It's a hot topic with the podcasting community as everyone seems to be laser focused at WR in round 1 or 2.
So, I was curious to research the hit rate of WR in 1st round vs 2nd round the past several years. The results might surprise you.
I marked "++" for plus starters each year, which I would define as a top 32 wideout. The past 2 seasons are TBD, so I started in 2021.
Totals:
11 out of 28 first round picks ended up being plus starters (39%).
6 out of 33 second round picks ended up being plus starters (18%).

So ... when you hear the talking heads describing 1st and 2nd round as both being a hot bed for WR talent historically, this is just recency bias due to a few good players coming from the 2020 and 2019 first and second round. There have been been A LOT of JAGs mixed in as well... but maybe they forgot. Hope you enjoy the analysis.
Can you do the same for WR in rounds 3-5 since 2015? Bc offhand there are some serious studs (a few being top 10 WR in the entire NFL) -

Yes, I'm still a Dobbins supporter and believer. Yes, I realize that achilles injuries are hard to come back from for football players. Yes, I wish the Bills would sign Dobbins to a cheap, incentive-laden deal.
Unless Dobbins wants big money, this seems like an obvious low-risk, high-reward move that I wish Beane would make. The Chiefs seem to be doing a lot of the low-risk, high-reward stuff lately: Araiza, the rugby star they signed once the kickoff rule changed, and now potentially Dobbins. When the financial cost isn't high, I believe that it behooves a team to take calculated risks.
Ty Johnson > Dobbins at this point in time.-

Safety is similar, Rapp and Edwards then what? Hamlin and Cam Lewis (190 lb) don't make me too confident. They will fill in to get to 90 with some bodies, they need a couple to really stand out.
This team will not have the depth they had in recent years on paper going into the season and that is OK by me since they are getting a little healthier cap wise.
You don’t know that. We lost corner after corner last season and players kept stepping up. Players who fans viewed as not being depth going into last season. Same for the LB corps.-

That's what a 25 year old WR with the *potential* to play any of the 3 receiver positions but who has still only averaged just a bit less than 800 yards and 3 TD's per season is worth on the open market.
The WR the Bills draft in round 1 could have a market value in excess of $30M in year 2 and then you at least have the option to pick up his 5th year at a set price or use it as leverage to extend his deal with some savings.
If you fnd yourself warming up to the idea of using your first round pick on a center like Jackson Powers-Johnson or a safety/CB like Cooper Dejean........just don't.
Cant the same thing be said about a WR in round 3? -

When WR like Amon Ra, Tyreek and Cooper Kupp and Nacua can be drafted in rounds 3-5, why in the world would we trade up for any WR?
Only real position worth trading up for in the current NFL is probably QB. Maybe an absolute elite beast of a pass rusher. That’s about it imho.

Unless you guys pull up references to Belichick having beef with the Davis’s and tha Raiders..? I’d love to learn about it.
I’m guessing that part of the interview process for these teams who are courting BB includes how they’ll handle the record breaking moment. To which, Bill will whisper-mutter …I don’t want anything happening between plays….
Why would BB want to coach the Raiders - who aren’t ideally positioned with either a QB or a top draft pick and go up against Mahomes and Reid every season to finish his career?-

So he’s got plenty of time. He will likely not be as much the runner, but that’s OK.
People keep making comparisons to Cam Newton and how he fell off a cliff. Josh Allen is orders of magnitude better as a passer than Cam ever was. It’s not even close.
I think a better comparison is John Elway. Dude was tough as nails and played until he was 38. I see at least 7more years of prime Allen, with the final few years seeing a dip in production.
So in my opinion we have a solid 7 years left to potentially win a Super Bowl any given year. GO BILLS.

What is insane is the money players who are not elite QBs make....they just don't impact the bottom line enough.
Elite QBs should earn about 90% of the cap! Rest of roster should get the scraps remaining.
I mean if you have a Josh Allen or Mahomes you can field 3rd stringers at many positions and still compete. We just did that in the playoffs and still almost won. Had it been bs anyone besides Mahomes we prob would won.
GM/HC/QB. Nothing else matters.

Its gotten to the point where its almost embarrassing.
But at the end of the day, what matters is my BILLS, our BILLS, so i put up with it. But it'd be great to be prouder of these gameday traditions

I don't know if you've noticed, but Rock hits have been extremely few and far between for a long, long time. We play songs that pump up the players and the crowd and that's predominantly Rock music. Who cares if it's outdated?

I don't personally have any issue with the song, it just seems really played out and generic. On the contrary, when you hear that "Aye aye aye aye" you know it is for the Bills. Doesn't matter where you are. Any Bills fan's ears are going to pick that up and echo it back.
Oregon does play the original Isley Brothers version of the "Shout" song during their games but it isn't tailored specifically for them.
Some quick hitters that come to mind (that I am sure everyone will be in universal agreement, likely unanimously praise me and not criticize my ideas at all) are something like:

People keep mentioning the Goo Goo Dolls for the regional connection but you could also potentially find something from Rush or The Hip that would be relatively regional.
