I just received an email from DirecTV stating they are going to test their streaming service by letting Sunday Ticket subscribers use it to view the preseason games on Thursday, 9/1.
Duh, I just checked my system and I see no games scheduled.
Any advice?

Seconded.
Greg Little cut; I sure as heck do not think so.
Yeah, he has his drops but 6"2 1/2, 220 lbs of muscle, and 4.53 combine time make him a big and attractive target. Watch him run his routes. He seems to either out muscle or out run the defender, and more often than not gets reasonably open quite a bit.
No way in the world I would consider cutting him.

The Bills understand this concept, but plainly they don't agree that Goodwin will never amount to anything. Goodwin has been with the organization since 2013 and the team has watched and coached him in every practice and at every game for which he has suited up since that time. The fact that the team has continued to give Goodwin opportunities--and now have him slotted as the number three receiver--despite his injury history, shows that they think highly of his ability. The Bills, who know Goodwin better than anyone as a teammate and as a football player, are most definitely not on board with your crusade.
Thanks, mannc. That's pretty much what I've been saying for all of training camp, especially since the concussion. The Bills are right to gamble on his health because when he is injury free, he's dynamite.

Perfect example of why we shouldn't give on Manuel so soon is Drew Brees (I am not saying that Manuel is Drew Brees by any way, shape or form, but a comparison can be made).
In recent years, there have been a lot of "NFL ready" quarterbacks coming out of college, but often times NFL QB's take years to develop. Take a look at Brees. His rookie year (late 2nd round pick), he only played 1 game which he didn't start, so let's use his 2nd season as effectively his rookie year.
He started 16 games, went 8-8, hitting 60.8% of his passes, 17 TDs, 16 Ints and a passer rating of 76.9
The following season. he went 2-9, hitting 57.6% of his passes, 11TDs, 15 Ints and a passer rating of 67.5
Everyone in San Diego at this point basically threw in the towel and they drafted Philip Rivers. The following year, Brees goes on to the Pro-bowl and has since been there 7 more times and may even be a HOF'er.
Manuel's stats are not stellar by any means, but realistically not too far off of Brees's in his first year.
4-6, 58.8%, 11-9 and 77.7. The guy is 23, got thrown to wolves and had to deal with a series of non-serious knee injuries. Give him a full training camp and the keys to the car and see what he can do.
Nice post, Coach55, shows that unlike some of the opinions on the board, Manual´s stats were not to terrifically bad. I think that I would settle for another cool Brees.

A real dumb butt post, my friend.Correction: We hope EJ becomes is a great starter... Thad is an adequate good backup and Tuel isn't that bad. an abomination
-
Hey, if we win those six you mentioned then we'd being clicking along on a roll and the NE game would be within reach.
-
I'd say that given full health our receivers have the potential to break into the top 10 in the league.
-
You should know that 4.46 is pretty darned fast for a guy 6'2", 220. Not many in the league that big with that kind of speed.I see 4.46 as his combine time when I do a Google search. Not shabby. But its not elite speed.

i wouldnt call easley a rookie at all. mental reps are a huge benefit to any player, in fact studies show mental reps are literally almost as good as actual physical practice. all that time around nfl camps, meetings, and film sessions are invaluable to his development despite not playing a single down
nevertheless, he has not played a single down. and weve seen time and time again how camp/preseason work simply does not translate with any reliability into on field performance. he would need a simply monster pre-season while jones stumbles to have any chance at starting the opener. and even then its unlikely. id give hagen and his experience a much better chance at wresting the starting designation from jones in time for the opener than easley
so realistically easley is at this time just another scrub with a long hill to climb to establish himself in any manner until the games start for real. fortunately for him, the bills run so many multi-wr sets that he will get his regular season chances and its that performance that will determine if he can move his way up (or down)
I don't know how much attention you are paying to the fact that that man will be attending his 3rd training camp, gaining tremendous knowledge and confidence therein. Additionally, last year he had a couple, particularly one, pretty darned impressive pre-season game. It really seems that he is a gamer, Meatheat.
Throw in the fact that he is 6'2", comes in at about 220 lbs, regularly out muscles defenders, and oh yeah, runs the 40 in anywhere from 3.9 to 4.6, and we have a pretty darned impressive WR on our team. I only hope that nothing more unseen shows up to set him back again. If not I'm thinking worst case scenario for him is to spend most of this year getting re acclimated and then claim sole possession of #2 next year.

