  1. I was just wondering for the people who have traveled to different cities to watch NFL games.... I was just wondering if anybody can name a stadium worse than the Ralph..The reason why I say that is because I keep hearing that RWS is the worst..the only one I could think of was Mcaffe Coliseum in Oakland.... Does anybody have anything else.

Um read this column by bill simmons and then tell me the ralph sucks. it's everything football stadiums should be. It is becoming the Lambeau field of the AFC. that and arrowhead still maintain home field advantage:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story.../partone/081121

  2. Ralph is older than water and needs to protect his legacy. I have 0 faith in him making it past this season, seriously. This highest bidder stuff concerns me.

If this team moves after Ralph's death, I will personally dig his azz up and rebury him in love canal for a lifetime of festering iindignity. If any of you think I am joking, you don't know me.

F that. lets send it off the north shore of GI and down the falls....

  3. MAYBIN

    Height: 6'4

    Weight: 250

    40 time: 4.89

    Vertical Leap: 38 inch

Bench Press: 22 reps of 225 pounds

    Overall Draft Pick: 11th overall

    FREENEY

    Height: 6'1

    Weight: 266 lbs

    40 time: 4.48

    Vertical Leap: 37 inch

Bench Press: 28 reps of 225 pounds

    Overall Draft Pick: 11th overall

Can he be the next Freeney?!

Not likely. 1, he isn't playing on turf all year. but 2nd, he is taller and skinnier and significantly slower/weaker. think of him more like a slower jason taylor than dwight freeny.

  4. Agreed, a great time was had by all. I'd say the Bills were much better represented this year than last, at least on Day 2. I don't recall seeing nearly as much Bills gear last year. And there was a pretty big yell when they announced the Bills were on the clock in either the 6th or 7th round.

I'd say the #1 highlight of the two days was when the D-bag Bears/Miami Hurricanes fan who was starting yelling matches all day got thrown out midway through Round 7. Especially since that means he's now permanently lost his diehard status!

I wish i would have broguht the 64/65 AFL championship flag I had above my bed. Granted, my 6'6 seahawk friend would have had to hold it wiht me, but it wouldh ave been better than the McGahee guy...

  5. Your OL evaluations are a reach, Vet. Bell MAY be ready, we don't know that yet, Chambers, so, so, Butler has OT experience and good size for the position and very well may be ready to play the position, and Walker... maybe we'll soon find out, eh?

levi jones would be a great pick and would allow us to have unheard of O-Line depth for this team. I'd feel really, really good about our o-line with him because it gives Bell, Levitre, etc time to develop. We more importantly need a LB. I don't know how this Nic Harris is that we got. HE is 4.78 40, at 6'3, 235. So he is bigger than Ellison and hopefully a little faster. But I am still not thrilled. Guess we will see...

  6. I never said I was....but, logic says if you have a glaring need, which I would argue the Bills do at tackle, you do things to increase the probability that you address that need.

The Bills lost 60% of their starting O-line. They drafted a center/guard, and another guard. If they don't address their LT in FA, they are counting on either Bell or Walker for that position. I think that is risky....and you don't need to be a pro scout to figure that out.

apparently you missed the fact that by drafting 2 guards we can now move 2 of our former "guards" to RT or LT. Chambers is solid at ether tackle, and Butler is big and strong enough to run behind at RT. I don't think it will come to that though. the line is most likely this:

    LT - Walker

    LG - Butler

    C - Hangartner

    RG - Wood

    RT - Chambers

that is not a BAD o-line. So yes, we improved it without reaching for a tackle which is what you wanted. Wood is a very, very good player that a lot of teams wanted and better than the tackles you mentioned. I am thrilled about him. I also like Levitre because he has the size to be another good OG/OL and was ranked as the highest guard in the draft. Again, the top guard or the 6th best OT? take the best at his position in a case like this. It's exactly waht the bills HAVEN'T been doing.

I hate that we took 2 more DBs late, but whatever - if there is one thing this team does well, its develop corners. Think about it, when was the lat time we missed on a CB? the Chris Watson trade with denver? A lot of DBs are necessary when playing the pats, and at least we have a good top 4 in McGee, Leodis, YoBootie and Florence. Corner and one of these shmucks will round that out well.

  7. Trent has every opportunity to flourish this season.

thats not exactly true. He still is playing behind a suspect O-line. think of this line as the NY Jets front line when they drafted mangold and ferguson 3 years ago. It's going to take time for the rookies to step up and we need to see still how langston hold up long term at LT. I am less concerned about Chambers at RT, he has the size for the position. lets just realize trent still needs time to throw to all these suddenly awesome weapons he has.

