    Finally got around to watching it. I laughed pretty hard a few times.  Nikki Glaser is hilarious. Peyton was funny as was Brady himself. I didn’t think Tom’s comedic delivery would be any good but it was. Good stuff.  Although overall i thought there was too much raunchy stuff thrown in.  Gronk was cringy.

    Gronk might only have 1 functional brain cell.

    It drives me nuts how the NFL front offices talk so much about character.  But then teams who welcome the big troublemakers often seem to be the most successful.  Most of the league's dynasties are horribly unlikeable outside of their hometowns.

    Growing up in the 90s, the off-field activities of the Dallas Cowboys were legendary and not in a good way.  Michael Irvin, Nate Newton, etc.  The players who weren't criminals had insufferable personalities, who were almost impossible to root for.

    Then you have the New England Patriots with cheating scandal after cheating scandal.  The reason the Netflix roast is so popular, is because every sports fan outside of Boston hated Tom Brady and it's the closest we will ever get to seeing him punched in the face.

    Now it's the Chiefs.  From Kareem Hunt to Tyreek Hill to Rashee Rice.  Taylor Swift.  Just awful.  You really want to root for a guy like Patrick Mahomes or Andy Reid.  But then you wonder why the team keeps turning a blind eye and drafting guys who are destined to become a problem.

    You put Taylor Swift in the same category as wife beaters and criminals. Jesus dude.

    I've heard a lot of Bills talking heads raving about 2nd round WR success -- Deebo Samuel, AJ Brown, etc.

    It's a hot topic with the podcasting community as everyone seems to be laser focused at WR in round 1 or 2.

    So, I was curious to research the hit rate of WR in 1st round vs 2nd round the past several years. The results might surprise you.

    I marked "++" for plus starters each year, which I would define as a top 32 wideout. The past 2 seasons are TBD, so I started in 2021.

    Totals:

    11 out of 28 first round picks ended up being plus starters (39%).

    6 out of 33 second round picks ended up being plus starters (18%).

    2021:

    1st Round

    Ja'Marr Chase ++

    Jaylen Waddle ++

    DeVonta Smith ++

    Kadarius Toney

    Rashod Bateman

    2nd Round

    Elijah Moore

    Rondale Moore

    D'Wayne Eskridge

    Tutu Atwell

    Terrace Marshall Jr

    2020:

    1st Round

    Henry Ruggs

    Jerry Jeudy

    CeeDee Lamb ++

    Jalen Reagor

    Justin Jefferson ++

    Brandon Aiyuk ++

    2nd Round

    Tee Higgins ++

    Michael Pittman ++

    Laviska Shenault

    KJ Hamler

    Chase Claypool

    Van Jefferson

    Denzel Mims

    2019:

    1st Round

    Marquise Brown

    N'Keal Harry

    2nd Round

    Deebo Samuel ++

    AJ Brown ++

    Mecole Hardman

    JJ Arcega-Whiteside

    Parris Campbell

    Andy Isabella

    DK Metcalf ++

    2018:

    1st Round:

    DJ Moore ++

    Calvin Ridley

    2nd Round:

    Courtland Sutton

    Dante Pettis

    Christian Kirk

    Anthony MIller

    James Washintgon

    DJ Chark

    2017:

    1st Round:

    Corey Davis

    Mike Williams ++

    John Ross

    2nd Round:

    Zay Jones

    Curtis Samuel

    JuJu Smith-Schuster

    2016:

    1st Round:

    Corey Coleman

    Will Fuller

    Josh Doctson

    Laquon Treadwell

    2nd Round:

    Sterling Shepard

    Michael Thomas +?

    Tyler Boyd

    2015:

    1st Round:

    Amari Cooper ++

    Kevin White

    DeVante Parker

    Nelson Agholor

    Breshad Perriman

    Phillip Dorsett

    2nd Round:

    Devin Smith

    Dorial Green-Beckham

    So ... when you hear the talking heads describing 1st and 2nd round as both being a hot bed for WR talent historically, this is just recency bias due to a few good players coming from the 2020 and 2019 first and second round. There have been been A LOT of JAGs mixed in as well... but maybe they forgot. Hope you enjoy the analysis.

    Can you do the same for WR in rounds 3-5 since 2015? Bc offhand there are some serious studs (a few being top 10 WR in the entire NFL)

    Second most wins in the NFL since he took over. First are the Chiefs.

    After seeing the reworked contract this is a wild trade for Houston. Not in a good way. Not sure what they are thinking.

    They are thinking that with Stroud at QB, their Super Bowl window has officially opened. I agree. Good for them, I think they’re doing it right.

    I think the move also makes sense for us.

    Prediction: All of the people dismissing him and saying he's always hurt (as if an ACL tear and an Achilles tear aren't both freak accidents that can happen to anyone) now are going to be the first ones saying "why didn't Beane sign this guy?! He was asleep at the wheel!" next season when Dobbins stays healthy, resuscitates his career, and proves to still be a dynamic weapon in the run game.

    Yes, I'm still a Dobbins supporter and believer. Yes, I realize that achilles injuries are hard to come back from for football players. Yes, I wish the Bills would sign Dobbins to a cheap, incentive-laden deal.

    Unless Dobbins wants big money, this seems like an obvious low-risk, high-reward move that I wish Beane would make. The Chiefs seem to be doing a lot of the low-risk, high-reward stuff lately: Araiza, the rugby star they signed once the kickoff rule changed, and now potentially Dobbins. When the financial cost isn't high, I believe that it behooves a team to take calculated risks.

    Ty Johnson > Dobbins at this point in time.

