  1. Luck may not even come out this year. Losing to perhaps be in a position to take a guy that might come out, is a piss-poor strategy and reflects the mindset of someone who has given up. Has no hope. Lacks vision.

Not when he uses words like potentially. I never said this was the end all, I said it potentially puts our future at risk IF you believe Luck is that special. Of course non of us know for sure he's coming out or if he will be what we think he will. For all I know it may be a blessing in disguise and we draft Mallett for example and have 15 years of happy times. Don't be so closed minded just because someone disagrees with you, which is your forte by the way. You don't respect anyone's opinion. Very visionary of you Bean.

I'm just saying I would prefer a position of power to draft the QB of our choice in lieu of a win. It's my opinion. Doesn't mean I believe our future is determined or dead. It would do you some good to not be so hopeless about having an opportunity at drafting the QB of our choice.

  2. The best predictor of winning next year is winning this year. don't believe me? Compare the records of teams in year A and compare them to year B. Does winning in year A correlate better with wining in year B, or does losing enough to get the #1 or #2 draft pick correlate better with winning in year B? What about year C?

If you don't think the Bills are smart enough to find an impact player at #2, #4, #9, #10, etc, what makes you think they will make the right decision at #1. The "lose to get a better draft pick" crowd is made up (I believe) of people who have essentially given up. People with no hope. People who lack vision.

I think your blanket statements of folks that believe a win today puts this teams future at risk is shortsighted and irresponsible. I obviously am one of the fans that believe this loss could have potentially risked the future of the franchise.

The question isn't whether the Bills can't make the right decision picking #1 versus further down, arbitrarily. It's solely about Andrew Luck. Some of us feel that risking the opportunity to draft this young man is potentially drastic. Now can we say for sure? Of course not, but that's the reason for the stance and it's our opinion. Doesn't mean we've given up, have no hope, or have no vision. It actually takes a person with more vision to feel this way, cause it was tough to fight feelings of joy today. This team put on one hell of a show. I found myself caught in a dichotomy, wanting the team to do well, but knowing what it was potentially doing to our future.

  3. I postulate he would have zero trade value, hence a hole in the CB depth chart and nothing in return vs an oft injured but solid when present player, is a losing proposition to me.

However as I said “considering any option on the table”, if someone offered their first or second round pick or even the fourth they drafted him with, I think it would be worth consideration, I just don't believe that offer will be out there come March/April.

You should have used the word postulate as a verb in that sentance, not a noun. Hahaha. I still don't understand how a player with what you called a "bum knee" has more value to us? You responded for depth, but that doesn't make any sense, unless you don't truly believe he has a "bum knee".

  4. Hate to do this but if it isn't obvious to you guys at this point then I'm sorry to break it to you:

THE BILLS WILL NOT BE IN THE POSITION TO DRAFT ANDREW LUCK AT #1 IF HE DECLARES.

The Carolina Panthers are starting a guy who was a stay at home daddy this week. The Carolina Panthers are bad, real bad. The Bills aren't very good either but they fight like dogs (sorry Vick), they still care, and they believe in .... FITZMAGIC.

Don't mean to brag but I told you guys Stevie Johnson would be something to talk about soon enough (thought he was 2 years ago), Fitz would take over Trent's job (Fewell knew it right away, give the man some props) and that Andrew Luck was the next guy to be considered THE MAN coming out of the draft.

If he declares, Andrew Luck is going #1. He is quickly becoming the guy whose name is mentioned along the likes of Manning and other greats. Promo has been trying to argue against it lately but watch the clips bro - he looks good.

And because of last weeks win, we are no longer in the position of power. I would not be surprised if we beat the Bengals tomorrow. We are going to win a few more games. Even if we win 1 more game - it's still 1 more than Carolina will win. They aren't investing in Claussen. When someone this obvious is the consensus #1, you take a chance and grab him. Carolina will quickly forget about the wasted picks on Claussen and Pike.

There's only 2 things left to root for guys; FITZMAGIC and the drafting of BUDDY NIX (Carrington aside).

What three teams are we going to beat? The Panthers may not be investing in Claussen, but they have already invested in Clausen by drafting him in the second round. So maybe they will be dismissing their investment if they draft ahead of us. Sometimes things are blessings in disguise, Ryan Mallett looks very good to me, and might be one heck of a consolation prize.

You are claiming bragging rights on seeing something in Johnson? Uh, most of us saw it and thought it. Way to go out on a limb and declare Trent would get overtaken. You're obviously the only one that saw that coming.

  5. It seems this is the unpopular opinion as of late, but I hope we lose. I see no point in winning 3-5 games and sliding 3-5 slots in the draft. I won't feel better as a fan now and especially come draft day. If the team is fragile enough that 4 wins vs 1 gives them hope or feel like they are building a winning atmosphere, well than what can I say?

  6. Here is my problem, I would like to jump on the Andrew Luck BANDWAGON but I still need to see Brohm for 1 complete game (not a series)

If that doesn't happen this year, then I stick with the Quarterbacks we have. I realize this will piss a few of you off but we are most likely talking about the #1 overall pick in the draft and the uncertainy is the issue.

Don't even think about posting past stats in Green Bay, that was years ago!

I want to see Brohm soon and for a complete game.

Not sold on Fitzpatrick quite yet, but there is still time. You can see the problem, one pretty good QB in Fitzpatrick and one unknown!

If the Bills don't draft a QB I assume Buddy Nix will say WE STILL HAVE BRIAN Brohm, and we like him!

Then I will be pissed! Don't be mad at me, I need all the facts before draft day 2011.

You need all the facts? You need a clue. "Ok hold on guys a fan needs all the facts before he can get on the Luck bandwagon so we're going with Brohm." Screw the crucial cohesion we are tying to desperately find for this team, and that we've been able to finally find with Fitz. For the first time in 5-6 years we are able to evaluate our O line, our receivers, the coaches are able to do some things, AND YOU WANT TO SEE BROHM TO QUENCH YOUR CURIOSITY?

  7. Which is why we should have never drafted him. We had a much better running game last year with Lynch and Fred with the same O-line as last year except RT. We should have traded back to get Bulaga and more picks.

Same O-line as last year? Uh no, nice try but not even close. Trade back to get Bulaga huh? Yeah, lets draft a right tackle who isn't good in the first round. Some people just have a need to live in the past and comfort themselves with regret.

  8. The Panthers are in an interesting situation. They obviously drafted Clausen but lets not forget they drafted Pike too. They got rid of Delhomme and paved the way for either Moore, Clausen, or Pike to emerge. They would be seriously turning their back on this commitment by drafting a QB in the first round next year. But certainly Fox is on his way out as head coach, and could the new coach want to turn the page? I would think that if Fox and Hurney (GM) are both fired, there's a real possibility of them being a competitor in the draft for a QB. If Hurney is retained he and the new head coach may have to live with the choices already made. It will be interesting to see how this situation manifests itself should they be ahead of us in the draft order.
