Due to all the injuries, the Packers have been forced to play younger guys who answered the call. General manager Ted Thompson loves the draft and is good at unearthing gems. He will continue to stockpile young talent, but at the same time, the Packers are also willing to admit a mistake. They will not allow a guy to stick around because of draft status. Most importantly, the Packers never seem to draft on need. They draft based on their board, which allows them to stay young and deep.
Did they really need a wideout when they took Jordy Nelson at the top of the second round in 2008? Probably not, but Thompson understands talent and value, so he picked Nelson. Equating value is the most critical aspect of the draft, and Thompson is great in that regard.
Most teams believe they set their board based on value, but they actually rig their board to have the value meet their needs. In essence, they lie to themselves, which starts to decay the roster. Packers fans do not have to worry about this because Thompson and his staff know value.

I love the approach the packers take to the war room,i think that is the way Nix has been going as well.

I think that is how Nix approaches the draft,and im a fan of that.If the bills would of had that approach with former GM's we would not of drafted maybin or lynch...instead it might of looked like Cushing and Revis...who knows?

he can talk to anybody and everybody,it will all come down to money..and that is something the bills dont spend alot of...

Posz is a great linebacker,most of his tackles he has to fight threw blocking o-linemen,once our d-line becomes upgraded and can keep blockers off posz ,he will really blossom..get him locked up....

How long does it take to rebuild?Didnt we go threw with this 10 years ago?Fire Modrak already,Al Davis can draft better.

He is just a darker version of Kirk Chambers.should of been brought in as a back up -depth player only.Merideth should be starting....hands down.

What pisses me off about the whole situation is in the off season this whole mess could of been fixed,remember buddy nix saying ,its hard to evaluate the QB,s when they are lying on there backs.He didnt do anything to fix the problem,not in the draft or free agent fix.Cornel green would be a quality back up-depth player,not starter,as well as wang.

the highest 1st round pick to sign is Dez Bryant at 15 spots after Spiller was selected...it will be awhile before Spiller is signed.

Bring him in to camp and if he out plays hangartner then sign him ,if not releases him,...simple as that.

I think you may be right,we really dont know what to expect this year from this team.New defensive sceem,coaching and players.Maybe this is the making of a playoff team.Time will tell,but we have to have a winning record in our division first before we can even think about playoffs,and are we going to be able to finally beat the Pats?

i hope they trade up and draft Campbell before he is gone.Atleast our defensive line has depth,now do something about the oline!!!!

Campbell would be a steal at this point...before draft started he was rated to go in the first.

I really dont think Clausen is in the Bills top 10..im thinking they will goe after Tebow if he is there in the 2nd.If the 1st round LT isnt there when the Bills are on the clock,maybe a trade down or spiller.Nix said he wont reach for a position of need and would take the best available player on the board.

Lynch wants out ,and jackson is closing in on 30...RB may become a need sooner than later.I believe they wont pick one at 9...maybe 3rd or 4th.

Agree 100%...maybee if the bills starting doing that 11 years ago we might of seen some playoff football in that span..
