time to shave and trim a beard. Since Fitz is doing neither of those, he has more time to focus on Football. Fitz is SACRIFICING his appearance to have more time for football.

Check again.
No! You check again! (still says WRGB has the game)
-
Wow, even the Capital Region is getting the game. And here I thought I was spared the pain of watching them again this week.
-
No playoffs, no Luck. Of course it's disappointing.
Still time to create some positive memories though. We can start by releasing Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Yeah, and then we can pick up Rob Johnson!
-
I agree they shouldn't claim him, but from what I read last season, Buddy was trying to get him but they wouldn't offer enough. Our clueless front office just got lucky on that non-deal.
Or maybe they were not clueless at all and didn't offer "enough" because they were well aware he was not worth that much. Way to turn it around on the front office being clueless though, you are very good at that.

Back of the endzone. It was thrown behind him but he had two hands on it, and it went right through his hands. He even had a chance on the last play of the game.
He did not have two hands on it. It looked like he did in realtime, but the replay showed that the ball was out of his reach. I don't think he even was able to touch it, and if he did touch it, it was only with the tips of his fingers. He had almost no chance on that throw.
-
FITZ is not a super star. He's a risk taker who looks good when it works out and a buffoon when it doesnot. Just look at hte last 3 weeks for his TD to INT ratio.
Granted, he hasn't been great the last few weeks, but saying that just looking at the TD:INT ratio is a good indicator of how good he is? Come on. The ONLY two INTs "he" threw sunday were a direct result of two drops. Those INT's should be marked down as the WR's mistake's (especially Smith's drop...that was bad), not Fitz's.
-
Reads to me like he was just making a joke. Also, it seems to me to be more of a compliment to Freddy and how he can put the offense on his back and carry it.
-
A worse and truly ridiculous rule is "illegal block in the back" on returns. Does this rule ever spare anyone any injury? I don't see how.
I don't think this is a necessarily bad rule, just one that is called WAY to strictly.
Power Rankings?

This is what I tell myself every year...
No reason not to get my hopes up this year again though!