  8. Found this on nfl.com...

    "Thomas George, NFL.com

When we talk impact guys, I mean guys that can come in, find a role, produce in it and increase it as the season moves forward. And four player in particular in the second round fit that bill for me. Robiskie in Cleveland gives the Browns sure hands and playmaking at receiver. He will be a gift for Quinn or Anderson, whiever one wins the starting job. Byrd as a corner in Buffalo will produce. The son of a former NFL star, I had the pleasure of visting with him in a personal setting prior to the draft and left impressed with his approach and maturity. On the field, a natural talent. Pat White in Miami will be a fun player to watch inside and on the edges. And LeSean McCoy in Philadelphia is a new toy for both coach Andy Reid and quarterback Donovan McNabb. "

I like impact players, escpecially if he can play FS!!!

Byrd will be a very solid FS for us. I have a few friends with ESPN who are from the Washington State and they say this guy is great. The Ed Reed comparison is obviously premature but he has a knack for hte ball which is exactly what we just lost with Greer. It will be a better move than Ko Simpson at FS. Whitner is not a turnover machine, nor should he be expected to be. He is a strong run supporter and a guy that can hang with RB's and smaller TE's that break out of the back field. thats where he excels. putting a guy with good ball instincts (anyone remember mark kelso?) along side whitner is a great move. I suspect Ko gets cut soon...

i hate to say it, but Brandon might be doing some good work as GM, at least i am more impressed than I have been in a few years...

  9. Not saying their interior OL has been good. Just saying it was addressed with Hangartner and Mckinney in Free agency and Wood in the draft. I like all of these moves but just think that we should have address OT before taking another guard (Levitre)

um dude news flash. mckinney is a depth pick. new starting o line is this:

    LT - Walker

    LG - Butler

    C - Wood/Hangarner?

    RG - Hangartner/Levitre?

    RT - Chambers

this is actually a solid, solid O-line. I think Langston is more than serviceable at LT. Butler is a solid LG, Either of those guys is good at center or RG and CHambers was a very solid RT. All in all, the bills improved their O-line without reaching for a tackle. not to mention, we may have stole a terrific FS. I hate to admit it, but i think Brandon is flashing some football knowledge here. mildly impressed...

  10. Our 2 biggest glaring needs are at OT and DE. I don't think we should reach for an offensive tackle at 11, especially if the top tier is gone. In addition, there are a lot of articles stating that this tackle group isn't all that great to begin with. I still think we need to go DE with 11. Either Brown, Orakpo, Ayers or Maybin. The problem with the 28, is that I think the Bills truly are alright with Walker at LT. I'm not sure if this is a smokescreen or not, but I seem to believe it. A great blocking TE would help the LT and RT and Pettigrew fits the Bill. All the mock drafts I have seen, unless they have us picking him, has him going to Philly with the 21 or Atlanta at 24. We should have DEMANDED the 21st pick. Getting a top flight DE and then getting the best TE in the draft would have been great. We could then use our 2nd round pick on a guy like Unger or Wood, and a 3rd on McKenzie or another backer. I just think the 21st pick would have worked out so well to our advantage, and we have too many needs to trade up to get Pettigrew if we don't take him at 11

read what Peter king says about lower 1st round picks. this is why it was smart for us to do it, and it follows with the patriots in that regard as well.

"I think it's hard not to love the Patriots being positioned the way they are -- at overall slots 23, 34, 47 and 58 -- on day one. Increasingly over the years, the value of low first-round picks, and all the picks in the second round, has grown. Someday I've got to study the true impact of the second round versus the first, because as Chicago GM Jerry Angelo told me recently, the value of first-rounders has decreased in his eyes because you can't tell how players will change when they get a boatload of money at age 21 or 22."

  11. Just curious if anyone is planning on waiting in line tomorrow to get tickets and go to the event. I'll be there in a Trent Throwback along with the biggest seahwaks fan (literally, he is 6'6) ever. Just getting a gauge on whether I'll be the only one booing our first pick (who, hopefully won't be pettigrew or a reach for a DB).

  12. So I'm getting pretty comfortable saying that there will likely be a mini DE run starting with Buffalo, in which you'll see E. Brown, T. Jackson, and B. Orakpo all go in the next 3 picks to Buffalo, Denver, and Washington (respectively).

Modrak has already 'dissed' past FSU DE's from other drafts that have not cut it in the NFL. I don't think Everette Brown is even on the Bills' radar. Orakpo is a more logical pick, though knowing these guys, they probably have a bone for any PSU linebacker/DE. I'd think Maybe before Brown in their eyes.

