  1. Good points. But they're not true. Bree's would have been a sure fire top 15 pick if he were 2 inches taller. And I don't remember Rogers being a project. He was a guy that slid. And I did say never. Hyperbole. I use it and it's not a crime.
  2. John, buddy, think about what you're saying. I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say cause it doesn't really make sense. Basically you're validating EJs selection because of Rogers. Rogers slid big tiiiime. Then what you're saying is because Kolb got injured I have to grant excess patience to EJ. No. And that doesn't make sense. I don't care about the 'master plan'. Then you're missing the biggest point. It's do or die for the Doug's. They don't want to get fired. EJ looks like a bust. Everybody thinks so except for a faction of Bills fans. But to everybody else EJ is a joke. And they're right. Being that the the Doug's have to win NOW who's their best shot at survival? EJ or Orton? What would you do if you were them? Would you risk your career on EJs shoulders? I doubt it. And yeah, I've seen enough to know the guy doesn't have it. EJ is what he was on Sunday. He'll have a great play like that dance party he had escaping pressure before his pass to Chandler. Then he's the guy who throws out of bounds from the end zone... That's what he is. Inconsistent.
  3. GMs that draft project QBs that are regarded as mid round talent in the first round get fired. You DONT do it. If you want to insist upon it's sound reason then that says all sorts of things about you. John, I get it. I want our QB woes to be over too. But they're not!
  4. Unless he improves quickly I see Orton starting sooner rather than later. If the Dougs don't make the playoffs then they're done. Pegula will want to bring in his own guys anyways...the Dougs are literally on the hot seat. There's no time to 'develop' a QB...They HAVE to win now.
  5. Ok...not to be rude but I quit reading after you started out the way you did. You can't validate EJ by tearing down the accomplishments of first round QBs preceding him. Moving on, we'd all be on the EJ bandwagon if he showed as much as Andy Dalton did his rookie year but I suppose you'll say I'm being unreasonable there too. And to the 'EJ was a project' bs...you DONT draft projects in the first round. Never.
  6. I disagree. Cam Newton did. Andrew Luck did. RGIII did. In the past 10 years we've seen QBs do it. We've also seen some like Roethlisberger take time to develop with a solid team around them. But Roethlisberger showed promise in ways EJ hasn't.
  7. On that one, toche! But again, I'm not wallowing in our not drafting Geno...but between the two I see Geno as a guy who tries to win and EJ as a guy who tries to not lose. I believe that the first couple wins are a result of talent. So we played a combination of good special teams, defense, and offense. The thing is we had an element of surprise...teams the Bears and Dolphins weren't sure how we'd use Sammy... They played cautious, it cost them. Now certainly EJ played good enough for us to win those two games -- but I see teams playing 8 in the box from here on out till EJ can take a game over -- and it's my opinion that EJ can't take a game over.
  8. I'm not pounding the table stating that Geno is far and away better than EJ, though I do believe there is a case to be made that Geno is better...what Im saying is that if we're gonna have a bad QB I prefer one that at least attempts to win...not one that throws a safety from his endzone to avoid getting hit.
  9. We're 3 games into the season...Anderson had a good game and that's why he is where he is. If you look at previous years this tool is pretty accurate. No, it means we should switch to Orton...
  10. So you speak for everyone now?! Congratulations. That's an awesome responsibility. Haha I really just looked into the QBR thing... It's not perfect but it's a lot better than what we had. One of the things it tells if you go back is that Orton is a solid middle of the pack QB...and it shows EJ is just awful... To me, I firmly believe that Orton could get this team to 9-10 wins and we need to win this year.
  11. I would love to see EJ throw a pass that makes him worthy to be Cam Newtons water boy.
  12. It's funny you should mention Geno because while he is very much unproven and seemingly more likely to throw a game away I prefer his style to EJs. EJ is the 'I'm gonna try to not lose the game' guy whereas Geno is the 'everything be damned, I'm gonna try and win' kind of guy.
  13. We disagree. You don't like my point...and so I'm a "dumbass"? Clever one you are. First, as one who doesn't put great emphasis on stats I'm not apt to look up stats from two decades ago. Second, Fred is currently leading in receptions..what I said is that he's second in total receiving yards. Learn to discuss with others politely I recommend. There's no need for all that. And it's also cowardly. Calling a man a dumbass is something that seems to only happen on the internet. I've never been called that when discussing sports in person. Why must everyone take such offense to disagreements on the interenet? You're ridiculous.
  14. Don't get over analytical about a couple posts. 'Sides, we've already been through this. I did misspeak. I care not for stats but a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis with preference leaning towards qualitative. It truly is out of control there. I still skim it occasionally. Anybody who dares question the sanctity of #3 is chastised and public ally ridiculed. And if they get a little vocal they get banned. I'm much happier here in a place where thinking is criticized.
  15. Not believing in EJ doesn't make somebody a bad person or a bad fan. And I was banned for the phrase "EJ apologist" that I directed to nobody. WYO is out of control.
  16. Dude, really? And did Thurman ever lead in receptions during a season? That bad? Wow. Hadn't seen those stats. I don't get why people see potnential in EJ.
  17. My point is that I believe, and I have many reasons to believe, that an UDFA is out playing our 1st QB. That's an issue. And it's not just me -- they're are fans from different teams who think Davis might be special and I cant think of any, outside of a few in Buffalo, that feel EJ could be a quality starter. FRED JACKSON IS OUR 2ND LEADING RECEIVER! Let that sink in... One of our RBs is our 2nd leading receivers. That must mean that we don't have good receivers...but we do. And if it weren't for Sammy's YACs last week then Fred would certainly be our leading receiver. My good people, EJ is a really nice guy...but he's not a good QB and he'll never be a good QB. Again, that's just my opinion but I've ample reasons for thinking so. Also, and I could be wrong because this was just with a quick glance, I believe we're the only team in the NFL who's leaking pass catcher in terms of receptions is a RB...
  18. Points valid... But could you argue the Bills would be 2-1 if Davis were our starting QB? I think so.
  19. Riddle me this... EJ Manuel has 12 plays of over 20 yards tying him for 4th in the League but he's at the bottom when it comes to yards per attempt... How? Why? The only answer I can come up with is check downs and being inaccurate. My eyes tell me that and I think those stats do as well.
  20. He has more yds than EJ. He has more yds per attempt. He has less experience. He is outperforming EJ and he shouldn't be. EJ is a 1st round pick, Davis is a UDFA... And as for the first game, he was a back up who had to come in on almost no reps during the week... He's impressing and EJ isn't, Ive seen the Giants stumble out of the gate and win the super bowl. I don't know they're a bad team.
  21. I honestly gave up on EJ last year... I think the Dougs can sustain another bad EJ performance but not two more in a row...that'll be time to close the curtain. And by the way, that Fitz guy who sucked so bad that we had to get rid of him..he has 12 less attempts, 21 more yards, and 1 more TD. Not Herculean, but still more...
  22. Doesn't change the fact that Davis is making plays and playing better than EJ.
  23. Exactly. Who?! Who is an undrafted FA QB and he's handily outplaying EJ.
