  1. I wasn't taking an issue with the lack of debate, I'm taking issue with you as a person and as a "poster". You're ignorant, you obviously don't have a real education and it shows through your Dennis Miller impression. Much like Ashton, you suck. Take care scamp
  2. Really? Do you just follow me around to disagree? I now agree with the folks who say you really have no life.
  3. ONCE AGAIN, it wasn't an essay gents! It was a DETAIL list of facts. Instead of your normal sarcastic retort why not try and see that the FACTS present the case(WHICH HAS TO DO WITH THE TITLE OF THE THREAD). Obviously none of you robots have ever had a conversation about a subject in DETAIL. I did make one point fella, the entire point was that the issues in the "Middle East" are our fault! Now if you have some new information or facts to present then go right ahead, if not the I suggest you go back to commenting on threads about Haynesworth & Tony Washington. Read about the subject before you consider involving yourself in a conversation about it. Also, when four chaps such as yourselves decide to take jabs at my post, it doesn't offend me as a matter of fact it proves my point. God Bless America
  4. Seems pretty radical to me, are you calling out for your fellows to kill me? You're an adult aren't you?
  5. I wasn't debating anything. RULE ONE IN A DEBATE SETTING: Set a tone and give two parties the setting to debate the tone.
  6. You're a waste of time fella "Finals Week" Do you understand where our financial market is? Do you understand WE as a Nation borrow monthly to pay our bills? I'm not being dramatic, it's a fact that China and other nations "Bid" for securities in the U.S. financial system so the Government can pay their programs, their employees and their interest. Do you understand what a deregulated market is? Do you understand what credit is? Do you understand anything that doesn't end with some sort of pun? I dearly hope you do, because you'll be paying for it your entire life and maybe your children will too. "Greed will drive us to soar to the heavens and cause us to back down through the earth and straight to hell"-Henry Kissinger
  7. Did you just look that up? Or have you been in a debate setting? If you had, you'd be familiar with what Policy Lite is.
  8. Someone states facts and your objective is to corral the as ignorant? It's pups like you who make me weap for the future.
  9. DrFish, did you click spell check before you clicked post? I'm sure you did. This isn't a thesis, this isn't a case study being submitted to be logged in some book. It's a conversation, an electronic one and typically the focus shouldn't be on making Ms.Barton proud but to convey our thoughts. Doctor? I'm guessing you're a doctor in the same sense that Doctor Pepper is a "Doctor" or that Doctor Quinn Medicine Woman is a "Doctor". Run along scamp.
  10. Do you remember LBJ? Poor people existed(we did not live in a utopia) those poor folk? Were called "Colored Folk" for the most part, a far more modest style of living was the trend back then. We didn't stuff our faces with credit card debit and things we couldn't afford. Want to know how far we've come? Owning a Cadillac was a status symbol, owning more than one television was for the wealthy and not common in our normal neighborhoods. Why? We could have taken loans out for such thing, most of us had good reputations with our local S&L's but we DIDN'T! Because WE learned the value of a buck EARLY ON in our rearing years. The WASTE NOT WANT NOT attitude applied in most cases, we knew our roles in our family/society as well as the workplace better. We informed ourselves by reading piles of books, strapping them up and WALKING TO SCHOOL for the most part. The things that have made our lives easier COMPUTERS/CELL PHONES/TECHNOLOGY in general became the first thing we over ate. Things are vastly different now, the progress we sought in those days turned into the horrid reality you all face today. My generation is surely a fault for sculpting the beast and sending him off for your generation or the one before it to make him easier to use. Sloth is a deadly sin, greed is a deadly sin, gluttony is a deadly sin and our society has been found guilty of all of them. Hopefully these next generation folks can forget about righting our wrongs and do right by themselves and those down the line, if we do that then maybe we've got a chance to keep this thing going. Well that's my two cents.
  11. It's better to be thought of a fool than to open your mouth and prove as such.
  12. What if this quested had been asked by Klaatu?
  13. Those are the retorts? I was wrong on "us" having a chance to change the tides, we're all doomed and rightfully so I suppose. Let's all go to Walmart.
  14. Obviously none of you took debate in college, typically you'd receive three related ideas in one sentence. HENCE THE EARLIER FORMAT, as for the teaspoon comment that was very clever and considering you yourself was once at that same depth before birth I take it as a compliment. Folks, it's perception and the way you observe information. Not one of you had a real thought on the matter, just a group of Dennis Learys, it goes to show you that no cyber forum can be intellectual and cannot carry an ORGANIZED debate. Congrats fellas you are all funny enough to be ignorant.
  15. O.J. Did it, that's not debatable. Oprah has no talent and only found a gap in television programming during the early 1990's otherwise she'd still be working "Good Afternoon West Lake".
