  1. Dan Reeves and Bill Cowher both raved about Gailey as a coach...I guess you could do a lot worse than to have those two guys decidedly in your corner...thats a lot of wins between them...

Reeves also said Tommy Maddox would be a HOF QB

  2. Chan Gailey is an outstanding hire.

Marty ball (my choice) , but Gailey is a much better O.C. than Brian S.

Cowher- his teams were loaded with talent, he blew lots of games.

Shanahan- most "dead money" in NFL 2009 ( + $29 mil)

    Frazier- Tampon 2 defense....no thanks.

    Fewell- Tampon 2

Grimm, Harbaugh, Brian Schotty, Rivera.....NO EXPERIENCE.

Why did nobody in the league or the media have him on their short lists if he's that outstanding?

those NO Experience coordinatrs inspire the sh-t out of their players, get productions and get the fans excited...look at fatty on the Jets....hes a freaking party on whels....I hate the Jets but I live in NYC and he even got the Giants fans all riled up about football. Coughlin is a SB winner and looks like death with a headset compared to the fat jolly guy.

I cannot say that about Gregg Williams, Mularkey, Wade, DJ.....and of course CHAN...they looked conservative and lame from the get-go

The Bills needed someone with a freaking fire in his belly...AND THE TALENT TO MATCH...every coordiantor you mentioned, and Cowher....match that profile...

  3. as fans, the front office owes you a game to go watch at the Ralph. PERIOD. Ralph does not owe you any explanations, a say in management or player hires/fires. Or anything else. If you don't like what they do, don't buy tickets. That's the only !@#$ing thing you have a say in. Get over this "they owe us something" bull **** already.

OK guy, that's EXACTLY why you get mediocrity....you accept it.

  4. This organization once again faced with choices to demonstrate to the NFL and their fans a new commitment to winning....

pulled a move that looks completely the same as all the other ones that have not worked out

Did Nix try to get the sexier choices in here and run into Ralphs brick wall?

Again, THERE ARE ONLY 32 OF THESE JOBS IN EXISTENCE...AND ONLY 1 OPENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    need I repeat that?

One chance to coach an NFL team and prove you belong with the elite in your profession....a high draft pick, a lot of talent on your team....cap room, fan base behind the idea of aggressive change....youc ould come in hhere and be as creative as you would like....

as fans, the front office owes you the REAL story of what happened before they mail you the bill for your seasons tix.

Who did we go after, why did they refuse or why did we not make a move??

WHY WAS CHAN GAILEY OUR CHOICE?

Obviously, the best candidate wasnt the criteria nor was the idea of change.....

more of the same....its sad and I feel for the WNY faithful....my heart is with you guys.

  5. Buddy, its a nice thing you're doing to try and get to teh positives

    BUT

This type of complacency perpetuates the status quo

the status quo is what everyone is pissed-off over

It's in the fans hands to make this choice HURT...

Prob not going to happen when M Vick is signed.

  6. You act like Gailey has been out of the NFL for 10 years. He missed this last season. And what does it mean that he wasn't on anyone's radar? Spots reporters are like parrots repeating what they hear from each other. They didn't talk about Pete Carrol until the day he was hired. All that means is the parrots were too lazy.

    PTR

Yeah youre right, the entire league and all of the writers don't know anything about HC candidates.

Ray Handley was a misunderstood man

  7. well thats better that what we've had for the past 10 years

    only breaking .500 once

hovering in the bottom-middle of the league

and not being IN the playoffs

    yea... he really sucks :w00t:

just because he isnt the biggest name that was thrown at the wall by the "ANALysts" doesnt mean he cant at least do SOMETHING with this team

    more justification of mediocrity

correct me if I am wrong, fans dont want the choice thats going to do SOMETHING....

  8. The organization has failed the faithful yet again....you get the ass end of Ralph.....AGAIN

All Cowher, Billick, Shanny and all of the top tier had to do was call TD, GW, MM or anyone in their networks....and get the lowdown....which is....

THE BILLS ARE NOT COMMITTED TO WINNING....their 90+ y.o. meddlesome, CHEAP, tinkering owner that doesn't even live in Buffalo has poisoned his own franchise to the point where there are 32 of these jobs in the world, and ONE opening..

and not one of the league list of top candidates has jumped to be named HC...the highest job in their profession....no takers

It's a small league, guys move around....know each other, communicate etc....

If you pair that situation with the climate and a dilapidated facility

    you get your answer.

So sad that thsi is the case.

  9. DUDE Aikman was a concussed mess at this point. you must be 16 if you don't remember. the guy had nothing left, and Gailey had the lovely job of telling him that his career was over. get a grip. its NOT Jauron. this guy has a winning record incollege and the NFL and knows offenses (see the steelers mid 90s and dolphins). he will RUN THE FOOTBALL...

