I remember the Bills Browns game on Monday night a few years ago. I saw Steve Johnson finding the soft spot in the zone the entire game and Trent could not find him. I saw that bulls*** in person and I wanted to throw up. The Browns were only rushing 3 for most of that game and Trent just kept checking it down. I mean no pressure either. He looked scared in the pocket and could not find receivers that were open all game. Back to my original point though, I've seen him get open a lot but would not get any looks. And if he did, it was only for a split second.
If I recall, He also dropped a critical 3rd down pass that was right in his chest.

I would love for Hardy to have a break out year...I have a feeling though Stevie Johnson and Marcus Easley will be ahead of him on the depth chart
Would love to see your thinking behind why they will be ahead of Hardy.
-
Really not sure about all the SJ love. He has been hurt too many times in preseason and late in the season. Really not buying the 7th rounder at this time.
-
Since Hardy can't play a lick......SLOW feet.....I think he should be GONE!!!. The local talent here is also a lot cheaper the Parish....and Parrish's return skills are not needed with McKelvin, Spiller, Jackson etc.....So, the 4th pick makes it, and some likelyhood our UB local as well. I personally like him a lot. Four solid years, lots of production.
If you been to workouts, games and a practice or two then you will realize that Hardy is just as fast as the All pro Stevie Johnson. And for being 3 inches taller then Easley, he is not even Second behind him in the 40. Hardy has worked on his route running and has gotten stroger......Go ahead and release him....He will be a monster in another system.

Hardy will be the #2. Johnson/Slot. Gaily will open up the playbook for both.

Tracy Porter from the Saints got a 4 on his test 2 years ago. Oh well He just intercepted P. Manning and ran it in for a TD

Child abuse? Maybe he's the poster boy?
So they give out "courage awards" for restraining yourself from threatening or assaulting your blood relatives?
So what are You trying to say

I am not trying to make a case for Trent Edwards as I think the concussions have his brains a little scrambled, but...
Did anyone notice the amount of times that Drew Brees and Peyton Manning "checked down" in the Super Bowl. Both QB's had a very high completion percentage primarily from hitting the dink and dunk passes and keeping the chains moving and not making mistakes. They obviously were able to hit the medium throws as well, but rarely did they stretch the field. I would love to know the YAC statistics of the game. The check down is clearly a necessary part of the spread offense. Especially when you are sending 5 in patterns.
If we do go to a spread offense, the only QB on our roster who really has the high accuracy is Edwards and if we can build an offense around Fred Jackson, he may be viable for opening day. However, I think we really need to look elsewhere as Fitz, Brohm and McNabb do not fit the bill.
The difference is that this was one game. Trent has done it for 2 years. It fit in both game plans to dink and dunk. To me 20 yards passes are not dink and dunk and there were plenty of those in the superbowl.
Thing is Trent has NO confidence in his WR. Until he does then he will be useless

Actually Porter had an outstanding year for the saints. If he can stay healthy he will be a beast. Just like his IU alum J.Hardy
-
If he were that good than he would have steeped on the field a couple of times the last 2 seasons
Ummmm he was a rookie with that awsome guy throwing him the ball TE. Not to mention a future HOF coach in Juroun.
He was hurt this year....
-
Manning said something in his post game interview about why he did what he did. NO big deal. He will call Drew, and coach Payton and congratulate them. Like another poster said, they had things roped off quickly. Knowing New Orleans it could of gotten out of hand with fans rushing the field.

Did you also notice that both QB's had time to throw the ball and the luxury to step up in the pocket and set their feet to make those great throws? Also did you notice that on the interception that Peyton throw to seal the win for the Saints that there was excellent pressure from the Right DE that blew up the timing on the play and allowed the ball to be intercepted on a great play from Porter?
Football games are won and lost in the trenches more often than not. This game was not an exception. Two great QB's whose excellent play cancelled each other out. I hate to say it but game ball to Greg Williams and the Saints D.
I use minny as an example. For the last 3 years they had a Great line, and great Defense. 1 thing they didnt have was a QB.

Mathis was being held quite a bit but the quick release helped it to be overlooked

Hardy will be a stud in this leauge. Just not in Buffalo
-
Excuses don't win games. And they don't keep coaches employed. Hardy needs to get on with it or take up basketball.
You should become a GM.....Wait maybe not.

Hardy was dismal before he got hurt. Defenses shifted their entire scheme to the inside and to Evans out of a total lack of respect for his game. They could put a backup on him man-on-man and shut him down completely. That's worse than useless. Hopefully, the kid has taken mega-leaps forward, but who'd know with him buried on the bench?
HE WAS A ROOKIE WHO WAS A PROJECT>
Dismal=trent edwards and the entire coaching scheme
-
When Hardy came back this past year, All the QB's and Coaches and TO made comments that Hardy looked good at running the routes and making his breaks. Just saying. Anyone that questions his work ethic really has no clue. Just wait and see. He might be a bust in Buffalo but he wont be in the NFL.
-
Does everyone really want to judge a ROOKIE WR with the coaching staff that was in place? Does everyone really want to judge a ROOKIE WR with Trent Edwards throwing him the ball. Sure he may of had a bust ROOKIE season but look who was in charge?
As far as not playing this year............HE WAS ON THE PUP LIST people. When he came back..HE WAS PLAYING BEHIND A FUTURE HOF AND ANOTHER #1 WR IN EVANS. Not to mention COACH FEWELL WAS PLAYING FOR A JOB AND DIDNT WANT TO PULL THE REGULARS.
Hate all you want but everyone needs to relax with ALL PLAYERS that have played under the DICKie J game plan.

James Hardy should get a mention on the bad value list. The guy caught 1 !@#$ing ball all year.
And the way these lists are, Steve Johnson probably makes the good list as an honorable mention because he's paid peanuts and not because he only caught 2 balls. Jon Corto? Jon Corto??
It's pathetic that the entire WR corps, with significant playing time, is on the bad value list. Maybe that has something to do with the OL (which ironically flood filled the "good" value list) and the lousy QB play behind that line.
Hardy played in 1 game. Thats why he only had 1 catch.

Because the Bills could have had Deshaun Jackson. Hardy wasn't good before he got hurt and Jackson is a superstar. And don't start with the we already had a bunch of short recievers non-sense.
What would Jackson do in a Bills uniform.........................again for the 100th time. You think he would be tearing it up. Oh yeah just LIKe TO was going to do.
-
Explain why he's not.
Poor QB
Poor Coaching
Poor Play Calling

What a waste.
How can Modrak explain these picks? Doesn't Maybin look like he rode the short bus to school, too?
I think I now know why Modrak lives in FL.
Kinda makes it hard to be accountable to anyone living a good 24 hours away...
Explain why hardy is a waste.

How are you going to see? The guy still can't take the field
Plus you already showed your WR knowledge or lack of in this thread
Thats right you are the expert in all aspects of the game. How dare I post anything. He may see the field this week. Wait he was sick. You know better......I bow down to the almight MarkyMann. You and S Johnson need to team up. You both would rule the NFL.

Its been stated many of times by TO, Coaches and Media that Hardy's work ethic is outstanding. CG will get him the ball this year if he can stay healthy.