  13. Why is everyone eager to waste a #11 on a LT? We molded an undrafted Peters into a Pro Bowler. You don't see any elite undrafted pass rushers. We need to use the #11 for a DE or OLB, which are much bigger needs. Peters gave up the most sacks in the league last year at 11.5. Whoever plays LT can't do worse than last, right?

Oher has been described as "soft" and "has motivation issues".

    Sounds like Mike Williams Jr.

    PASS RUSHER PLEASE!

"You don't see any elite undrafted pass rushers."

    two words:

    james harrison

do your homework bud...made steelers as undrafted rookie free agent

    http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HarrJa23.htm

OT is far more pressing for this team than DE, unless we plan on not utilizing our WR corps and getting Trent killed and hoping that one DE makes us a top 10 defense...

  14. Typical "friend of a friend heard from so-and-so" thing, so take it with a full sized helping of salt:

Friend of a friend was speaking to the father of someone involved with the Bills. The person stated that T.O.'s contract contains a provision wherein he will receive a million dollar bonus if he gets less than 90 catches. I challenged this saying "you or this guy probably misunderstood and it's a bonus for 90 or more catches, not less" and he replied that he was certain this is what he was told.

Have any of you ever seen a contract that paid a bonus if the team didn't get you enough carries, catches, snaps, etc? Sounds like total BS to me, or at least a complete misunderstanding, as I would almost expect there is a bonus for him to have 90 or more.

    obviously more, not less..

  15. Anyone feel that the Bills will either draft a player not expected to be taken at that point(#28 or #42) or even worse draft a player at a position which is not considered a "need".

If so, what is your worst nightmare in terms of this.

    worst scenario?

we draft a WR, RB and a CB/Saftey.....

in reality we probably reach on a DB of some sort - maybe malcom jenkins to play saftey with whitner? i see DJ screwing it up and doing that.

  16. Let's see how badly the Bills get fleeced on this trade---Philly already fleeced them pretty good by the Bills inexplicably allowing them to give them their 28th pick in the 1st round instead of their 21st...

Anything less than a 3rd rounder and I think the Bills got fleeced again---punt returners like Parrish that force teams to literally change the way they punt to you don't just grow on trees. When a team forces their punter to either kick very high and short, kick low so it rolls on the ground, or force him to kick out of bounds to avoid Parrish returning the punt, you automatically are gaining more field position on top of what he provides to you on the returns....players that cause that type of fear in other teams just don't grow on trees, and for the Bills to basically be looking to give him away for a 5th rounder, if those reports are true, just shows how clueless they are...

    "fleeced" ?

you are another uneducated blogger. the difference in talent between 21 and 28 is almost nothing. the difference in contracts is significant. Why do you think NE took ONLY a low, low 2nd rounder for Cassell when they could have got a 1st? because the talent varies so little in that area but the money is SIGNIFICANTLY different. take the 28 pick and save more cash to extend guys like stroud and jackson. thats what the best teams in the league have been doing for awhile...

and EVERYONE on this board keeps forgetting we have a GREAT returner instead of roscoe when we trade him. Leodis is phenomenal and McGee is pretty good too if you remember.... stop thinking we are giving him away when we are getting something in return, something we need, which is hopefully more talented linemen. now if we only had a front office that could evaluate football talent to utilize those draft picks...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBZppozX2WE

  17. Yeah, ALL of those teams are interested in this TERRIBLE WR according to posters on this board. I still do not understand why so many people on this board are HAPPY to give Parrish away for a low round pick. He is worth KEEPING for his return skills alone.

when will you understand we have 2 returners as good or better than roscoe? Leodis was THE top returner in all of college ball. why would you hold onto someone you are paying multi millions to when you can get a 4th round pick and use that money towards someone else that can contribute? say throwing it to fred jackson instead? wouldn't you rather give Roscoe's money to Fast Freddie AND still have the top returner on this team (mckelvin) back there?

stop looking at roscoe for more than he is - he is donte hall and he will fade away just like dante hall did. he just doesn;t have the size to do anything BUT return punts and kick offs, even though he is phenomenal at that. i love the guy, but with the bills being a small market, you trim from an area of access and you get what you can for him since he is expendable.