    Dude its 2010

The game has changed considerably since he last held a HC position TEN YEARS AGO

Oh, and if he's such a great commodity howcome NOBODY had him on their radar including the Bills?

  10. If this is mediocrity...I would love to know what you describe as success?

    * None of his teams went below .500 and most of his teams won 10+ games

    * His teams usually hovered around the top 15 and usually ended up in the top 10

    * His teams have been very successful in the playoffs

Get a grip and give the guy a chance!

Strong arguments against being happy with mediocre my man

    attaining near .500

hovering in the top half of the league

his teams were 0-2 in the playoffs...AS THE HC

Have you not learned that success as a coordinator means absolutely nothing to these fans?!?!!?

    Postseason 0–2–0

    Career record 18–16–0 (NFL)

Troy Aikman was his QB....barely got above that .500 mark and a divison rival took him out of the playoffs...

You get a grip and put the Kool aid down.

Very sorry youre satisfied with being force fed mediocrity

This choice is a different look and feel than Jauron but in the end, it still smells like sh-t at OBD

  12. Yeah,

ummmm....you familiar with the situation here?

If I asked you before this news to list the top 100 candidates for the job....he wouldnt have made your list

stop encouraging people to accept sh-tty mediocrity, its what theyve been living on for a decade.

people here have EVERY RIGHT to ask serious questions and be completely hyper-critical

BOTTOM of the rung guys.....rock bottom.

  13. 18-16 as an NFL coach

    0-2 postseason record

get me my credit card honey, I gotta get me some seasons before they go.......Chan's going to take us to teh promised land!

Enjoy watching anotehr divisonal rival complete a rebuild (NYJ) uber successfully.

  14. Bottom rung candidate

Stop trying to spin this any other way

The man hasnt been mentioned for a HC or coordinator position in this last wave of NFL openings.

    atrocious.

Sad for the loyal ones, the ones that truly love this team....good people of WNY deserve better, you have risen to the occasion many times for this franchise...

Chan Fukng Gailey - thats going to be the one to lift the franchise out of the dumpster? wow.

  15. Assume for the sake of this thread that we do not get one of the top 3 QB's in this draft....and let's say the new HC wants an established QB (whoever that HC may be!)...Where do we go? I like Vick but may be dreaming.

    Fitz????

Maybe a veteran to bridge the gap until we find the QB of the future?

Vick? With a new HC, new system etc....T.O. does another year.....skill positions looking pretty solid and big play potential all over. The right OC is key.

Seattle in the 5-Hole is interesting....Let's say they go QB...I think Hasselbeck still has a couple of good years left in the tank as a starter. Seattle needs to rebuild...Hasselbeck needs a new environment

    FREE AGENTS

    Orton - Denver keeps him

Jason Campbell - Not sure what to make of him, not a proven commodity enough to spend $ on.

    Chad Pennington - great leader, great mind...bad arm...coming off surgery, 34 y.o.

Tarvaris Jackson - Minny will most likely retain him...no telling what Farve does with or without a SB ring. Showed a lot of potential 08/09.

Kellen Clemens - no thanks, I'll take Trent over him.

Out of the rest....the only one I would look at is Carr...could be had cheap, hungry to be a starter again and is an upgrade to what we have.

    Charlie Batch, Pittsburgh Steelers (35)

Kyle Boller, St. Louis Rams (29)

David Carr, New York Giants (31)

Brodie Croyle, Kansas City Chiefs (27)

    Daunte Culpepper, Detroit Lions (33)

    Rex Grossman, Houston Texans (30)

Joey Harrington, New Orleans Saints (31)

    Jon Kitna, Dallas Cowboys (37)

Matt Moore, Carolina Panthers (26) – Restricted FA

    Chris Redman, Atlanta Falcons (33)

Brett Ratliff, Cleveland Browns (25) – Exclusive Rights FA

Troy Smith, Baltimore Ravens (26) – Restricted FA

  16. Why do people on this board constantly propose retarded trade scenarios with Roscoe??? It's like the entire NFL is at the 1BD doorstep begging for him and ready to give their BEST player in return. Josh Cribbs....one of the more explosive players in the league....for a BUST...

Roscoe is a BUST...ridiculous talent...lots of flash...no production.....the Max Afinighenov of the Bills.

Time to get real with the topic of Roscoe.

  17. Remember a player that made a mistake or took a dumb penalty......that player had to go back to the sidelines and face the wrath of the chin in a full on jaw-lock gritting of the teeth...

I want that for the Bills man.

His players played hard for him

Nobody looked at the Steeler organization in his tenure and said that they were going in the wrong direction

The Franchise ascended with him as a coach....and he had some HUGE shoes to fill after Chuck Knoll.

They are one of the most successful franchises in sports history and he is a good part of that...

What is wrong with a little of that for the Bills??????
