  1. would be a good move, also patrick crayton or roy williams might be available. Any of the 3 would be a big upgrade for us. I would not be surprised if James Hardy gets cut.

You are going to give up on a 2nd round reciever after basically having only 1 year of experience because he was hurt year 2. You cant count last year because he was on the PUP list.

  2. Despite Gailey saying he'll keep 5 on the roster. I think he'll ultimately keep 6. Here's my guess at the 6 roster spots:

Roster: Lee Evans, Steve Johnson, Marcus Easley, Felton Huggins, Chad Jackson, David Nelson

    Practice Squad: Naaman Roosevelt

Gone: Roscoe Parrish, James Hardy, Donald Jones

You honestly think that Huggins and Nelson will bump Hardy off the list. Let alone Chad Jackson. As a Hardy fan, I hope he does get cut. Maybe he will land with the a team thats has a QB. There would be multible teams after him.

  3. And Ellis Lankster raked the ball away from James Hardy to prevent a touchdown catch.

    "Like-a-um, like-a-um, like-a-um, you can't catch that."

Easy big fella......to be honest if you watch the video......it would of been a TD

  4. I dont think there's any question regarding Hardy's physical capabilities, but the biggest issue he's had has been his lack of skills in the route running dept. Unless he improves on that during training camp, and i dont know if TO had any influence on him in that respect last year, I dont see anything more than what we've seen from him to date, and quite possibly being cut.

Here's to hoping that he has improved in that area as well.

Reports came out late last year he has improved in all areas.

  5. WHen is everyone going to learn its not all about the stats. Hardy was the #2 reciever and looked like crap. Doesnt show much heart or eagerness to play. On the other hand Johnson shows he wants to play and unlike the former #2 reciever I believe if Johnson is given the chance he will prove to be our best receiever.

Heart.........are you kidding me.....you are going no heart on us. Hardy has done nothing but train all off season. If he had no heart he would be making rap songs and tweeting all off season. Have you seen an interview. Wow. Just wow. No heart. You know this How?

  6. No it isn't. Thats what you don't get.

2 million in guaranteed money + salary is alot of money.

500 yards a year is a realistic minimum expectation to set for 1 st year high 2nd round draft pick.

The first 50 draft Picks, which hardy was Pick #41, should be expected to come in and earn PT right away, they are also paid as if they will play right away.

Right now the Bills are getting much more value from SJ's contract than Hardy's.

    Its simply about expectations.

I'm sure SJ wouldn't mind getting paid 2 mil to put up the same numbers as Hardy.

Please explain the TO contract and Lee Evans Contract based on production like you stated above. What I am trying to say is look at the Offensive scheme the past few years. Even if Hardy was 100% healthy last year and TO was not around you would be lucky to see 400-600 yards from him. Not a bash on Hardy, or whoever Just the way the Bills have played football the last few years. Blame it on the coaches, QB, Line or what ever.

  7. I didn't read all the posts, but I am sure i is about expectations. High for Hardy, low for Johnson. All things being equal stat-wise Johnson has overachieved and Hardy underachieved.

Agree to a point but for Hardys sake he was injured all of last year......Even though he played in 1 game last year you really cant count last year for him. Johnson on the other hand for the most part was healthy and only hand 1 more catch.

  8. I saw Hardy the season he played. Yep, he is big, but, he is SLOW and has SLOW feet. I don't believe he will make it as a receiver. JMO

The dude was a Basketball Stud turned into a Football player.....6-5 frame may look slow to most compare to a 5-11 guy. He did run a 4.45. I guess that is slow compared to a Chris Johnson.

  9. Is there a link that shows number of times thrown to verses actual catches?

I would bet that Stevie was thrown to 12 times with 12 catches. That's why we like him.

I do remember a critical 3rd and 3 against Cleveland in Johnsons rookie year.....KER plunk. On the ground drop.....trent was never the same.

  10. Outside the St. Louis game where in many people minds James Hardy dropped 10 balls, was the only poor game Hardy played in as a rookie. Why is everyone doubting him. You cant really count last year as a down year because he was hurt and on the PUP list. He has shown just as much as the ever beloved S Johnson. If people think Easely will come in here in put up 700 yard season, have way to high of hopes. He is just as RAW as Hardy when he came into the NFL.

  11. Would you like us to list every late draft pick and marginal back up as well?

Hardy was an early round pick, he was expected to make an impact, that he hasn't is worth noting. That a late round pick hasn't is not.

Other players mentioned are either early picks or former/current starters.

Well considering the Stevie Johnson is the next best thing to Jerry Rice in a lot of minds then yes you should consider him as well. He hasnt done squat but you would think he has 2. 1000 yard receiving years under his belt. Thats all I am saying

  12. As much as I hate to admit it, I think the Bengals or Jets are going to Super Bowl 45 this February in Dallas as the representaive from the AFC. That being said, I don't think either team is building for the long haul. I think they're putting all their chips on the table for one big run this season.

It begs the question, would you rather our Bills sign big name FA's, etc. for one run at the ring? Or would you rather them build for the long haul, with multiple attempts to get there?

The Raiders made that one big run in 2002. They got to the Super Bowl and lost to the Bucs. If you remember, they had Bill Romanowski, Jerry Rice, etc... The Steelers, on the other hand, built their franchise for the long haul and have won a few times over the past few years. Again, which would you prefer as a fan?

At any rate, I think it will be the Green Bay Packers vs. the Bengals or Jets in SB 45.

I will take the Colts over both. Cincy just cant see it. Jets might have the sophmore blues.

  13. Why give Hardy a break? Isn't his absence typical of what we've seen of this sad choice? WHEN is he going to contribute to this team? He got his signing bonus and signed out. Most people could have predicted it, but not Marv Levy.

If being in Buffalo all off season training and learning means he checked out......so be it