Adam Schefter was just on ESPN saying that talking to sources around the league he dosent believe that Kalil is a lock for the number 3 pick by the vikings. Since Cleveland has an All-Pro caliber tackle in Joe Thomas and Tampa has a bunch of money invested in Donald Penn, would you be willing to trade up to 5 and edge out St. Louis if this situation occurs? If we give our first and second pick (1780 pts) it should equal the 5 overall pick (1700 pts) according to the trade value chart.
Personally I would love to since it means if we can get Levitre locked up we have our offensive and defensive lines set for the next five years. Your thoughts?
No way Jose!
There are other fish in the pond just a hair under him. Go for one of them!!

Ok I know He's not as big a position of Need but I am not sold on any of the talent that may be available at 10. Decastro has the makings to being a special guard in this League...maybe even Elite.I don't feel comfortable saying that about the others. It is just my opinion of course but why not take a player who seems like a surefire starter from day one as opposed to those available at tacle and WR that may be good. To me Decastro is a stud lineman and will make our OLine and team better from day 1.....thoughts?
Just surprising that you would pick a guard when you are set in the middle. Tackle...yes, guard...no!

I see alot of kuechly talk, what about the other prospects? Like zach brown, bruce irvin, keeanan robinson, donta hightower, ronnell lewis.. I havent seen much tape/discussion on these guys and would like to get some input from everyone if they have any on these guys. I think the bills HAVE to come away with a power linebacker. Someone who can make BIG hits and cause fear and turn overs, are any of these guys really big hitters? Also they have to be able to cover somewhat imo, but we need some force to be there at the LB position
Zach Brown 2nd rounder.

10 Buffalo Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa - Buffalo has passed on offensive line options in recent years, but Reiff would be a good option to buck the trend. The Bills have made big strides on the defensive side of the ball this offseason, and that allows them to focus on shoring up the offense. Reiff will help protect, but is a complete player and will provide a spark in the running game as well.
Don Bank's New Mock (4.0)10 Buffalo Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa The Bills are another team thought to have Floyd on their radar, but the value of getting a potential blindside tackle for quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick keeps me returning to Reiff as the safer and more sensible pick.

41 Buffalo Brian Quick WR Appalachian St. - A favorite of mine, Quick has big-time size and can stretch the field. Buffalo lacks a true deep threat.
Hard to argue, isn't it!
Draft these guys, sign them up, and go to the playoffs!!
Simple, huh!

If Fitz, who I believe just doesn't have the arm to get the job done, can't get us to the superbowl there are still ways to get a good good QB without drafting in the top ten, because I doubt we will be there any time soon. A top QB could acquired if a Good QB has an injury and his team doesn't want him anymore like Peyton and Brees. Maybe Roethlisberger gets killed again behind that line cuz they need upgrades everywhere but center and they can't do it in one year. Or guys like Mallett or Skelton become trade bait, really wish we would have drafted Mallett over Sheppard and am really Glad we got Ed Wang and Levi Brown over Skelton. Then there is the Chance that we get a mid round prospect that becomes a star like Joe Montana and Brady, Guys like Kirk Cousins, Brock Osweiler, B.J. Coleman and Nick Foles.
My greatest hope is Fitz turns into Drew Brees but if that doesn't happen we are going to need an upgrade at the QB position.
Go back to sleep for awhile. We WILL go into the playoffs this year, and probably past the first round or two.
This is a solid team, my friend, and Fitzpatrick can take us where we need to go. Keep in mind, he started off the year great last year before suffering cracked ribs.

We are picking Reiff/DeCastro in round 1. If they are both gone that would be quite a bad thing but one or both should still be there . There are 15-20 receivers in this draft with good talent. There are not very many starting tackles. Take the lineman or you don't get one.. Simple as that.
I suppose you're right, but then again imagine drafting a decent OT at #2 and a WR like Floyd at #1. Pretty big nightmare for opposing defenses, wouldn't you say?
Four WR set and we throw Floyd, Johnson, Nelson, and Easley at them in a 4 WR set. Well, who is going to cover all those guys.......................answer is no team can!!
-
The reason I've had trouble fully getting behind the idea to take Floyd at 10, despite the fact that he's supposed to be as good as Blackmon on tape, is the depth at the WR class this year. What happens if WRs are the BPAs in the second or third round? Do you stock up on WRs? Reach for a player with lower value? ::shrug::
O have to say that's a tough one. I cannot really make up my mind between WR and OT for #1 pick, much less which WR to take.
Best WR then OT #2
or
best OT then WR #2
???

