  1. Dude...This team is not even an NFL caliber organization at this point. There is zero improvement or innovation or any upgrade from last season. Things picked up right where they left off in 2009, 2008, 2007 and so on. This team SUCKS. The NFL should revoke their charter and tell them they will be re instated once they put a competent product on the field that is on par with the other 31 teams. If I was in media Id laugh at this crappy team too. Might be the only way to stomach being forced to have to cover them. Part of me thinks there is a conspiracy to kill the team, interest in the team, attendance and so on because it is actually hard to be this aweful without really working at it.........

OK I'm going to be optimistic. We won 6 games last year (5 if you debate Indy whatever) and we are rebuilding. Our defense played well given their makeover, and our backfield has talent and OLine is improving. Let's rebuild and stomach some frustration in the interest of growth. Screw the media and all those that jump on the hate train.

  2. I'm quite aware of our current situation.... I did say right or wrong, and the question remains.. do other bad teams get talked about with such disrepect and lack of professionalism?

All the experts were correct. Hopefully that ridiculous thread is pinned.

did you watch what I posted? It's not about being correct, I'll concede that of course. It's about a total lack of professionalism that the NFL network lets on the air.

  3. The disrespect for the Bills is getting out of control... they admittingly aren't paying attention during our highlights (1:20 in), and the only reason we scored was busted coverage (2:40)? Right or wrong, these guys are not professional and I hope we can stick it to them... a lot of work to do I know. Does any other bad team get talked about like this?

  4. i would have figured the jets fans to be most annoying.

i hate fire joe or whatever his name is (dont really hate him, but you know what i mean)

hate revis and their nose tackle kris jenkins, hate rex rayon too.

always hated l.t. in san diego. now i have much greater reason to dislike him. this guys is a chump. he sits out on all big charger games.

Yeah maybe it's not a true look at their fans...who would want to go watch their team surrounded by a room full of opposing fans anyway.

  5. I go to the Bills Backers bar every week, and here's how I describe AFC East fans that show up when we were matched up: now remember they are showing up to the section of a bar dedicated to Bills fans so it's usually a small group and they are outnumbered. (In Virginia)

Jets fans: Actually pretty humble. No J-E-T-S when they score but they do cheer of course. Respectful of our group, but they must come there for convenience. Higher football IQ than most other fans. One of them gotta little mouthy but I think it was frustration from Sanchez' picks and a few Bills fans rubbing it in.

Pats fans: They are checking other games for fantasy stats and don't know 1/2 of their starters. All Brady jerseys. Jean shorts. Socks and sandals. Hands down the lowest football IQ, and usually straight up wrong about football. They'll leave in the 4th quarter in a close game so the minivan can stop at Starbucks before dinner. They eat salads and ask for boneless wings. They watch the LOGO channel instead of the Redzone channel. I could go on...

Dolphins fans: Most drunk and most obnoxious. A-Holes! and have received the short end of two small-brawls over the past two years. A couple of them stand in the way back and talk s***, but disappear afterwards. Many were red faced drunks -- one had a ankle tattoo that looked like a butterfly, but I wasn't sure. I'm sticking with butterfly. Our hosts are a little older couple, and one Phins fan was getting in their face during routine plays and defensive stops. He was later removed. Idiots -- don't really know football IQ since they didn't really talk or try to be polite. Straight up losers.

I can't wait to see their faces tomorrow when we begin our year to shock to world (with an 8-8 season). GO BILLS!!!

  6. Just read a little blurb about Wood getting time at center as Hangartner got a veteran day off, and it got me thinking about whether the Oline would be better off with Wood at center full time - last year I noticed that the Bills seemed to play better against a 4-3 defense as compared to a 3-4 defense, I chalked it up to the fact that they were more use to playing against a 4-3 because that is what we play but now I'm wondering if it doesn't have more to do with Hangartner at center.

Maybe I'm wrong here - but with all the nose tackles we will face this year, maybe we'd be better served with him at center. Not sure if the guards end up double teaming good ones anyway.

  7. I hate to say it, but the bad pass to Lee represents progress for Trent, IMO. Not the bad pass part, but the fact that he let it go before Lee was looking back. He made a bad decision, as Lee was really blanketed, but at least he gave it a shot.

EDIT: Also should mention the incompletion to Steve Johnson in the 2nd Q, when SJ was interfered with. The pass was good (not perfect) and Trent threw it downfield despite decent coverage. I consider that progress.

Excellent point. It's obviously a self-confidence issue that he is slowly overcoming. Seeing that bad pass was horrific and pleasing at the same time. Sort of like my golf game.

  8. because trent knows he sucks and does not want to admit that he sucks. so he only says i got to look at the film and see what i did wrong and then blames other players for his bad play. Maybe hes bribing gailey to start him i dont know, but hes got to go and gailey has got to see that. He sucks and has not changed lets get brohm and brown out there they cant play much worse then what trent and fitz did yesterday. I mean that was horrid.

sooo.. you're saying he sucks then? Any other answers as to the cause of positive results to current?

