  1. Name 10 safeties better than Whitner, because most experts believe he is top 10. He was moved around because we had a lot of injuries at CB, and this move to FS is because the team feels that his roaming capabilities shouldn't be wasted taking on pulling guards in the box. Name me one Tampa 2 team that uses a 350 lbs tackle... oh wait... you can't.

name 10 safetiies that were drafted in the top 10 to make game changing plays...oh wait...you cant...reason being you dont take safeties in the top 10 because they rarely live up to the pick. ed reed was taken somewhere in the 20's and bob sanders i believe was a second rounder.

  2. Invested the 8th overall pick on Whitner and the Bills FO has done nothing to get a solid FS in there to support him.

    What a joke.

here we go with the donte apologists...with the 8th overall pick donte should be making eveyone else around better. a top 10 pick shouldnt need anyone to help him. does ed reed or bob sanders or troy polomalu need help? no...why? because they make everyone else around them better football players

  3. He wasnt hurt though the first 6 games, all losses. But college records dont matter, I was only addressing the comments made about Cutlers college record.

NFL records are not an accurate indication of a QB's performance...football is a team game, QB is very important, but a teams ability to win doesnt rely only on the QB. Good teams can overcome marginal QB play...

Brees doesn't have an impressive record because of his teams, however, he is easily a top 5 QB in this league...Flacco has a good record even though he didn't play all that well because his team was good enough to win with his level of play...

your right drew brees is a top 5 qb, who has not only gotten to the playoffs he has won in the playoffs. in cutlers short career what has he done beside accumlate a record of 17-24. yes he is young...whats this his 4th or 5th year now...but he hasnt won at the collegiate level nor the professional level. you want to say a team has an effect of the qb but how about peyton manning and the colts in the earlier part of the decade? the colts had one of the worst defenses in the league year after year but because of peyton manning they won atleast 10 games a year? or tom bradys pats pre randy moss? did he have that dynamic go to reciever? my point is cutler is good nobody is denying that but to make him seem like this trascendent player and he has a losing record because of his teams terrible defense is ridiculous

  4. FYI: 2 Big differences in Cutler and Edwards...

    1. Cutler has a big arm, better suited for Buffalo

    2. Cutler keeps getting better each year and Trent regressed...

    Bring in Cutler!

i agree he has the big arm. my question is what good is a big arm if the offensive scheme doesnt utilize it? (i.e jp losman)

  5. he is the same type of qb that jp losman is except better. atheltic, big arm and prone to throwing int's. he does not fit the scheme here. he needs to be able to stretch the field and we dont do that here. we havent since drew bledsoe. besides his career record is 17-24 in the worst division in football and one of the best recievers in football. what makes anyone think that if he came here in a much tougher division and a offensive scheme that would take away what he is naturally good at that he would be successful?

  6. If today's QB's went back in time, with bump and run coverage, single-bar helmets or no bar, goal posts planted at the goal line, and personal fouls assessed (maybe) only if you were unconscious and bleeding to the point you would sully the field...they might not shine so brightly.

Crackback blocks, receivers being constantly pummeled after the snap, slaps and elbows to the face, 2 goal posts on the goal line, not 1 at the back of the end zone and so on.

"peyton mannings, tom bradys, john elways, joe montanas and dan marinos" might have been weeping and sulking on the sidelines. Who knows?

yes it was a dirtier game back then but it had to be because there werent as many great athletes. 6'1 200 lbs back then was giant...6'1 200 lbs is about the size of the average special teamer.

  7. ohh man will people please stop with the sammy baugh, otto graham or norm van brocklin references. yes they were great in their time but if they were to play now they would get the sh*t kicked out of them. you cannot tell me that if they were to play in todays game or in the last 20 years for that matter that they would have nearly the success that they have had. defenses are much more complex and the athletes of then are no where near what they are today. the things that the peyton mannings, tom bradys, john elways, joe montanas and dan marinos have done with the athletes on defense and the technology of today are much more significant than what was accomplished back then.

  8. How much money would you allocate to paying DEs? We pay Scho-ver the hill, I'd rather be at Denney's, and Kel-sux lots o' dough. If we cut one of them, then I could see spending 1rst round $ on one. I'm not saying DE isn't a priority, but could any more money be spent on a lack of pass rush? Add up the totals, and I'd be very curious what we pay per sack (even per tackle) from the DE position. We need an upgrade, but we also need to cut the cash at that position.

VERRRY original...i think you spent more time on the name pundits than you on putting the post together...

  9. i always felt the mcnabb has been a top 5 qb his entire career and has gotten a raw deal. he has never really had anyone to throw to except when he had was TO and look what happened? he went to a super bowl. they have been so dominant in the nfc since he became the qb. i think that if mcnabb had a marvin harrison a chad johnson or tory holt back then he would have atleast won a super bowl possibly 2.
