  1. I understand the argument and agree that because of Western New Yorks climate it would suit the Bills to run a scheme like the 3-4 or 4-3. With that being said, none of us here really know whats going though the minds at One Bills Drive and they haven't mentioned scrapping the cover 2. Correct? I haven't heard or read any where that we are scrapping it, perhaps I'm wrong. Is it possible that the current scheme is not getting scrapped? There have been a couple of SB winning teams that have run this scheme and the talent in the NFL is watered down IMHO for the Bills to change. I really don't believe that their defense is as bad as most of the posters on this board do. Schobel is still a stud and the secondary is stacked. Maybe another dominant tackle next to Stroud and another linebacker? If this team could stay healthy and add just a little talent they could dominate. Good luck Chan you're gonna need it. GO BILLS!

Uh.. we already have a dominant tackle next to Stroud.. his name is Kyle Williams, you know our Defensive MVP!

IMO, we should keep the 4-3 unless we plan on trading Stroud.. I can't see how you let a guy like Williams go.

  2. Bills front runners for Vick???

    http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/features/rumors

If they sign him I am done. From a football sense it is a dumb move. He's awful. And don't give me that mobile QB behind a bad offensive line cr@p. He was one of the most sacked QB's in the league before he was incarcerated. From a human sense it is appalling. I can't believe that Ralph would spend his last few years on this planet and the last few years the Bills are in Buffalo being linked to and defending human garbage.

Wait, isn't prison supposed to rehabilitate the garbage out? LOL

  3. Three Things About Trent That I Know To Be True

    1. He lacks the balls to throw the football downfield.

    2. He lacks the balls to throw into tight coverage.

    3. He gets injured too often.

    1. We have a ****ty O-line and there isn't time to throw down field

    2. Better to throw it away than throw an int.

    3. See #1

  4. I was very unhappy with the way Edwards played this year.. but he was pretty good before the concussion in AZ. I went to that game and saw it live.. it was a !@#$ed up hit.. Can he shake off the concussions? I don't know.. but I'd be willing to give him one more shot to compete in the pre-season. We haven't had a solid O line in over 10 years! That is the problem and until we get in solid tackles it won't really matter much who the QB is.

  5. Last thing we need is another unproven rookie QB. I would pass on all of the QB prospects and bring in a veteran. Shoot.. we already have an unproven Brohm.. I'd give him a shot before drafting a yet another rookie. I would spend all my draft picks on OL and LB's..

  6. No QB first round. Simply amazing. So who would you bring in or try to trade for at QB for the Bills next season? What used up veteran or unproven 4th round back up would you like to see QB the Chan Gailey-led Bills??

Let me ask you a question, and to all of the rest of you who think the Bills would be wasting their #9 or at the very least "reaching too far" with their #9 by taking Bradford, Clausen, Tebow or McCoy:

If the Bills draft the big OT or DT at #9, and by the time their second round pick all four of those QB's are already off the board (and they will be in my humble opinion), so the Bills ignore the QB position and have a good draft filling other holes,.......what will you think WHEN all four of those QB's end up starting in their rookie seasons, (and I predict they all will be, in my humble opinion, in this QB starved NFL)???!!!

Flame me, call me nuts. But there simply are not enough good QB's in the NFL today. Bradford, Clausen, Tebow and McCoy will all have excellent chances to start sometime as rookies, and the Bills would be crazy not to snag one of those guys with the number 9 pick in the draft this year. I could be wrong, Tebow might still be hanging around into the 3rd round like some of the "experts" are saying, but I just don't buy it! These "experts" say that Tim Tebow is not a first or even second round pick, and this is to come into today's NFL, where you have QB's starting for 70% of the teams that cannot throw more TD's then Int's??? Tebow will get drafted in the first or second round, or the entire NFL scouting system is whacked.

Not sure how effective a QB is on his back.. like the last 10 years..

    2009 - 46 sacks

    2008 - 38 sacks

    2007 - 26 sacks

    2006 - 47 sacks

    2005 - 44 sacks

    2004 - 38 sacks

    2003 - 51 sacks

    2002 - 54 sacks

    2001 - 46 sacks

    2000 - 59 sacks

  7. That was his one good year out of 11 in the playoffs. Check it out...

    Playoff Record as Starting QB: 1999 (0-1), 2000 (0-1), 2002 (0-1), 2003 (2-1), 2004 (1-1), 2005 (0-1), 2006 (4-0), 2007 (0-1), 2008 (0-1)

So he won 7 and lost 8? Not bad for the playoffs.. It's not easy to win playoff games.. **** we can't even get to the playoffs..

  8. I think the Colts destroy the Jets. The Colts took the game off when they played the Jets.. just like when they played Buffalo. No way the Jets can come back if they get behind. If they try say hello to interceptions from their rookie QB.

The NO vs Vikes game is much harder to call.. I would like to see the Vikes go all the way. They have lost 4 Superbowls like us poor Bills fans and I think it would be cool to see Favre win a superbowl and retire properly.

  9. I think Peyton Manning is a choker type of a QB when it comes to the playoffs. The Jets are the tougher team, they have the better defense and the better running game. Colts will rue the day they let laid down to the Jets in week 16. I think the Jets beat them.

The Saints will beat the Vikings. They'll go on to beat the Jets in the Superbowl.

Hmm.. guess you weren't around in 2006/2007 when the Colts won the Superbowl?

  10. they should jsut move the chargers to LA. The majority of their fan base is located their anyways.

You obviously don't know what the hell you are talking about.. I lived in LA for 10 years and have lived in San Diego the past 20 years.. The Chargers fan base is in San Diego, PERIOD. Most people in LA are NOT Charger fans. However, this town (San Diego) is freaking nuts for the Chargers.

  11. Can people stop pointing out Trent Dilfer when saying we don't need to draft a QB? When we develop a defense that ranks in the top five of all time then that point can be made...

Did you happen to read the entire conversation or did you just see Dilfer and post a response?

  12. Think of the Ravens' offense of 2000. They had Jon Ogden at LT--one of the best OLs to ever play the game. They had an overall good to excellent OL! They had Jamal Lewis and his ridiculously high number of rushing yards.

Yet that offense went five straight games without scoring a touchdown.

A good offense isn't just about having a good OL, any more than it's just about having a good QB. You need both. The Bills have neither.

The hardest and most critical position to fill is QB. If there's a franchise QB waiting for us at #9, we should take him. If not, then we look to see if there's a LT worthy of the 9th overall pick. Choice #3 is either RT or DL. After that it might be time to start thinking about either a trade-down, a WR, a LB, or some other option. But not a DB or RB!! I mean that! :wallbash:

Obviously, if we go with a QB at #9, he's going to need better protection than we gave our QBs in 2009. That starts with a LT. We could either take one in the second round, or use our 2nd and 3rd round picks to trade back into the late first and grab one there.

No offense intended, but the Ravens also won the Superbowl in 2001 with Trent Dilfer so you point seems a little moot!

  13. I am shocked anyone wants to draft a QB in the first round.. good god people.. we can't even keep a QB upright long enough to throw a pass more than 10 yards most of the time. Can we please address the OL in the first round? I am not a Trent Edwards fan, but how good could this guy have been with a solid line in front of him? The guy is gun shy from getting crushed every damn play. Games are won in the trenches.. The OL and DL are the most important components of a winning team. We haven't had a decent O line in over 10 years! I am ok with our D line.. but we also need LB's bad!

If it were up to me I would probably spend all of my draft picks on OL and LB's!! LOL

    #1 LT

    #2 LB

    #3 RT