  18. I can't speak for everyone who's friends with Whitner on Facebook, but personally I think it's pretty cool that a guy in the lime light makes him accessible to fans. Of course, there will be idiots who abuse this privilege, and lately Donte's Facebook Wall looks a lot like some of the negative, hate mongering, bash fests you'd see here at TSW. The difference? Anonymity. Turns out you can be a jack a$$ on the Stadium Wall and few people--if any--will know your true identity. I play this card all the time. :pirate:

Well, evidently there are a lot of whiny sports fans who take out their grievances publicly and directly to whom THEY believe to be the source of their ongoing frustration with The Bills. HA! There a lot of a-holes doing this, but today I was struck by a submission from one Christopher Capolupo.

This Christopher Capolupo must be a pretty important guy to assume high status, online, over a guy who's probably accomplished more things and already made more money in just three years than Christopher Capolupo will make in his entire lifetime.

Christopher Capolupo is by no means the only person who behaves this way, but poking around the intenets this morning, I found his latest gem be particularly pompous.

    You decide:

Now, I read this and I ask "why?" Why did Christopher Capolupo feel the urge to write this? Why did Christopher Capolupo take the time to write this? What did Christopher Capolupo hope to gain? Is it because Christopher Capolupo was bad at sports growing up? Me thinks yes. Is it because he has a tiny weenie? Methinks yes. Is it because he's an embittered putz who doesn't have any real friends (or at least any one in his life that respects him) and he tries to mask his insecurity and distort other people's perception of him by posting what he believes to be a real zinging scather on a Facebook wall? Again, me thinks yes.

    Christopher Capolupo: boo this man!

    <_<BOOOOOO!

I went to high school wiht a guy with that name... any chance he is from GI?

  19. I would be giddy to see this team get out from under the huge contract they gave that wacky waiving inflatable arm flailing tube man. If we could trade him for a bag of popcorn I'd be psyched!

for all the crap we give kelsay... Scouts Inc seems to think he is a solid player.

Comment: Kelsay is a five-year veteran that has been extremely consistent and durable defender for the Bills. He has average size, good athleticism and plays with a high motor. He is a tough, competitive player who is a sound technician. He has great initial quickness to close ground and get into blockers early in the play. He reads and reacts quickly as well as using his hands effectively to maintain leverage in his gap responsibility. He anticipates well and can gain an advantage as a pass-rusher on long-yardage situations. Kelsay isn't a powerful player, but he has enough strength and uses effective pad level to anchor well versus the run. He is a fluid athlete who uses excellent lateral quickness and agility to chase down plays from the backside. He runs well and shows good range to stay active to the pile. He has a variety of pass-rush moves and counters, but he doesn't reset well if engaged early in the play. He is more of a finesse player than a power defender who is best when on the move. Kelsay continues to be a productive player with effort, instincts, technique and quickness.

  20. Bills trade Parrish or the pick we get from him and a draft pick next year for Tony Sheffler TE

    1a Michael Oher OG/OT

    1b Peria Jerry DT

    2. Jarron Gilbert DE/DT

    3. Lawrence Sidbury DE

    4. Mike Thomas WR/PR

    4. T.J. Lang OG

    5. Zack Follett LB

    6. Anthony Hill TE

    7. Joel Bell OT

I guarantee we take a DB in the late first or early 2nd. this is a bills draft cmon, they do nothing that is rational or makes sense... if history proves correct it will be a reach for a TE, then trade up for an OSU d-back, and then take some mid round lineman and linebackers. hate to be depressing, its just how this teams history has been. Unless Brandon has the balls to actually draft the best available at need positions...

why the F have we not signed Jackson when we just gave rhodes 2 years? someone tell me what the hell they are thinking about...

  21. if parrish was on the patriots he would be just as good as wes welker. the problem is jauron, ralph, his daughter, russ, tom

WHAT?! are u crazy? HE is no where NEAR as good as welker. much smaller, and can not handle playing in the slot with LBs that size like Welker. he is a punt return, ala dante hall. we have 2 more of those - McGee and Leodis. Trade from a position of strength...

  22. Does anyone know this to be true, or is this just speculative?

Do you think anybody on the face of this Earth, who is the slightest bit interested in football, would rather take a 4th rounder over a 3rd? Because I don't.

Either 1.) This report is untrue, or 2.) There is some other trade/move that is going to happen.

now you are thinking... you only add 6th rounders for trade bait, be that this year or next. people say its stupid, but they probably said the same thing when we traded Takeo, Holcomb and Willis for a 5 and 3... oh so stupid just draft picks. except you package those picks for players ie : Marcus Stroud. So stop bashing on the front office everyone. You always add more picks if you can especially if you have the intent to package them for a player or a move up in the draft.