    There is no depth at CB.....Jamarcus Ingram....not so sure.   They have lost Tre and Dane Jackson as depth...that is significant.

    Safety is similar, Rapp and Edwards then what?  Hamlin and Cam Lewis (190 lb) don't make me too confident.   They will fill in to get to 90 with some bodies, they need a couple to really stand out.

    This team will not have the depth they had in recent years on paper going into the season and that is OK by me since they are getting a little healthier cap wise.

    You don’t know that. We lost corner after corner last season and players kept stepping up. Players who fans viewed as not being depth going into last season. Same for the LB corps.

    What fans should take away from this is the importance of positional value in the draft.

    That's what a 25 year old WR with the *potential* to play any of the 3 receiver positions but who has still only averaged just a bit less than 800 yards and 3 TD's per season is worth on the open market.

    The WR the Bills draft in round 1 could have a market value in excess of $30M in year 2 and then you at least have the option to pick up his 5th year at a set price or use it as leverage to extend his deal with some savings.

    If you fnd yourself warming up to the idea of using your first round pick on a center like Jackson Powers-Johnson or a safety/CB like Cooper Dejean........just don't.

    Cant the same thing be said about a WR in round 3?

    I never find comparing the 2024 Bills roster to the 2023 Bills roster or the 2019 Bills roster as interesting because the 2024 Bills will never play a previous version of the Bills.  I don't pay attention to every free agency move, so I don't have an opinion (which is odd because I usually have an opinion on everything) who has improved their team the most with the combination of coaching changes, player cuts and player signings.  (ordinary administrative moves like restructurings or extensions, may create the ability to improve a roster, but the don't actually change the roster in and of themselves, so I don't consider them needle movers. )

    So far the only move that jumped out as me as maybe be missing piece to allow a team to advance further was the Raven's signing of Derrick Henry.  But I have no idea what else the have done.

    Who does everyone think has done the best for themselves?

    I think the Falcons adding a top 10 QB trumps all other current moves. IMO.

    So if Cook is injured, then you are ok with Ty and a 6th round RB being our backfield for the playoffs?

    You have to concede somewhere eventually. And that’s a place I’d be willing to gamble on. As opposed to WR depth. Or OL/DL depth.

    And Kincaid, who is realistically going to be the #2 target.

    I think a lot of ppl seem to overlook this fact. I fully expect Kincaid to get a lions share of the targets next season.

    Kincaid

    Diggs

    Samuel

    sprinkle in Shakir and Knox.

    id take a flyer on a rookie WR with insane physical skills but some red flags in the 3rd or 4th rd.

    Yikes, looking at the replies on Twitter the Philly fans are literally laughing at this signing. All I know is that the LB and secondary were trash for them last year

    If there is one thing I trust this regime on is finding secondary and LB talent that others miss.

    I’m bored with the off-season and don’t care about this Super Bowl. For fun: if you were the owner of the bills what color combination would you want? I came across this tonight and I have to admit, it’s a good look.

    Not because I’m a homer, but I objectively feel we have one of the nicest color combos/unis in the NFL. The home unis are awesome.

    Pierce got the job. I think this is the latest bad call by Davis. Last time, he didn’t hire the interim guy and that failed miserably. This time, because of last time, he hired the guy.

    Taking over like Pierce did has zero in common with being the guy and running the team from day 1. So Davis hired an unknown, when maybe he could’ve hired the completest KNOWN in NFL history.

    He should have hired Belichick. I think the fit would’ve been perfect. If Davis was thinking that he got burned by Gruden’s reign and he didn’t want to go that way again with Belichick, he’d be dead wrong. Belichick isn’t Gruden, in anyway.

    My instincts tell me that Bill would’ve loved to coach Vegas and break Halas’s record while in Silver and Black. It’s an iconic franchise, that I think BB is a huge fan of, and it would’ve made a lot of sense and had the right look to the end of his recording breaking career. The NFL would’ve loved it too.

    Unless you guys pull up references to Belichick having beef with the Davis’s and tha Raiders..? I’d love to learn about it.

    I’m guessing that part of the interview process for these teams who are courting BB includes how they’ll handle the record breaking moment. To which, Bill will whisper-mutter …I don’t want anything happening between plays….

    Why would BB want to coach the Raiders - who aren’t ideally positioned with either a QB or a top draft pick and go up against Mahomes and Reid every season to finish his career?

    Folks keep talking about Josh running out of time to win a championship.  Here’s a link to ages of all SB winning QBs:

    Lots of older guys, some younger guys.  I think the average age is around 31.

    So he’s got plenty of time.  He will likely not be as much the runner, but that’s OK.

    People keep making comparisons to Cam Newton and how he fell off a cliff. Josh Allen is orders of magnitude better as a passer than Cam ever was. It’s not even close.

    I think a better comparison is John Elway. Dude was tough as nails and played until he was 38. I see at least 7more years of prime Allen, with the final few years seeing a dip in production.

    So in my opinion we have a solid 7 years left to potentially win a Super Bowl any given year. GO BILLS.

    $16 million a year, compared to player salaries, is TREMENDOUS value for money.

    Harbaugh is a great coach and his impact on the win total is greater than any player on the team other than QB.

    What is insane is the money players who are not elite QBs make....they just don't impact the bottom line enough.

    Elite QBs should earn about 90% of the cap!  Rest of roster should get the scraps remaining.

    I mean if you have a Josh Allen or Mahomes you can field 3rd stringers at many positions and still compete. We just did that in the playoffs and still almost won. Had it been bs anyone besides Mahomes we prob would won.

    GM/HC/QB. Nothing else matters.
