  1. If this team can stay reasonably healthy (plenty of missed games, but No killer IR listings), you really have to like them in 2012. Get your popcorn ready. Assuming no killer IR listings, this probably is the turnaround year. Get your tickets.

This is what I tell myself every year...

No reason not to get my hopes up this year again though!

  2. A lot of those INTs were luck. Sure he had to be in the right place at the right time, but a lot of those passes were just poorly thrown balls or tipped balls that happened to drop in his hands.

That's the beauty of actually having a pass rush. The percentage of balls that are poorly thrown or tipped goes up, which allows for the secondary, and specifically, ball hawking safeties (see: ed reed), to take advantage of.

I expect Byrd to have a great season.

  3. The possibilities for an amazing defensive season are endless ... we have a coach with the smarts, we have 3 amazing talents on the DL in Williams, Williams, and Dareus plus when Kelsay puts his hand down he is an above average DE for containing the run and getting to the QB (No, he should not have been playing LB but when you watch the games when he is at DE Kelsay always is doing what he is supposed to be doing (I'll never figure out the naysayers.).).

I figure either Kelsay and/or K-Williams to have a HUGE season this year. Offenses will be preoccupied with trying to contain Mario and Dareus, which will leave K-Williams or Kelsay with single coverage with no help from the backfield. K-Williams hasn't been able to do too much in his years here as he's been the main target of the offense. This changes, and I cannot wait to see the results.

  4. If Weird Al gets the gig and the Bills make the Big Game, we can all party like it's 1699!

I bet he could do a great parody of "Are You Ready For Some Football?" (if Hank Williams would let him after losing the Monday Night gig). Or better yet, do one parody of each half time performer of the last few years

If I remember correctly, he doesn't actually need permission from the artist to do it, as it's categorized as parody and isn't subject to copyright law, though I could be wrong. Weird Al is just a good guy and asks permission from the artist beforehand.

  5. I agree they shouldn't claim him, but from what I read last season, Buddy was trying to get him but they wouldn't offer enough. Our clueless front office just got lucky on that non-deal.

Or maybe they were not clueless at all and didn't offer "enough" because they were well aware he was not worth that much. Way to turn it around on the front office being clueless though, you are very good at that.

  6. Back of the endzone. It was thrown behind him but he had two hands on it, and it went right through his hands. He even had a chance on the last play of the game.

He did not have two hands on it. It looked like he did in realtime, but the replay showed that the ball was out of his reach. I don't think he even was able to touch it, and if he did touch it, it was only with the tips of his fingers. He had almost no chance on that throw.

  7. FITZ is not a super star. He's a risk taker who looks good when it works out and a buffoon when it doesnot. Just look at hte last 3 weeks for his TD to INT ratio. :bag:

Granted, he hasn't been great the last few weeks, but saying that just looking at the TD:INT ratio is a good indicator of how good he is? Come on. The ONLY two INTs "he" threw sunday were a direct result of two drops. Those INT's should be marked down as the WR's mistake's (especially Smith's drop...that was bad), not Fitz's.