  9. Here's a sampling of games from the 2008 season of Trent:

Wk Opp CompAtt Pct Yds Avg TD INT Sack Rate W/L

    1 SEA 19 30 63 215 7.2 1 0 1 96 W

    2008 245 374 65.5 2699 7.2 11 10 23 85

(sorry copy/paste is so bad from Mac to TSW)

This isn't horrible, and in my opinion it's pretty good. So what happened??

    A. Bad teams made him look good

    B. Worse OL

    C. Concussion

    D. Trent's confidence

    E. DJ and Co made him worse?

    F. Worse supporting cast?

I don't know the answer, I'm looking for them.

  10. I was thinking the same thing. The speed is there, the guy is fast. I think the anouncer said it was the first time he had seen Maybin do a spin move(that was when he recorded the sack). Hopefully he can figure our more moves.

Maybe we should have Roscoe at OLB then...he's quick and small too.

  11. The defense is new, and we should expect that it will be awful in preseason. Going3-4 when you have the personnel for a 4-3 is going to be traumatic, maybe for a whole season. It is no surprise it would be a nightmare the first game of preseason. Let's give them the preseason to develop and start whining and gnashing our teeth if it doesn't show great improvement in the regular season.

Offensive should not be a surprise to anyone who has watched our personnel moves all year. The offensive line is the weakest spot on the team and qb isn't too far behind. The saving grace, if we can somehow create an offensive line is going to be our running game. Run the ball, eat the clock get an occassional score and count on the defense.

Special teams will develop under a new coach, seems to have some good players such as Youbooty, Nelson, and a bag of returners.

I'm disappointed in the penalties even for a rebuilding team. We have to work on that fast and often.

Bad show, Buffalo. We expect better even in preseason.

I agree, and am not discouraged. 3 starting OL out, Poz was out, our RBs got dinged up, and Corner and McGee had a bad night. Really bad night. Let's see if we can get Trent a little more time against the Colts with some of our OL back.

I'm also a little confused as to Donte's role with the TE -- it seemed like the middle of the field was too wide open yesterday.

  12. They just did a little preview of tonights PS game. They showed 3 incomplete passes from TC from Edwards, and Shawn Springs said the only bright spots on our defense are Byrd and Maybin.

Really? I'm not bashing people because I'm a Bill's fan that can't accept reality -- it just seems that there is little or no effort by the media to even look into teams that aren't headliners....Aaron Shatz would fit in perfectly there...

  13. I'll be honest here: I didn't really care who we drafted this spring, as we had a hell of a lot of needs.

But after watching some of the Panthers/Ravens game last night, I have to say...I wish we had drafted Clausen. For his first NFL game, he looked better than anyone we've got on the team right now. I couldn't help but think "he could've been ours" the entire time I watched. Am I alone here?

Oh well - here's hoping that Spiller ends up making me forget all about this tonight!

You are not alone - he showed a lot of guts. Not that he's a 1st round pick, but I'd love to have him on our team. I read somewhere yesterday on TSW about Gailey's emphasis on quick passes and throwing to spots vs waiting for people to be open. Jimmy C. already gets that (or his coaches have installed in at ND and Car.). He looked like a leader out there too. If it continues (and Moore doesn't improve from yesterday), I think we'll be seeing JC starting.

I'm looking for Trent to show the same stuff today. Trust your receivers and get rid of the ball!!!

  14. I have too much time on my hands - but I still look forward to seeing how I do....

    Winner: Bills 44-20

    Score @ 1st Q end: Skins 10-0

    Score @ half: Bills 14-10

Best performance on DL: Alex Carrington and Troup hold down the fort better than expected and stuff a few runs...

Best performance @ LB: Maybin shocks the world - 2 sacks. No other real surprises or disappointments

Best performance @ DB: McGee is back baby, 2 PDs and 1 INT

Best performance @ S: Whitner is a madman covering all the field - Bryd drops two INT balls :bag:

Best performance @ OL: Hangartner holds his own, and Calloway impresses. Meredith is good not great, gets beat twice bad. Chambers is brutal

    QBs

Trent is 7 of 9 for 61 yards...gets sacked and limps off the field. 2-4 downfield, 5/5 <10 yards

Fitz throws INT on first play...comes back with nice TD passes to Hardy and Lynch of all people. 8/14 for 110, 2TDs

Brohm is 3 for 12 but has a rushing TD, throwing TD and 1 INT, 75 yrds passing

Levi Brown is 4-6 with a INT but not bad. 80 yards passing

    RBs

Freddie gets shut down..2.1 yrds/carry...0 TDs

Lynch gets busy! 1 rushing TD for 30+, 1 receiving TD, and great blocking and pass protection. 5.1 ypc

Spiller has 2 big plays (one run one rec), a long KR to their 45

Simpson gets garbage time carries and looks good, 1 TD

    WR:

Lee is open a lot and no one finds him...2 rec. for 32 yards

Johnson is nice! 6 rec for 48, 1 TD

Hardy - 2 rec, 1 TD, 50 yards - shows his size in the endzone

Jackson gets a lot of looks and musters up 4 rec for 71 yards

    rushing TDs: Brohm, Lynch, Simpson

    receiving TDs: Lynch, Johnson, Hardy

    failed 2 pt conversion