Farewell little guy
@ProFootballTalk: Chargers agree to terms with free-agent WR/KR Roscoe Parrish on a one-year deal, per league source.
I liked him from day 1...it was a poor usage issue and then lately health problems. Too bad. I wish him the best!

Beginning to look like OT or WR in the 1st round alright, leaning toward OT now that Bell has resigned elsewhere.
Anyway you look at it, though, we have an upgrade over last year.
-
I believe it would be in the best interest of the team to re-sign Demetrius Bell, our starting left tackle from last season. Our offensive line really worked well together, even with the rash of injuries, giving up the fewest sacks I can recall in recent memory. It would also stop the decade long "develope and watch them leave" approach to our left tackle position. We can then use our draft to build up our depth at linebacker, cornerback, wide receiver, and tackle. Heck, we can throw in a few more pass rushers while we're at it. I wouldn't mind seeing Floyd or Kirkpatrick picked at 10 if we're not sold on the available tackles.
I concur! Now let's convince people over at 1 Bills Drive and we're all set. OK? You first!
-
You never can have too many pass rushers! And Gmen wrote the book on how to beat Pats. Go Mario!
That's hard to argue against, and I won't, but I'm thinking that we've made defensive improvements to start off with so how about an offensive player? Anyone for WR? There are a couple of good ones, one of whom will certainly be available; and wouldn't that really round out an explosive Offense!

Anyone hear this interview on Sirius? Sims looked at a bunch of tape on several on the quarterbacks that are in the draft, and the Tannehill comments were interesting. He said that Tannehill played in the most pro-style offense compared to all the others. Tannehill made a lot of sideline throws, going for single coverage. I'm guessing Sims is referring to the deep out route. Sims wouldn't guess where he'd go in the draft, however Kerwin had him going to Miami. That would help our chances of someone we like falling to 10.
Could be he surprises everyone and turns out to be the top QB in the draft. Don't scoff! Remember Brady? Round #6 pick!

Lately, it seems that Poe has been losing steam, that despite being a freakish athlete, he has very pedestrian on tape in a small conference (5 sacks total, only one this past year). Mayock even has him as the 4th highest DT. Hill, on the other hand, has been gaining steam, with some people saying that even though he's raw, he can still win 1-on-1 match-ups in the red zone and catch the deep ball immediately, leading to a good number of TDs for a rookie.
Now, I'm not saying that both of them, or even one of them will still be on the board when we're on the clock in the second round, but my question for all of you is this: if both of them are still on the board in round 2, which do you take and why? Do you even take either? Do you pass on both? Let me know what you think.
Wasted pick....better served by drafting other positions of real need i.e. OT, WR, LB, CB
-
Have been going back and forth between LT and WR. With D. Bell still not finding a team there remains a possibly he might come back.
Since we did such a great job on D so far this offseason I think the offense will get a new toy. So my first round pick would be....
Micheal Floyd WR
Fitz needs another WR to take pressure off of Stevie. Plus he can catch balls when hes not really open. Think he will be the choice only if D.Bell is resigned. Imagine if you will Stevie, Fred, CJ, Floyd, Nelson on the field at the same time sweet.
My alternate picks would be...
Courtney Upshaw LB Alabama
Luke Kuechly LB Boston College
J. Martin LT Stanford
I kind of like Floyd.
I'm thinking that when we line up 4 WRs; Johnson - Floyd - Nelson - Easley
Somebody want to tell me what team is going to cover those 4 guys. Duh...answer is with a little bit of blocking, no team!
Sully throws in the towel too

Where do you get this crap from?
Lost 2 Lawson's? Yeah, but 1 is for maybe 6 games, and the other just got beat out for a spot. That means somebody better will be playing.
Dareus? Only 4 games!
A. Williams He will be back, maybe even opening game.
Sammy is fine and poised for a pro-bowl year.
Kyle? By all reports he is recovered and ready for the season.
Glass half empty, huh? No man, half full!