  16. "Tom" I highly doubt that, but it's fun to play pretend isn't it? I'll leave you and "Ieatcrayonz" to debate that topic. Please stay off intellectual threads, you're just ignorant.
  17. The Man who played the chimp Dr.Cornelius was Roddy McDowell. Don Cornelius the Man who hosted Soul Train. Now that we've cleared that up, I have to ask did you eat paint chips as a kid?
  18. A call to... James Madison, the Father of our Constitution once told Virginians it was their "Duty" to kill red coats. Why such radical thinking in the Middle East? Why can't they just watch The Simpson's and order KFC like the rest of us? Well because we righted a wrong without making sure the wrong we were righting was right by those were wronging (Pretty complex huh?) Okay, NAZI Germany persecutes Jews and an entire World War is fought to stop this New Napoleon from turning the order of Europe on it's head (Oh, and because he and is comrads are guilty of genocide). So the WAR ends and now as a sympathetic Nation/People/Society/Government we decide we're going to find a home where Jews can be safe from such tyrants and free to thrive in the ancient home of their ancestors. The newly formed United Nations, Great Britain a.k.a. "Great Britain"/ENGLAND decide they're going turn over all rights to an area which is equal to 1/3rd the present day size of Israel to these people. Sounds lovely! Problem is, Arabs most notably "Palestinians" had been dwelling/occupying/inhabiting the area in one way shape or form for about 1,400 years (As the majority) and shared it with the aforementioned Jewish ancestors dating back to the 12th Century B.C. , these "Philistines" had too staked a claim to these lands but had lost them under British/Ottoman and Roman rule. So now fast forward to present day, Israel is a Jewish State supported by The United Nations, The World's Super Giants and by the entire Western World (exclude a lone dictator in Venezuela) but where is the Palestinian State? That's where the answer is, WE backed a Jewish State but neglected the rights of the tenants (Palestinians) before we bequeathed the title/deed over to the Israeli's. Naturally you could see how this rubbed the "Arab World" the wrong way, follow that with not once, not twice but three CIA backed operations to oust a government/leader/party in the Middle East because they were going to Nationalize oil deposits held by the British or ourselves. That's just the 1950's alone folks! WE were involved in a total of sixteen operations aimed at placing a favorable governing body/leader/figure in the Arab Nations during the last sixty years. Also, the fellas we put in charge or inserted were tyrants. ( The "Shah" of Iran replaced Mohammed Mossadegh through our backing because Massadegh was going to nationalize British Oil, The "Sha" of Iran inserted the SAVAK-his version of the Gestapo and they'd take the lives of 100,000 citizens during the next twenty years. Now we later helped back a revolution led by The "Ayatollah" Khomeini to oust the guy we helped put into power-"The Shah of Iran" Pahlavi. Why'd we do this? Because Pahlavi became bad press. Human rights violations had tarnished is "Western Image" and also the biggest factor, Iran in 1973 a member of OAPEC had thrown in with Syria & Egypt to embargo the United States for their role in the "Yom Kippur War" by supplying Israel with technology, weapons & intelligence. Though the "Shah" Pahlavi wanted to maintain good relations with the United States he also wanted to line his pockets by siding with the other OAPEC countries). Phew! Long story huh? (Quoting Ray from Scream 2 "Wait Der's More!"). We didn't "OFFICIALLY" or publically back Khomeini but we turned a cold shoulder to Pahlavi when he asked us for help and Oh, we sent 177 CIA operatives in to train the revolutionaries on how to oust the disgraced Shah. Also, 192M in weapons was pumped into the revolution by The United States through the CIA. [saddam Hussein, you remember him right? You know the bloody dictator who kept three U.S. Presidents busy. Well he was our pal too, though we didn't position him into power, WE pumped over 3 billion into his efforts to beef up his military so as to thwart Iran if they invaded(Er, also invade them) which was the popular style of thinking. Yes we backed Saddam to keep Iran in line and to make sure that if either side won or lost, we'd be there to bath in that black sludge. Here's what happened, Saddam beefed up his military forces and attacked Iran-Which began a bloody eight year war and kept oil prices at a comfortable price for Americans because both sides had to finance their war efforts. With Iran paying in oil and Iraq paying in causing Iran to pay with oil it was a lovely balet for the better part of a decade. Until.... The Mad Man they turned to(No, Not Osama) that's a different but sort'a interrelated story) turned on them and the other "Mad Man" Khomeini figured out that the United States had used Saddam to use his army to attack Iran so as to get the oil so they could pay for their costly war, and the "Man Man" went mad. He started hiking the prices by limiting the amount of Western oil companies allowed to drill in Iran as well as limiting the amount of barrels he would release on the market, thus causing a global spike of all market towards the red. But, alas our savior came to the rescue. Nevermind, false alarm he too went mad of course I'm talking about our pal Saddam. He attacks Kuwait for oil, but