LOL I literally laughed out loud. Seriously Also, for those saying to document meetings and keep record, I cant see how that would work in most cases that turn out like mine. In the end it all boils down to he said/she said and in the end, who is usually going to get the benefit of the doubt? The manager or the employee? The CEO pretty much summed it all up perfectly when he said.. "Well regardless, the decision has been made" I ended the meeting saying "Well it doesn't matter what I say because it wont make a difference." Then I got up and left CBF

Already done my good man! Thanks buddy! Christmas movies this year? Also, Thank you all so much for the kind words everyone. The support is amazing. The 2nd interview went well I think. He said he didn't want to keep me long and I said don't worry and to ask as many questions as he wanted. We ended up talking for 40 minutes CBF

TIL in the 13th century, Genghis Khan proposed "friendship and peace" with the fellow nomadic Khwarezmian Empire in Persia. The Khwarezmia shah ordered a Mongol trade delegation killed, prompting Khan to invade the empire, kill 1.25 million, and destroy the Khwarezmian Empire. CBF -
Hey just wanted to give everyone an update. So it turns out my gut instinct was right about my old manager. On May 26th my manager and CEO informed me they would not be bringing me back after my probation. (In Canada employers do not need a reason to let you go within the first 90 days of employement) I wasn’t that upset because I did want out and couldn’t stand the unprofessionalism of my manager. Then I was given a termination letter explaining why I was not coming back and that’s when I got really angry. In the letter, it stated I was not coming back because “despite numerous closed door meetings with my manager” I kept on making the same mistakes. This upset me for two reasons. Never. Not once, did I ever have any meetings with my manager about my job performance. She never told me I was doing anything wrong or that I was making mistakes (which I know I wasn’t) I wasn’t making mistakes because she would come to me with questions from time to time and I had to show her how to do things she had no experience with like how to read a credit report etc.. I voiced this in the meeting and my manager was silent during all of it and had her hands together covering her mouth. I said to the CEO that I never have had any meetings about my job performance and all my manager said was “yes we did” I replied saying we never had closed door meetings and you never told me I was doing anything wrong. The CEO then said, “well regardless, the decision has been made” I packed up my stuff as it was the end of the day and went home. I emailed the recruiter about the job I turned down and there was still one opening which I accepted even though its only an 8 month contract. I have now been here almost two weeks and sadly it isn’t the job I applied for. Literally. The job title I applied for was “Credit and collections specialist” and during my training, I asked when we were going to learn about the “Credit” side of this job. The trainer looked at me like I had 8 heads and said we don’t do credit here. (the position here is A/R Analyst) So I don’t know if the recruiting agency posted the wrong position or if they just post a bunch of different search words hoping to get more applicants since A/R is similar to Credit and Collections. Anyways, I just had a second interview for a Credit and Collections rep for a company in the same city as I was working before and I really hope it pans out. When I posted earlier about this job Im at now, I mentioned the commute was the main worry. Well that still holds true. In the morning, If I get here in 75 minutes, I consider that to be a great drive. On the way home, it takes me 2 hours average every day unless I take the toll highway but that is expensive and it only shaves 30 mins off my commute home. Thanks again for all your opinions earlier and advice and I hope to get back to you all with good news about the job I just interviewed for. The manager told me he should know by Friday or Monday. TIL Matt Damon and Ben Affleck originally wrote 'Good Will Hunting' with an oral sex scene between the main character and his shrink to see which film execs had truly read the script. They sold the film rights to Harvey Weinstein of Miramax, the only one to mention the scene was wildly out of place CBF -