Kuwait is our pal who has let us pump their sand dunes for darn near a century so we can't let this happen. Also, finding a Arab country with oil that is loyal to capitalism is quite rare so WE stepped in again and pissed of yet another Man Man we helped tighten his reigns of power. So this game of chess(board is typically black and a tan-ish sandy color, interesting...)Okay, let's wrap this up. Pahlavi we used to keep things Kosher in Iran until Khomeini came in and gave us a better price on oil. We had been lauding Bin Laden because he was fighting the Commie's for us, until he too went mad because we pulled out of Afghanistan without keeping our promises quicker than a teenage dad on prom night, did I mention we funded and trained him to commit acts of terrorism on the Russian's? We sided with Saddam until he crossed the Saudi's because he couldn't wait to geto Kuwait's oil, Saddam versus Bush part one, Saddam versus Bush part Deux of duh. Also, throw in 9/11 and the on going conflicts that drain our County of 392B per year. The stock market fell several times, once because of terrorism and the other because the deregulation of Wall Street was allowed to happen, even though EVERY sane economist warned heavily against it due to a possible meltdown in housing, credit swap, CDO's & stock derivatives(betting against the success of group CDO's and mortgage holdings). This mass chaos is the way it is because we made it that way, we encouraged these tyrants and we encouraged these banks to build without caution. Now we cannot sell our homes without taking 100+K losses on average, social security won't be there for citizens come 2036 and we've fallen behind China in education and finance. It's bleak, it's so very bleak and it happens without "us" really knowing. We watched as our righted wrong became the wrong to reright history, we're standing at the gates of an Nation no different than England, Spain, France, Rome, Greece or Egypt before her. The gates are decaying and we are lost in translation, right now we have the chance to turn the tide and maybe buy our selves, our system, our way of life another 300 years by ending the game of tic-tac-toe we thought was chess. To stop creating mad man to position ourselves "strategically", to stop turning a blind eye to a people deserving of the same rights all mankind is and to stop the hounds from feasting on the ruins as they had with the "Ancient World". No, I don't have any fantasies of this experiment lasting forever, I know that one day someone will stand at our ruins and shake their head and say they were so close and they let it slip away, wasteful arrogant and ignorant American's. For now though we can try to right a wrong, establish a Palestinian State same as we did for Israel, and perhaps by doing so we can curb the enthusiasm of these mad men. By working with the "Arab World" rather than against them, we can achieve true peace and prosperity. Start there and let's see where we end up. Tic-Tac-Toe, a game that cannot be won or lost mathematically. According to definition, continuing to play is an act of insanity. Terrorists, are the result of radical and desperate people. They turn to ideas, concepts and people they don't fully understand. Terrorism is the act of desperation. (I hope someone heard Michael Caines voice somewhere in there) Peace, a concept that can only come to fruition through compassion for ALL peoples and for ALL cultures. And that's all I have to say about that.
  19. So he doesn't rate higher than four Quarterbacks who might not be starting this coming season? Ryan, is a good quartback and considering this will be his first season coming in as the starter and his first season returning with the previous seasons playbook he could very well be climbing that chart. I'm sure I'm going to get mocked for this but he IS the 2nd best Quarterback in the AFC East(Tom Brady is the 1st naturally), he has great intangibles, his arm is just a shade lighter then Peyton's and he's tough. Those are qualities you desire in a quarterback, have some faith I mean afterall we gave Edwards three years didn't we?
  20. Has anyone else noticed that "DC Tom" & "Ieatcrayonz" share similar patterns in their writing tone? Me thinks the air grew denser.
  21. All jabs aside, I posted thread to get intelligent feedback on the State of OUR Nation and to discuss the WORLD factually not based upon an uninformed, uneducated opinion that ends with "We Rock" or "We're #1". If that's not something you're interested in then I'm sure that you'll find plenty of bed fellows in the Kid's section. Schmuck? It's funny how telling the truth stirs that comment upon from the obviously ignorant. As I said before, if you're going to participate in this, do so intellectually and without malice of opinion. Thanks. It's interesting how typing changes the tone a person uses to communicate, if I were in an earshot of that comment in society you'd expect a confrontation but since it's in the context of cyberspace it's funny? Grow up. You're the sort of person who has ruined this nation with ignorance and sloth. Also, a THOUGHT is defined in this context as an opinion on the subject matter and not an opinion on the author.
  22. Because I pointed out the obvious or because you, the ultimate authority on normalcy says so? I like how you replied without referencing the topic tone whatsoever. "DC Tom", you wouldn't happen to be a Senator would ya?
  23. Peace, Love and Soul.
